My striped background was stamped using the Plaid Play stamp set.

And the images for my sentiment greeting card were from both the Summer Time and Balloon Messages stamp sets.

Finally, just in case, I added some instructions on the envelope using the Open Here Stamp Set.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you have a great day!

[Fun Friday] Rectangle Frame Card by Therese

Hello! Therese here and today it’s time to make a Rectangle Frame Card!

[Fun Friday] Rectangle Frame Card by Therese

Watch below or on our YouTube channel.

To begin I used the A2 Nesting Rectangle 2 Dies to decorate and die cut my frame. Then I added some simple score lines before folding it to fit the front of my card. I added a sweet Copic colored elephant from the Jungle Birthday set and gave him a balloon to hold from Balloon Messages Set.

To finish my scene I added some white marble clouds using the Layering Marble Stamp Set in the background. The sentiment I used came from the Rock On Stamp Set and was stamped with the New Fish In Pond Ink.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you have a great day!

[Technique] Credit Card Painted Backgrounds by Channin

Hello Waffle Flower friends! It’s Channin here and I have a fun and unique technique to share will you all today! In today’s video I demonstrate how to create some colorful backgrounds using Distress Oxides and a credit card! I use the fabulous Cross Stitched Heart Die, Magical Flower Border Die, and Magical Butterfly Die to complete the cards.

[Technique] Credit Card Painted Backgrounds by Channin

Watch below or on our YouTube channel.

I created 2 painted backgrounds on A2 panels (4.25” x 5.5”) of watercolor paper with Distress Oxides (Picked Raspberry, Wild Honey, Peacock Feathers, & Wilted Violet) and a credit card. I transferred the watered-down oxides to the watercolor paper using an old credit card with a swiping motion. I started with my lightest shade first (Wild Honey) then worked my way through the other colors, but did stop to dry with my heat gun when my paper got too wet.

my backgrounds were completed and completely dry, I die cut one of them with the Cross Stitched Heart and the largest die from the Stitched Layers Die set. I then die cut an A2 panel of white cardstock with the largest die from the Stitched Layers Die set and set aside both pieces, the frame and the panel, for later.

I then die cut another A2 panel of white cardstock with the Magical Flower Border Die and the Magical Butterfly Die and set the pieces aside. Next I stamped and white heat embossed sentiments from the Balloon Messages Stamp Set on the watercolor heart panel and remaining watercolor background.

I then assembled my cards. I adhered the heart panel to the white panel die with the Stitched Layers die with liquid glue. Then I adhered the panel to an A2 top-folding cardbase (4.25” x 11”, scored at 5.5”) with layer of craft foam. Next, I adhered the remaining white frame to the cardbase.

For the second card, I adhered the background to an A2 top-folding cardbase (4.25” x 11”, scored at 5.5”) with liquid glue. Then I finished up the card by adhering the flower border and butterfly with glue and foam tape.

I hope you enjoyed my cards and inspired you to give this fun technique a try!

Thanks for stopping by!

[WIW] Food Adventure by Channin

Hello everyone! It’s Channin here with a fun card design using the awesome new Food Adventure Stamp Set designed by Mike Lowery. I love the illustrations in this set and thought they would be perfect for creating my own illustrated map. I decided this would be perfect for my foodie brother so I chose foods and dishes which I know he loves and created basically a map for his prefect day! ;)

[WIW] Food Adventure by Channin

Watch below or on our YouTube channel.

First, I stamped all my chosen images from the Food Adventure Stamp Set and the Drink to That Stamp Set and arranged them on an 4 1/8” x 5 3/8” panel of bristol paper and picked them up with my MISTI. I then added a circle from the Purse-nality Stamp Set and a star from the Big Day Stamp Set to create a starting point and finishing point. I then stamped all stamps in Versafine Onyx Black Ink and then heat set them to make sure they were dry and I won’t smear them.

Next, I drew a dashed path connecting all the images with a permanent marker. I then watercolored with Distress Ink Salty Ocean around the images and path. Once I had finished the background, I partially watercolored some of the images in Distress Ink Spiced Marmalade. Once, all my painting was done, I adhered by panel to an A2 white 110lb card base and stamped a sentiment from the Balloon Messages Stamp Set inside.

