Masking with Diecuts – Pamela Ho

Hello everyone! We have another guest designer today! I have been a Pamela fan ever since I found her on Moxie Fab World when she was a winner to a challenge. I am amazed by how much effort she puts in to achieve a clean look, over and over. There are always clever uses of products as well. I was on Neat and Tangled‘s team with her and am so happy for her stamp design debut with them! Such talent! Now, take it away, Pamela! Masking with Diecuts Hello everyone! This is Pamela and I’m so excited to be guest designing for Waffle Flower‘s August release! I’m using the new Surface – Tag Die - Santa Add-On die and I will be doing a lot of masking for a simple, one layer card. I first die cut everything on some masking paper. I first adhered the buckle negative onto my card base and I will be blending some […]

[Tutorial] You Make Me Dream Card

Hello everyone! I’m very excited to share today’s card. I think I outdid myself! I can finally put these products away for a while, knowing that I’ve done my best. We are going to showcase our next release in a couple of days! It will be another whole round of fun! Can’t wait to share with you! I was cleaning my craft table and found a piece of green paper that was left from a card I made earlier (another one of my favorites, click here to see it). And my Rock My World Die Set and Surface- Tag Die – Scallop Add-on were still left on the table from the last project. So I combined them again! I love the funky shapes the rock dies created. You could create a similar flower with an oval die but it wouldn’t have so much character to it. The petals were created from the leftover […]

Five for Friday and a Cake Card Tutorial

Hello, everyone! It is Friday again! Five for Friday I’m sharing some cake inspiration today!   They look so good! Here is a card I was inspired to make! A Cake Card Tutorial The sentiment is a sneak peek to a new stamp set we are going to introduce in August. The cake was made from our Surface – Tag Die – Scallop Add-on. Diecut the rectangle label twice from pink paper and the scallop frame once from white paper. Layer the scallops on top of the labels to make the cake layers: Adhere the layers together and trim off the extra. The flower is made from our Rock My World Stamp Set and Die Set. Stamp the flowers on pink paper and die cut. Use a stylus and a mousepad to shape the flowers into little cups. Adhere the two flowers together with foam adhesive and you will get a great dimensional […]

Flower Punch Board Tutorial, Coupon + Giveaway

Hello everyone! Have you heard the news that We R Memory Keepers and American Crafts are now one company? I am excited about this acquisition. For my Studio post today, I used the new WRMK Flower Punch Board and some beautiful paper from AC/Pebbles Special Delivery. The flowers are BIG – ranging from 3″ to 9″ in diameter. I had so much fun mixing and matching the sizes. It is amazing how these beautiful flowers were made from a simple punch board and a stem kit! Flower sizes and simple directions are printed on the board but it took me a while to figure out how to fold the petals. Once you have it figured out, it will be very fun and relaxing! So I put together a quick tutorial to share today! Tutorial Flower Size: S (5″ dia.) Paper Size: 2-5/8″ x 12″ 1. Punch and Score: Follow the directions printed on the board. 2. Fold the […]

[Tutorial] Strawberry Rocks Card & Five for Friday

Hello everyone! Happy Friday! I was inspired by this rock painting project to make a card for today! Since I’ve been having fun playing with our Rock My World Stamp Set and Die Set lately, I immediately wanted to make strawberries with our rocks! And here is my take! How to Make Strawberries from Your Rock Stamps 1. Stamp the rocks on the card front. I’m using the reverse side of the “live, laugh, love” rock to get a solid image. 2. Stamp the leaves (from Flower Circles Stamp Set) and cut out. Cut about 1/16″ away from the stamped image will actually give it a more finished look. 3. Use a black pen to add some random dots to your “strawberries”. Wait until your ink is dry on paper to do this. The dots do not need to be perfect. 4. Use a white gel pen to add the seeds. […]

Faux Watercolor Look on Vellum

Hello everyone! I was excited about all the new dies and embossing folders from Lifestyle Crafts / We R Memory Keepers. I immediately ordered a few of my favorites using my Studio Team credits. I played with the Mason Jar Die yesterday and wanted to share what I have discovered while playing: a faux watercolor look on Vellum! The Mason Jar was screaming to be cut with vellum! The technique is very simple: use your Copics or any other alcohol markers to color in the embossing window. Use as a template is one of my favorite features of this die! I was putting the colors on very liberally and was happy with the results! I traced the patterns with a 0.05 Copic multiliner to give them more definition. It was a nice surprise to find out that the “Be happy, it’s a decision.” sentiment from our Bowtiful Stamp Set fits nicely in the banners. Remember to bend your clear sentiment stamps if needed. I die […]

[The Missing Manual for Card Making] Stretch A Sketch

This post is part 1 of 1 for The Missing Manual for Card Making

This post is part 1 of 1 for The Missing Manual for Card MakingHello everyone! Today I’m sharing a post for a series of postings I’ve wanted to do for a while. I am one of those people who reads every word in a user manual and hopes there is one for everything, haha! While I am still learning new things everyday, I think I should go ahead and document what I’ve learned. I will share simple bite-size tips in the hope that they will be helpful to someone else too. When I first stumbled across card sketches, I felt like that I found a piece of that missing manual for card making. A sketch takes out the majority of the “guess work”. I believe limitation is what stimulates creativity! The example I’m using today is the sketch for our current Waffle Flower Challenge. It was based on the card on the right. We can follow a sketch closely or give it a little twist to make our card standout. Stretch a […]
