Cheers with Alcohol Ink Water by Channin

Hello all! It’s Channin here with a new video! In today’s video I demonstrate how to create a simple alcohol inked background that mimics the look of water and all with only one color of alcohol ink! I also show you how I foil and copic color this cool cat from the Cheers Stamp Set!

Cheers with Alcohol Ink Water by Channin

Watch below or on our YouTube channel.

I started with the alcohol inked background. Onto a sheet of Yupo paper, I dropped droplets of Ranger Sailboat Blue Alcohol Ink and then used Alcohol Blending Solution to dilute the ink and create different values. When I had good ink coverage on my Yupo paper I set it aside to dry. Next, I stamped then copic colored the cat from the Cheer Stamp Set. I then applied adhesive onto the sunglasses with a Decofoil Adhesive Pen. I then applied a small strip of Iridescent Decofoil over the sunglasses and then die cut the cat out with the matching die. Next, I heat set the foil by running the image through my laminator.

I then cut three 1.75” x 3” rectangles of white cardstock and then stamped the sentiment from the Cheers Stamp Set onto one with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. Next, I adhered all of the rectangles together with the stamped one on top. I finished my card by die cutting the alcohol inked background using the largest die from the A2 Nesting Rectangles 1 Die set, then adhering it and the sentiment to an A2 top-folding card base. Lastly, I adhered the cat with foam tape above the sentiment.

I hope you enjoyed today’s video and card! Thanks so much for stopping by and see you Thursday with a new video!!

Layering Dye Inks and Pattern Stamping by Channin

Hello all! It’s Channin here with a new video! In today’s video I share with you a classic technique but one of my all time favorites, layering dye ink! The two cards you will see me demo today is just the tip of the ice burg of all endless fun you can have with color and pattern with a great pattern set like the Arrowhead Stamp Set and a variety of dye inks.

Layering Dye Inks and Pattern Stamping by Channin

Watch below or on our YouTube channel.

I started with two A2 panels of white cardstock. I then stamped a simple pattern with just one of the stamps from the Arrowhead Stamp Set and a rainbow of Waffle Flower Inks (Happy Go Lucky, Daydreaming, New Fish in Pond, Chirp Chirp, You Said What, Oh Happy Day, & My Pleasure) on one of the panels.

On the second panel, I used just two stamps from the Arrowhead Stamp Set and fewer inks (Happy Go Lucky, My Pleasure, Oh Happy Day, & You Said What) to create a different pattern. With my pattern stamping complete, I added a stitched border to both with the largest die from the A2 Nesting Rectangles 1 Die. I then die cut the Mini Arrow Die and the Tiny Painted Heart from white cardstock and white craft foam and then adhered the two together. Next, I die cut a sentiment strip using the Sentiments Die and then stamped and white heat embossed a sentiment using the Moon and Stars Stamp Set. I then used the same stamp set to stamp a sentiment along with some moon and stars on the second panel with VersaFine Onyx Black.

Lastly, I assembled the cards by adhering both panels to A2 top-folding card bases but first I tied some black and white twine to the second panel. I then adhered the heart/arrow embellishment and sentiment strip to the first card panel and then finished everything up by added wink of stella to the moon and stars stamped on the second panel.

I hope you enjoyed today’s cards and video! Thank you so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day!!

Gym Rats and Marvy Uchida Watercolor Pencils by Channin

Hello all! It’s Channin here and today is our final day of our collaboration with Marvy Uchida! In today’s video I demonstrate a simple coloring technique on these cute Hamsters from the Gym Rat Combo set using Marvy Uchida Watercolor Pencils and their Le Plume II Blender. I had a lot of fun with this card and even made the center hamster resemble a certain celebrity, any guesses? Watch the video to find out!

Gym Rats and Marvy Uchida Watercolor Pencils by Channin

Watch below or on our Youtube channel.