I hope you enjoyed! Thanks so much for stopping by!

[Technique] Watercoloring & Doodling with TwinTone Markers by Channin

Hello everyone! It’s Channin here with a new technique video! In today’s video I play with Tombow’s new TwinTone Dual Tip Markers. I love love my Tombow Dual Brush Pens and these new TwinTone Markers share many of the same amazing qualities. The most important being, they both contain water-based ink which makes them perfect for a variety of techniques. Check out today’s video to see how I watercolored and doodled with the TwinTone Markers to add some vibrant color to the Magical Butterfly and Magical Flower Border die-cuts.

[Technique] Watercoloring & Doodling with TwinTone Markers by Channin

Watch below or on our YouTube channel.

First, I die cut the Magical Flower Border Die and the Magical Butterfly from some Bristol paper. I then outlined the die-cuts with several different TwinTone Dual Tip Markers from the Brights Set with the 0.8mm side. Then, with my water brush, I watercolored the die-cuts by activating the marker ink and pulling the color into the white areas. Once the die-cuts were dry I added additional details with the 0.3mm side of the TwinTone markers.

I then stamped and heat embossed a sentiment from the Balloon Messages Stamp Set in sliver on an A2 top-folding black card base. Lastly, I adhered the colored die-cuts onto the card base with liquid adhesive, however, I only placed the adhesive at base of the flower border die-cut and at the center of the butterfly so I could pull and flip the flowers and the butterfly wings away from the card base to create some added dimension.

I hope you enjoyed! Thanks for stopping by!

[Interactive] Fun Friday - Sunbaking Bear Card by Therese

This little sunbaking bear is not going to Stay Cool today!

[Interactive] Fun Friday - Sunbaking Bear Card by Therese

Watch below or on our YouTube channel.

I masked and stamped my scene on the inside of the card using the Stay Cool stamp set and a palm tree from Tiger & Lily. Then I colored the images with Prismacolor Pencils using some nice bright beach colors.

I die cut a window in the front of the card and added a blue card front as well as an Instalove die cut window in white.

My large speech bubble sentiment from Balloon messages was stamped and die cut on some bright yellow cardstock and then added to the card front. I am hopeful that the ice cream will help him cool down and that he doesn’t get too sunburnt!

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you have a great day!

[TT Video] Adding Color with Solid Shapes by Channin

Hello everyone! It’s Channin here, back with a new technique video! This week I’m sharing how to add color to your images without busting out your markers or colored pencils. Plus these colorful designs are quick and easy to create!

POST: [TT Video] Adding Color with Solid Shapes by Channin

Watch below or on our YouTube channel.

Cards 1 and 2

For these first two cards, I first stamped a background of circles using a circle from the Flower Circles Stamp Set in You Said What, Oh Happy Day, My Pleasure, Safe Choice, Happy Go Lucky, Chirp Chirp, New Fish in Pond, and Daydreaming Dye inks on two 4.25x5.25 panels of white 110lb cardstock. Next, I repeatedly stamped a balloon from the Balloon Messages Stamp Set on one panel and then a bowtie from the Bowtiful Stamp Set on the other in Versafine Onyx Black ink. Next, I stamped “It’s your birthday” from the Eat Cake Stamp Set on the panel with balloons and “big boy today” from Big Day Stamp Set on the panel with the bowties. Next, I outlined the stamped sentiments where they overlapped the stamped images with a white gel pen. Lastly, I stamped the sentiments again in Like a Pro but slightly off-set to create a shadow and then mounted the panels onto a top-folding A2 white card base using foam tape and adhesive tape.

Cards 3 and 4

First, I stamped the backgrounds exactly how I stamped my first two cards the only difference is one panel was 4.25x5.5. I then stamped sentiments from the Big Day Stamp Set on both panels in Versafine Onyx Black ink. Next, I stamped images from the Big Day Stamp Set (cake, ice cream cone, and stars) and Stocking Stamp Set (present) around the sentiments on the panels. Then I stamped the sentiments again in Like a Pro but slightly off-set to create a shadow. Lastly, I trimmed the larger panel to 4x5.25 and adhered it to a top-folding A2 black card base and adhered the smaller panel to a top-folding A2 white card base with foam tape and tape adhesive.

