[Guest & Giveaway] Winter Bear by Kay Miller

Hi there! Kay here today sharing a card I created with the adorable Bear & Bird set and the Lacey Flower dies.

The Bear & Bird set is one of my favorites, and I love how versatile it is. I was able to create a winter card with this set by pairing it up with the Lacy Flowers dies, which look like snowflakes!

First using watercolor paper and Peerless watercolors, I created a soft watercolor wash for the background. I did not come all the way to the bottom of the paper with my wash to make it look like white snow on the ground.

I cut out several of the Lacy Flowers dies and adhered them with liquid glue to my watercolored piece, then I colored all of the cute images with Copic markers, and cut them out with the matching dies.

I adhered the images with foam tape and stamped the sentiment with black ink. I added a few clear sequins to finish it up.

I hope you have enjoyed my card today! Thank you so much for stopping by!

Kay :)

[Guest & Giveaway] Happy Day Distress Oxide Background by Julie Faherty

Hello all! We have special guest joining us today for another guest feature with another $10 gift certificate to giveaway as well! Today we have the very talented Julie Faherty joining us! She has an amazing style and I know you will love the awesome card and video!

Hi Everyone! My name is Julie and I have the opportunity to be a guest today with Waffle Flower Crafts.

Today I am going to be creating a card using the Happy Day Stamp and Die set by Big Bear and Bird and create a colorful background using Ranger Ink Distress Oxides.

To create a banner look with each sentiment for the background, using the grids on the stamping block and lining them up with the lines on the graph paper helped me keep the words in a straight line as much as possible.

Over the stamped images I used some Ranger Ink Distress Oxides (Cracked Pistachio, Worn Lipstick, Broken China and Fossilized Amber) and sprayed some water onto the ink to create the oxidized and chalky look. For the bear, I embossed the stamped image with clear embossing powder so the black ink would be glossy and stand out against the background. To color in the bear I used the Distress Oxide ink again in Vintage Photo with a mini blending tool.

With a water brush pen I filled in the flowers and wheels of the bike with the same colors used for the background. I also used the matching die to cut the bear out and adhered to the background with some iridescent sequence to make the card a little sparkly! Finally, I adhered the card to the background using some 3M tape.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Julie

Awesome right?! Thanks so so much Julie! And don't forget to leave a comment below by Friday, May 26th for a chance to win a $10 certificate to our online store.

[Guest & Giveaway] Feel Better by Kay Miller

Hi there! Kay here to share a card with you today that I created using the Flower circle Dies along with the sweet Bear & Bird stamp set and coordinating dies. I loved the Flower Circle Dies as soon as I saw them and knew there would be a lot of fun ways to use them.

I started by cutting two of the outer petal shapes out of a coral card stock and a lighter shade of the same color. I added foam tape to the back of one and adhered it to the other offset, so you could see the darker petals below. I cut the inner circle out of white card stock and stamped the sentiment in the center. I glued the sentiment circle flat onto my white card base, then adhered the flower petals over that with foam tape.

I then colored all of the cute images from the Bear & Bird stamp set with Copic markers, then cut them out with the coordinating dies. I adhered these around the flower petals in a pleasing shape with foam tape. I then added some white accents with White Nuvo Crystal drops.

Don't forget to leave a comment to this post by this Wednesday, May 24 for your chance to win a $10 gift certificate to http://waffle flower.com!

I hope you have enjoyed my card today! Thank you so much for stopping by!

Hello everyone and welcome to day 8 of Waffle Flower’s 3 year Anniversary Celebration! I am so excited to share with you all today’s video! Today we are very fortunate to be collaborating with the wonderful Alexandra Renke and I use several of her products to create a two fun cards! I hope you enjoy!

Watch below or on our YouTube channel.

Card 1

First, I trimmed down the Watercolor Rose Design Paper to 5 1/8” square panel. I then embossed it with the Hearts embossing folder. Next, I stamped several images from the Sweets Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I then colored all the images with Marvy Le Plume Fine Brush markers. I then diecut the images with the Sweets matching dies.