First, I stamped several hamsters from Gym Rat Stamp Set the onto 110lb white cardstock in Versafine Onyx Black Ink. I then colored them in with a 24 set of Marvy Uchida watercolor pencils and then blended with the Marvy’s Le Plume II Blender. Once all my images were colored I die cut them out with the matching dies. Next, I stamped a wood floor with the Layering Woodgrain Stamp Set in Coffee Loves Milk onto light brown cardstock. I then trimmed the stamped cardstock to 2.125” x 5.5”. Next I stamped, a rainbow burst onto an A2 panel of white yardstick using the Rain Check Stamp Set an array of Waffle Flower Inks (My Pleasure, Oh Happy Day, You Said What, Chirp Chirp, Happy Go Lucky, and Daydreaming).

I then adhered the woodgrain paper onto the A2 panel and then ran the two together through my die cutting machine with the largest die from the A2 Nesting Rectangles 1 Die to add a stitched border. Next, I adhered all the images to the panel and then adhered the panel to an A2 card base. Lastly, I stamped a sentiment from the Gym Rat Stamp Set onto the card front in Versafine Onyx Black.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card and video! Thank you so much for joining us during or week long collaboration with Marvy Uchida! And don’t forget to check out their Instagram feed next week when they share their projects their team created with Waffle Flower products! Have a wonderful day!

Simple Alcohol Ink Background by Channin

Hello Waffle Flower Friends! It’s Channin here with a new video! In today’s video I share with you how to create a simple yet colorful alcohol ink background which I pair with the fun artsy images from the Little Painters Combo set!

Simple Alcohol Ink Background by Channin

Watch below or on our Youtube channel.

VIDEO

First, I create my alcohol background on a 5x7 sheet of Yupo paper with several Ranger alcohol inks (Citrus, Stream, Wild Plum, Sailboat Blue, & Watermelon). I then set the background aside to try a start working on the images. I start by stamping several images from the Little Painters Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black onto white cardstock. I then colored them with copics (100, C-7, C-5, C-3, C-1, BG10, E00, E21, E37, E29) and then die cut them out with the matching dies. Next, I stamped and white heat embossed a sentiment from the Rainbows Stamp Set onto a black sentiment strip created using the Sentiments Die. I then die cut an A2 panel from the alcohol ink background using the A2 Nesting Rectangles 1 Die. Next, I adhered the panel onto an A2 top-folding card base and then finished up my card by adhering the images and sentiment with foam tape.

I hope you enjoyed my card and video! Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a fantastic day!

United We Flourish: Stitched Together Stamp Set and Matching Die

Hello!! We are so excited to share an amazing set that we created with our friends from Ellen Hutson LLC! With some amazing designs by Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery we have have created a new layering cross stitch stamp set and matching die called Stitched Together. This set is exclusive to Waffle Flower Crafts and Ellen Hutson LLC for the United We Flourish program. To learn more about the UWF program visit our friends at Ellen Hutson by clicking HERE.

Let’s take a look at this fun and unique stamp set and matching die!

The Stitched Together Stamp Set and matching die is a wonderful addition to our stitched collection. Many of our other stitched products would work beautifully with the Stitched Together Combo, I even incorporate a couple in my cards. Let's check them out!

Stitched Together Stamp Set & Matching Die

Watch below or on our YouTube channel.

First, I die cut 3 globes using the Stitched Together matching die out of 110 lb white cardstock. I then used the cardstock I die cut the globes out of as a jig, place it in my MISTI, popped in one of the diecuts and then positioned the first stamp for the globe image. I chose to start with the "stand" layer and stamped this layer on each one of the die cuts.

Two I gold embossed and one I stamped in Versafine Onyx Black. With that layer stamped I then positioned the next layer (water) and then stamped that layer on all the die cuts.

For the water, I stamped two in New Fish in Pond and Peace of Mind and one in Versafine. I repeated this process for the remaining two layers.

I stamped the flowers in Tickled Pink and My Pleasure and the leaves in Distress Oxide Crack Pistachio and Distress Ink Lucky Clover. I also die cut and stamped 3 hearts using the same jig technique.

With my globes all and hearts stamped I moved onto adding some texture my panels.

I started with 3 panels (2 white, 1 black) die cut with the largest die from A2 Nesting Rectangles 1 Die set. I then used the stitched dies from the 7 Skeins Floss Bobbin Die set to add texture to all the panels.

Next, I stamped sentiments from the Stitched Together Stamp Set on each panel. Lastly, I adhered the panels to A2 top-folding card bases and then attached the globes with foam tape and the hearts with glue.