I hope you enjoyed! Thanks so much for stopping by!

[Video] Interactive - Image Shaker Card by Therese Calvird

Hello it's Therese here and welcome to Interactive Thursday!

Shaker cards are so much fun to make and to receive, so today I thought it would be great to take it just one step further, by creating my own shaker elements.

[Video] Interactive - Image Shaker Card by Therese Calvird

Watch below or on our YouTube channel.

I created a panel with the Stitched Layers Die and then die cut the jar shape from the Sweets Matching Die Set to create the shaker window. I stamped the jar onto acetate and adhered this behind the window.

I stamped the sentiment from Balloon Messages Stamp Set in both black and My Pleasure Dye Ink. Then I stamped and Copic colored the images that I needed from the Sweets Stamp Set and either die cut or fussy cut these out.

I created my shaker well and added some die cut red glitter hearts and clear glass beads along with the sweet images. Then I attached the panel to the front of a topfold card. Finally, I grounded the jar image with a grey shadow and popped the the two little girls up on the card front.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you have a great day!

[TT Video] Altering Diecuts to Make Paper Art Cards by Channin

Hello all!! It’s Channin here and I have a new technique video to share!! I love paper art and papercutting and this love is what inspired this week’s technique. X-acto knives and scalpels are the typical tools of the trade but luckily for us in the stamping world we have many dies at our disposal making mimicking this amazing art very easy and quick to boot! This week I’m altering some of the gorgeous leaves cut with the Greenery Die set to make some dimensional paper art inspired cards.

POST: [TT Video] Altering Diecuts to Make Paper Art Cards by Channin

Watch below or on our YouTube channel.

First, I created some marble patterned paper using the Layering Marble Stamp Set. There is a new Alignment Guide for this stamp set making positioning the layers a breeze! I used Waffle Flower’s Like a Pro! Dye Ink, Brilliance Starlite Black, and VersaFine Onyx Black inks to stamp my marble patterned paper. Next, I cut 4 pots using the Pots Die set out of the marble patterned paper. I then gathered 4 different shades of green cardstock and cut several leaves using the Greenery Die set. Next, I cut several thin strips using scissors from the green cardstocks to create stems for my potted plants.

Then I arranged all my elements (stems, pot, and leaves) and held everything in place with washi tape once I got the arrangement just the way I wanted. As I arranged, however, I would often alter the leaves by trimming them or folding them to add dimension. Next, using liquid glue with my precision tip glue bottle I applied glue to my arrangement and then adhered it my 5x7 kraft cardbase. Once, my plant had dried I removed the washi tape and then stamped a sentiment using the Bowtiful Stamp Set.

For this second card (my favorite), I followed the same steps as above but I cut thin strips of paper from light khaki paper to create strings to make a hanging potted plant. The sentiment for this card is from the Potted Stamp Set.

Here is my last card. This one showcases the largest leaf from the Greenery Die set. The sentiment is from the Balloon Messages Stamp Set.

I hope you enjoyed!! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hello Waffle Flower friends, On today’s #TBT, I am combining the new Greenery Die with a throwback stamp set featuring some seriously stylish sentiments using brush lettering- the Balloon Messages stamp set. This card was so much fun to pull together and gave me a chance to play with my Distress inks in lots of different ways. I have a video to share with you today showing how all this came together to create a Tropical Birthday card. I hope you’ll take a peek!

[Video]#TBT - Tropical Birthday Card by Katie Gehring

Watch below or on our YouTube channel.   I love the way that the watercolored card stock looks cut into leaves and fronds using the Greenery die. I created the background of the card by blending some yellow shades of Distress Ink. No matter how many times I mist Distress Ink with water, I am still amazed at the dreamy bokeh effect it creates.   Thanks for stopping by!