Next, I arranged the floral images in a heart frame and then glued them onto the embossed panel. I then adhered the remaining images with foam tape and then adhered the panel onto a 5.25 square cardbase. Next, I stamped and white embossed a sentiment onto a strip of black cardstock. I then adhered the sentiment to the card using foam tape.

Card 2

For this card I started by trimming down the Wood Structure - Light Gray Design Paper to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. I then embossed the panel using the Falling Stars embossing folder. Next, I ink blended Memento Tuxedo Black Ink over the raised stars. I then stamped “Hey. Good Luck” and some of the stars from the Big Day Stamp Set in Hero Arts Soft Granite using my MISTI.

Then I slide my panel down and to the left and then stamped it all again but this time in Versafine Onyx Black to create a dimensional look. Lastly, I adhered my panel down onto a black A2 card base and then added some additional accents to the letters and stars with a white gel pen.

I hope you enjoyed and don’t forget to comment for your chance to win a ton of amazing high quality design paper as well as the Heart within the Center and the Falling Stars embossing folders by Alexandra Renke. Thanks for stopping by!

Celebrating Year 3 - Tombow Dual Brush Pens

Hello everyone! Welcome to Day 6 of Waffle Flower's Year 3 Celebration!

We've invited some friendly companies in the industry to join us! We use and love their products and want to share them with you! We will feature one company per day in a video till May 18 with lots of prizes to win!

We have our design team member Channin here today! Take away, Channin!

-----

Hello everyone and welcome to day 6 of Waffle Flower Crafts 3 year celebration!! I’m just thrilled to be here with you all with a new video share! Today we are collaborating with the tremendous Tombow and oh boy do we have a fantastic giveaway for today, 4 sets (Bright, Primary, Secondary, and Grayscale) Dual Brush Pens! And these markers are my new favorite things!!

Watch below or on our YouTube channel.

Card 1

First, I did some ink smooshing using 4 Dual Brush Pens (346, 476, 493, 133). I simply colored with all markers on a piece of acetate then misted it with water and then turned it over smooshed the acetate down onto a 4.25” x 5.5” panel of watercolor paper. I then allowed by panel to dry and then ink smooshed a little more with 493 and 133.

Next, I stamped several images from the new Stay Cool Stamp Set in Versafine Black Onyx Ink (a waterproof ink) on watercolor paper. Once the images were dry (I dried them with my heat gun because I’m impatient) I colored them with the Dual Brush Pens (Bear-933,992,977; Trunks/umbrella-885; Towel/Leaves-158,133; Bird-055,993; Coconut-992,977; Book-346,493) and used a waterbrush to blend the colors together and create a gradation. Once the images were dry I diecut them out using the matching dies. Next, I stamped and white embossed the sentiment on a strip of black cardstock and then trimmed my dry watercolor panel down 1/16” on all the sides. I then adhered all my diecuts using Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue to my panel and then adhered my panel onto a black A2 card base using a Tombow Mono Adhesive + Permanent tape runner. Lastly I trimmed by sentiment and adhered it down with foam tape.

Card 2

For this card I started by stamping the wave and bird in inner tube from the Stay Cool Stamp Set in Versafine Onyx Black Ink onto a 4.25” x 5.5” panel of watercolor paper. I then masked the bird and stamped the wave over the bird and stamped the bear’s head, fish, sunglasses, and sentiment all in Versafine onto my panel.

Next, once the images were dry, I colored them using the Dual Brush Pens (Water-346,493; Bear-933,992,977; Bird-055,993,743; Leaves-158,133; Innertube-885,925; Fish-933,925) and used a waterbrush to blend the colors and create my gradations. Lastly, I trimmed by water color panel down a 0.25” at the top and then adhered my panel down using Tombow Mono Adhesive + Permanent tape runner onto a A2 black card base.

I hope you enjoyed and don’t forget to comment for your chance to win these 4 sets of Dual Brush Pens by Tombow. Thanks for stopping by!