I hope you enjoyed! Thanks for stopping by!

[Technique] Contact Paper and Ink Lifting by Channin

Hello everyone! It’s Channin here with a new technique video! In today’s video I expand upon the ink lifting technique by incorporating contact paper masks!

[Technique] Contact Paper and Ink Lifting by Channin

Watch below or on our YouTube channel.

To start I die cut several flowers and leaves from a 6” x 6” piece of contact paper with the Bouquet Builder Matching Dies. Once die cut I saved the die sheet as well as the die cut flower and leaves.

Next, I ink blended distressed oxides (1:Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean, Wilted Violet; 2: Picked Raspberry, Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade) onto 2 A2 panels of Bristol paper die cut using the largest die from the A2 Nesting Rectangles 1 Die set.

I then heat set the panels and then removed the backing on the contact paper die cuts and adhered them to the panels. I adhered the sheet to one panel and the die cuts leaves and flowers to the other.

Next, with a wrung out chamois cloth, I lifted the ink off the panels by pressing the chamois to the paper. Once I finished lifting the ink off the surface, I removed the contact paper and then stamped and white heat embossed some flowers and leaves from the Bouquet Builder Samp Set onto the panels.

Next, I created my sentiments by stamping and heat embossing sentiments from the Rainbows Stamp Set onto strips of black cardstock. To finish the cards, I adhered the panels onto A2 top-folding card bases and then adhered the sentiments with foam tape.

I hope you enjoyed today’s video and technique! Thanks so much for stopping by!

[Interactive] Therefore I Am Pull Tab Card by Channin

Hello all! It’s Channin here with a fun interactive card to share! In today’s video I demonstrate how to create a pull tab card using the new Therefore I Am Set by Big Bear and Bird. This card also has a really fun reveal of bear’s buddy, bird, hiding under bear’s chef’s hat!

[Interactive] Therefore I Am Pull Tab Card by Channin

Watch below or on our YouTube channel.

First, I die cut a notch for the pull tab using the Pull Tabs Die set from two A2 panels (4.25” x 5.5”), one made from white 110lb cardstock and the other from light blue cardstock. I then die cut the light blue panel with the largest dies from the A2 Nesting Rectangles 1 Die set and the Nesting Circles 2 Die set.

Next, I ink blended a little You Said What Dye Ink onto the lower portion of the white panel with a mini ink blending tool. I then stamped, copic colored, and then die cut with the matching dies images from the Therefore I Am Stamp Set and the Bird & Bird Stamp Set. Next, fussy cut the spoon away from the bird die cut and touched with white gel pen any remaining ink from the spoon.

I then die cut the pull tab track into the white panel and then die cut the remaining pull tab mechanisms from white and blue cardstock with the Pull Tabs Die set. I then assembled my pull tab and then adhered the blue front panel and bear with foam tape. I then adhered the bird to the pull tab and adhered the remaining die cuts with Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue. Lastly, I added Wink of Stella to the flowers and berries to add a little sparkle.

I hope you enjoyed today’s video and card! Thanks so much for stopping by!

[Technique] Ink Extracting with a Chamois by Channin

Hello all! It's Channin here and I have a really fun technique that I’m super excited to share with you all today! In today’ s video I will demonstrate how to create some beautifully textured backgrounds with a very simple ink extracting technique. Best part is you most likely already have all the supplies you need to give this a try!

[Technique] Ink Extracting with a Chamois by Channin

Watch below or on our YouTube channel.

First, I die cut an A2 panel from Bristol paper using the largest die from the A2 Nesting Rectangles 1 Die Set.

I then ink blended either distress inks or oxides over the entire panel.

I then bundled up a wrung out chamois and bounced it over the surface of the blended panel.

I then stamped, copic colored, and then die cut with the matching dies several images from the Bouquet Builder Set.

Next, I stamped and white heat embossed sentiments from the Rainbows Stamp Set onto black cardstock.

Lastly, I adhered the panels onto A2 top-folding card bases with liquid adhesive and then adhered the flowers and sentiments with foam tape.

I hope you enjoyed today’s technique and will give it a try yourselves! :) Thanks for stopping by!
