[Guest & Giveaway] Pretty Wings by Wanda Guess

Hi again! It’s Wanda, and I’m so happy to be joining you here on the Waffle Flower Blog again in this beautiful month of June! Today I’m sharing a card I made using the new Pretty Wings stamp set and dies. For this project, I used all three sizes of the beautiful daisy stamps! I used a color palette that is warm and rich, like a Summer heat wave.

I started with an A2 card base made from wood grain paper. The I used the Lacy Layers Dies to cut a rectangular window in the front of the card. I offset it slightly into the upper right corner of the card. Since the area behind was brown, I layered a piece of white cardstock. I later stamped my sentiment onto this white piece.

I stamped and die cut several daisies using red, yellow and orange ink. All the centers are stamped in black ink to add a pop! I layered the daisies around the window opening of the card. I also die cut some of the Greenery dies using bright green paper. Everything was then layered and attached to the card. These colors are so fresh.

Here is a side photo of the completed card. This is a really fun card layout and you could use a circle, a square, or any other shape, for the opening.

I stamped the "THANKS" sentiment just above the green leaves in the bottom right of the opening.

BIG hugs and thanks to Waffle Flower for inviting me to be a guest designer during June. I’m grateful for the chance to be featured here and to share with everyone! Have an amazing week!

[Guest & Giveaway] Heatwave! by Wanda Guess

Hi everyone! It’s Wanda here, and I’m so very excited to be a guest designer for one of my very favorite companies! I adore Waffle Flower stamps and dies and love any chance I can get to work with these creative and beautiful products. I’m sharing a tropical card today made with the super cute Heatwave Stamp Set and Matching Dies. I mixed in some of my other favorite new dies too! I’m a sucker for tropical leaves right now - so on trend!

At first I was going to make this card big and bold with red and lime green and yellow. Then I had another thought… What if I go with a 1950’s Palm Beach vibe? I love the result of working with mint green, soft pink and grey. It’s amazing how much a color palette can affect the mood of a design. I like to shake it up a bit with my colors.

I started with a medium grey card base cut and scored to A2 size. Then I stamped and die cut out all the clothing and accessories pieces. I used the same colors on all the pieces to give a cohesive look to my card. Each of the items was later affixed to the card using foam tape.

I used the beautiful Lacy Layers Dies to create a white scalloped layer for the focal point of the card. I wrapped a piece of matching twine around the bottom before attaching it to the card front. Next I die cut some gorgeous leaves from the Greenery Die Set. I like to sprinkle some white color mist onto solid die cuts to break up the color and add just a bit of something!

It was really fun to assemble this card! I tried lots of ways, but ended up loving the leaves at the top with the sentiment, from the Pretty Wings Stamp Set, in a matching scalloped frame. And then the clothes and accessories lined up below. I added a few pink enamel dots to finish it off and glued a tiny bow onto the twine. This would make a really fun card for a girlfriend, or a shower, or just because!

I just want to say a giant THANK YOU to Nina and the crew at Waffle Flower for inviting me to be a small part of the action around here! I’ll be back with another project next week! Take care!

[Guest & Giveaway] Balloon Puppies by Samantha Mann

Hello! Samantha here and today I'm BEYOND excited to be a small part of the Waffle Flower family!

I was lucky enough to get to work with the On My Mark stamp set and, I created two ADORABLE cards to share with you! :) For my first card, I created an ink blended background with Distress Inks in Peacock Feathers, Blueprint Sketch, Twisted Citron and Cracked Pistachio! LOOOOOVE that color combo! :)

I colored directly onto the CUTE puppy and balloon stamps with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then spritzed with a tiny bit of water and stamped them onto my cardstock! After I stamped the images, I did go back and smooth out the colors with my markers, just a smidge! Once it was dry, I added some white gel pen accents and fussy cut out the images - but if YOU wanted to make this card, too, you could use the dies! I popped up the images with foam tape, and the sentiment banner too!

My 2nd card was totally inspired by my first card, and so I created it, with a video!!

You can check out the video here! And here's a secret - it's my first video! Eeee! Be kind! Ha! :)

Thank you SO much for hanging with me today on the Waffle Flower Crafts blog! I am beyond humbled and excited to be here, and I'll never forget that cute cute puppy! Ha! :)

[Guest & Giveaway] Lotus Shaker Card by Julie Faherty

Hello everyone! The fantastic Julie Faherty is guesting with us one more time today and this week she has a gorgeous shaker card with an amazing VIDEO to share! Scroll down to check out her video to get all the deets! And don't forget to leave a comment below to be entered into a drawing for a $10 gift certificate!

