In this kit, you’ll find a sample of our new double ended shader brushes. We call these new brushes the plus versions. The original versions are still available while supplies last. In today's video, I focus on comparing the differences and sharing the intended uses for the original and the new Shader Brushes!
0+ and 1+ will be available first on October 5th. They are both round tip brushes. The flat tip versions, namely 2+ and 3+, are set to launch on November 5th, along with a sampler pack for those who want to give them a try before committing. You’ll get 15 0+ brushes in a box, and the the 1+ brushes, both the single-ended and doubled-ended, come in sets of 5.
I know some of you already think the original shader brushes are unique, and perfect for what they were designed for. You might be wondering why we need these new “plus” versions.
Well, as the name suggests, the plus versions allow you to apply a dense layer of ink, very quickly. We designed the original shader brushes for adding colors gradually, you can build up the density by applying multiple layers of ink, but it takes time. As for the new plus versions, they can help you color in really quickly, especially when using stencils.
For example, when using our Fall Leaves stencil from the kit, you can build up the layers and create a nice gradation with the original shader brushes. However, with the plus versions, you can achieve that base color much faster. You can still create a gradation with the new versions. You can use two shades of ink for a gradation, or if you are using a very intense color like what I’m using, you can simply dab off the excess ink on the edge of your stencil, or a piece of scrap paper, and apply the ink with a very light hand. For more tips, please watch my video above.
The double-ended brushes come in packs of 5, which means you get 10 colors out of them—2 for each brush. This is perfect for compact spaces or when you're on the go.
Between the two brush versions, you just need to decide whether you want to achieve a wide range of color using just 1 ink - a more controlled approach using the original brushes, Or less variation in the shades of the ink but a fast application. As for me, I’m glad we have both.
Thank you for joining me today. I hope you enjoy playing with your new club kit as much as I did. I will see you again soon!

Tip One: (which i show in the video):
Use the edge of your scoring tool, like a Scor-Buddy, or even the inside edge of a Misti, to line up your gift packages evenly, and put low tack tape over all of them at once to hold them in place.
Tip Two
Limit your colors to a few that follow each other on the color wheel for easy color harmony. I used pink and orange for my project.

When building a background with die cuts, place your first piece near center and build outward. Try creating your pattern on the diagonal for added interest.
Double-sided adhesives/tape can be used to transfer foils (toner reactive, pressure reactive and heat reactive) without the need for heat or special tools.
Patterned Papers and even 80# card stocks can “warp” from thick applications of Glossy Accents; to minimize, try double or triple layering your die cuts.

When creating shaker cards, look for die shapes that are wide and open--like balloons! These shapes are perfect for allowing the sequins and shaker bits to move around inside. Also, when creating the shaker element, remove the release paper on your foam tape so the foam can be curved and manipulated around your shape.
