Made From Scratch Gift Tag

Hello everyone! Popped in to share a tag I made that was published in Create: Holidays Idea Book (October, 2013). It was made for Christmas but it certainly works for a handmade gift for Valentine’s Day or almost any occasion that you may have coming! I love, love cats! My cats love to play with anything that tangles and anything that they can scratch. Isn’t the sentiment perfect for a gift tag with a cat on it? How-to 1. Die cut a tag from pink heart paper and knot red hemp cord through the top of the tag. 2. Stamp the sentiment on the bottom of the tag in black and stamp the cat above it. 3. Stamp the cat image again onto blue patterned paper and white cardstock, paper piece the image together, and layer it over the base image using foam adhesive. 4. Wrap red hemp cord around […]

For You Wooden Gift Box

Hello everyone! Today’s project was also published in Paper Crafts Holiday Cards & More Vol.8. Here’s the link to a digital sneak peak of the issue. I bought a few wooden boxes for $1 each at Michael’s and thought it would be fun to customize them with some paper and stamps. One thing I learned from this project: my trusty Versafine inks will bleed on wood. I have had better luck with VersaMagic inks. Grayson Card Drive + A Winner

Hello Everyone! I had some time this morning and made a couple cards for Grayson and his brother Aydan. You can read about the card drive Danielle started here. These are simple cards but I hope that they will bring a smile to the boys. I used the new Hero Arts Gold ink on the building silhouette in the super day card. I am a little disappointed about the gold ink. It is watery (like the rest of the shadow inks) and is more like a light kraft color with some glitter in it than a solid pigment gold ink I am used to. I will try it more later but here is a comparison shot: And while I’m here, I would like to announce the random winner of Pebbles Back to Basics Blog Hop at my stop. Congratulations Kelly! Please email me your snail mail address at: Thank everyone for […]

Fintastic Summer Pattern Play

Hello everyone! I couldn’t remember when was the last time I made something just for the fun of it.  So when I saw the new The Mixy-Matchy Style Challenge in the Moxie Fab World, I decided to play a little for myself :) I have been exploring the mixy-matchy style (free-style collage?) lately myself. The photos Cath put together for us in the challenge are so inspiring! I have a few more ideas I would like to try in the next few day. Spend 2-3 hours making a card is the best way to end a long day, right? ;) Lots of patterned paper and some stamping, a little bit of washi, a little bit of cork, a little bit of wood and a little bit of sequins and hemp cord. I had so much fun putting this card together. A touch of glitter to finish the card. Can you tell that […]

RIC #37 – Love You More Than Coupons Card

Hello everyone! Welcome to another Runway Inspired Challenge! This week, we are sponsored by Paper Smooches, which is known for its cute hand drawn images and its puns. I took inspiration from the color combo and made my card: All stamps from Market Fresh set. I masked the right side of the sentiment with a post-it note and continued to stamp the barcode across. I had so fun playing with this week’s challenge, I hope that you can join us too! We are using Paper Smooches stamps but there is no product requirement, just be inspired and play!