Hi Everyone! Julie here and am guesting again today with Waffle Flower Crafts. Today I will be creating a fun and easy shaker birthday card using the Lotus stamp and die set.

I am going to use the die of the large lotus flower and cut that out of a piece of card stock. For this card I am going to be using the negative of the die cut for the front of the card.

Next I am going to use some Ranger Ink Dylusions ink sprays which are some of my favorite inks to use and spray them into an empty paint palette. Using a water brush and stamping block I am going to flick the ink off of the stamping block onto my card stock with each of the colors.

Using some Smooth Bristol Card Stock I am going to use the same colors (Pure Sunshine, Bubble Gum Pink and Funky Fuchsia) to create the background of my card.

For the front part of the shaker I am going to use some acetate that works really well when embossing. Using the lotus stamp that matches the die we used earlier, I am going to stamp the flower image with some Versamark ink and then use some yellow embossing powder.

I am then going to line up our stamped image inside of the piece of die cut card stock and adhere the piece of acetate to the back of the card stock.

Using some foam tape and I stuck two pieces together to add some height and placed the tape around the flower image create a little box and also added the tape to cover the back of the card stock. Inside the little box where the flower is added some clear beads, glitter and colored sequence that match the background and then place our background on top and close the little box securely with the glitter and sequence.

Using some adhesive I place our finished piece on the card and the card is complete.

I hope you enjoyed this video and hope you have a great day! Thanks so much for stopping by!

[Guest & Giveaway] Winter Bear by Kay Miller

Hi there! Kay here today sharing a card I created with the adorable Bear & Bird set and the Lacey Flower dies.

The Bear & Bird set is one of my favorites, and I love how versatile it is. I was able to create a winter card with this set by pairing it up with the Lacy Flowers dies, which look like snowflakes!

First using watercolor paper and Peerless watercolors, I created a soft watercolor wash for the background. I did not come all the way to the bottom of the paper with my wash to make it look like white snow on the ground.

I cut out several of the Lacy Flowers dies and adhered them with liquid glue to my watercolored piece, then I colored all of the cute images with Copic markers, and cut them out with the matching dies.

I adhered the images with foam tape and stamped the sentiment with black ink. I added a few clear sequins to finish it up.

I hope you have enjoyed my card today! Thank you so much for stopping by!

Kay :)

[Guest & Giveaway] Happy Day Distress Oxide Background by Julie Faherty

Hello all! We have special guest joining us today for another guest feature with another $10 gift certificate to giveaway as well! Today we have the very talented Julie Faherty joining us! She has an amazing style and I know you will love the awesome card and video!

Hi Everyone! My name is Julie and I have the opportunity to be a guest today with Waffle Flower Crafts.

Today I am going to be creating a card using the Happy Day Stamp and Die set by Big Bear and Bird and create a colorful background using Ranger Ink Distress Oxides.

To create a banner look with each sentiment for the background, using the grids on the stamping block and lining them up with the lines on the graph paper helped me keep the words in a straight line as much as possible.

Over the stamped images I used some Ranger Ink Distress Oxides (Cracked Pistachio, Worn Lipstick, Broken China and Fossilized Amber) and sprayed some water onto the ink to create the oxidized and chalky look. For the bear, I embossed the stamped image with clear embossing powder so the black ink would be glossy and stand out against the background. To color in the bear I used the Distress Oxide ink again in Vintage Photo with a mini blending tool.

With a water brush pen I filled in the flowers and wheels of the bike with the same colors used for the background. I also used the matching die to cut the bear out and adhered to the background with some iridescent sequence to make the card a little sparkly! Finally, I adhered the card to the background using some 3M tape.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Julie

[Guest & Giveaway] Feel Better by Kay Miller

Hi there! Kay here to share a card with you today that I created using the Flower circle Dies along with the sweet Bear & Bird stamp set and coordinating dies. I loved the Flower Circle Dies as soon as I saw them and knew there would be a lot of fun ways to use them.

I started by cutting two of the outer petal shapes out of a coral card stock and a lighter shade of the same color. I added foam tape to the back of one and adhered it to the other offset, so you could see the darker petals below. I cut the inner circle out of white card stock and stamped the sentiment in the center. I glued the sentiment circle flat onto my white card base, then adhered the flower petals over that with foam tape.

I then colored all of the cute images from the Bear & Bird stamp set with Copic markers, then cut them out with the coordinating dies. I adhered these around the flower petals in a pleasing shape with foam tape. I then added some white accents with White Nuvo Crystal drops.

I hope you have enjoyed my card today! Thank you so much for stopping by!
