Hello everyone!

Welcome to Day 3 of Waffle Flower's Year 3 Celebration!

We've invited 9 friendly companies in the industry to join us! We use and love their products and want to share them with you! We will feature one company per day in a video till May 18 with lots of prizes to win!

Today's video is created for you by our design team member Katie Gehring!

---

Hello Waffle Flower friends,

Katie Gehring here. Today, in honor of Waffle Flower Craft’s third birthday celebration, I have a video to share with you showing how I made a special interactive card featuring Chibi Lights.

My video shows step by step how I built the circuit and includes several tips for creating a successful connection. I hope you’ll take a peek and be inspired to feature some electrical engineering on your next card project!

To start, I stamped and heat embossed the images from the Eat Cake stamp set with silver embossing powder. I also added the cake image from the Big Day stamp set before adding watercolor with Distress Inks (Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry, Wild Honey, Shaded Lilac, Scattered Straw, Tumbled Glass, and Shabby Shutters).

I pierced holes where the candle flames would be on the stamped and watercolored panel to allow the light to shine through; then I built the light circuit on my note card base. I positioned the battery for the circuit or the "press point” directly below the heart. When the recipient presses on the heart image, the candles will light up!

Thanks for stopping by!
Katie

[Guest & Giveaway] Colorful Enveloper by Kay Miller

Hi there! Kay here today to share a really bright and fun card with you today using the Enveloper Little Birdie stamp set!

For this card, I used watercolor paper, and it's sometimes hard to get a real good impression with the texture, so I used my MISTI stamping tool to stamp the flowers along the bottom a couple of times, with some waterproof black ink.

I then watercolored the flowers with Peerless watercolors in bright colors and let some of the paint blend up in the sky like a rainbow.

I blended some Distress ink along the top and then sprinkled with water to get the lighter splotches. After everything was good and dry, I added some dots above the flowers with acrylic paint in the same colors, and some white dots on some of the flowers themselves. I also took my distress markers and added some lines on the leaves for a little extra detail.

I mounted this panel onto a white card base, then added the sentiment, which was stamped using the Bear & Bird Stamp Set and then embossed with white embossing powder, and cut out with a banner die. I hope you have enjoyed my card today!

Don't forget to leave a comment to this post by this Friday, May 12 for your chance to win a $10 gift certificate to http://waffle flower.com!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

[Guest & Giveaway] Bear & Bird Sweetness by Kay Miller

Hello! Kay here with another guest post for Waffle Flower using the adorable Bear & Bird stamp set and matching dies. This set has the sweetest images and I love the flowers that are included!

I started off with a piece of Canson Bristol Board, and stamped the flower images with waterproof black ink. I watercolored everything with Distress Inks.

I stamped the bear, banner, sentiment, and flowers with waterproof ink again, watercolored those, and cut them out with the matching dies.

I adhered my watercolored background to a kraft card base with foam tape, then adhered the bear and sentiment with foam tape as well. I tucked the little bouquet of flowers underneath the slit in the bears hand.

I hope you have enjoyed my card today! I'll be back in May with some more fun projects with Waffle Flower products!

Don't forget to leave a comment to this post by this Friday April 28 for your chance to win a $10 gift certificate to http://waffle flower.com!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

[Guest] Hello Stampurr with Distressed Background by Kay Miller

Hello! It's Kay here and I’m super happy to be guesting with Waffle Flower Crafts for April and May! They have some really fun designs and I can’t wait to share my projects with you!

For my first card, I used an adorable stamp set called Hello Stampurr, along with the coordinatng dies.

To create my background, I used some painter's tape and placed a piece just slightly lower than the center line and blended some Blueprint Distress ink above the tape. I then speckled that with more of the same ink mixed with some water. After this dried, I blended some Picked Raspberry Distress ink along the bottom, and added some speckles of the same.

I stamped all of the images with black ink, colored them with Copic markers, then cut them out with the coordinating dies.

I stamped the sentiment from Bear & Bird stamp set in black ink, then mounted my card front onto a top folded white card base.

I hope you have enjoyed my card today! I look forward to sharing some more fun projects with Waffle Flower Crafts Products!

Don't forget to leave a comment to this post by this Friday April 21 for your chance to win a $10 gift certificate to http://waffle flower.com!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Kay :)
