[In the Details] Embellishing with Nuvo Drops & Ink Dusting with Nichol Spohr

Hello everyone! It's Nichol here for another "In the Details" for Friday! I stamped and embossed images from the Enveloper Kindness, Enveloper Hello, and a greeting from the Congrats stamp sets on smooth white cardstock using white embossing powder. An Ink Duster brush is a fantastic way to apply the Waffle Flower Oh Happy Day, Chirp Chirp, and New Fish In Pond over the embossed areas for embossed resist. The Ink Duster makes applying the ink smoothly without blotches SO super easy! It’s a fantastic way to create some great effects with dye inks!

[Video] Embellishing with Nuvo Drops & Ink Dusting

Watch it below or on our Youtube Channel Nuvo Crystal Drops are a quick and effective way to embellish the Enveloper Kindness and Enveloper Hello stamped and embossed images on these birthday greeting cards. Drops of all sizes can be created with the Nuvo drops and they add a bit of dimension, lots of color and so much interest to these images! The Nuvo drops work a lot like Glossy Accents as well. A dimensional greeting die cut from cardstock adhered to Fun Foam using the Celebrate Word die was finished with a layer of Nuvo Crystal Drops to add color and shine to each sentiment. Each card was finished with a stamped birthday greeting on the inside of each card using a Balloon Messages stamp set sentiment and the Oh Happy Day, Chirp Chirp, and New Fish In Pond inks. Supplies

[TT Video] Pattern Stamping and Coloring Outside of the Lines by Channin

on February 07, 2017
Hello everyone!! It’s Channin here and it’s Technique Tuesday! Today I’m sharing one of my favs Pattern Stamping! I just love this simple technique! I saw Jennifer McGuire use this technique awhile back and I just fell in love with it! It’s a relatively simple technique that yields stunning results and it makes great use of your smaller stamps! In fact I had so much fun playing with this technique that I made two very different cards, one that’s simply embossed but still absolutely beautiful and a second one in which I loosely colored with alcohol markers. I hope you enjoy!

[TT Video] Pattern Stamping and Coloring Outside of the Lines by Channin

Watch below or on our YouTube channel. First, I cut two 5x7 panels, one out of pink cardstock and the other out of white, using the Lacy Layers 5x7 Die. I then created my sentiment using the Balloon Messages Stamp Set and mounted in my MISTI in the center of my panels. I then stamped and embossed it in gold on the pink panel and then stamped it again in black on the white panel. Next, I pulled several floral stamps from the Loved Stamp Set and the Wild & Free Stamp Set and arranged them on lower half of half of my panel. I then stamped and embossed these stamps in white for my pink panel and then in just black for my white panel. Next, I finished up the pink panel with some accents added with a white gel pen. Then, I started coloring the white panel with my alcohol markers. Since several of the floral images are pretty solid with little negative space for coloring I decided to color around the images and to keep thing looking constant I colored around all the images not just the solid ones. This was a fun way to color because I didn’t have to stress about staying within the lines. Once my coloring was complete, I mounted my panels to my card bases and my cards were complete! I hope you enjoy and have a wonderful day!! ~Channin Products: Lacy Layers 5x7 Die Balloon Messages Stamp Set Loved Stamp Set  Wild & Free Stamp Set

[TT Video] Wet on Wet Watercoloring by Channin

Hello everyone!! It's Channin here and today I have a fun watercoloring technique to share with you all, wet on wet watercoloring!! Wet on wet watercoloring is a fun and loose way to watercolor. This technique allows for a lot of movement of your colors and yields beautiful varied results. And it’s so fun to watch, it looks and feels like the paint is painting itself!

[TT Video] Wet on Wet Watercoloring by Channin

Watch below or on our YouTube channel. First, I stamped and white embossed many little bags from the Little Gifts Stamp Set on a 5x7 panel of watercolor paper. Next, smooshed a rainbow of Waffle Flower dye inks (Happy Go Lucky, Oh Happy Day, My Pleasure, Daydreaming, and Chirp Chirp) on a big piece of packaging plastic, you could simply use a sheet of acetate or a laminated sheet of white cardstock instead. I then misted my smooshed inks water. Next, with water from a cup dedicated to clean clear water, I painted a couple bags. I then picked up some watered down ink with my brush and transferred it to the bags I previously painted with water. I would often simply allow the ink to move on the surface of the water by itself but sometimes I would tilt my paper to get a little more movement. I continued this process till all my bags were painted. After my bags had dried I painted my background by smooshing Like a Pro dye ink on my palette, watering it down, and then painting around the bags. I then let the background dry and once it was dry I painted shadows around all the bags with some more watered down Like a Pro. I then stamped and white embossed a sentiment from the Balloon Messages Stamp Set on a strip of grey cardstock. Lastly, I adhered my panel onto my cardbase and then adhered my sentiment with some foam tape. I hope you enjoyed! Thanks so for stopping by and have a wonderful day! ~Channin   Products: Little Gifts Stamp Set Balloon Messages Stamp Set Happy Go Lucky Dye Ink Oh Happy Day Dye Ink My Pleasure Dye Ink Daydreaming Dye Ink Chirp Chirp Dye Ink Like a Pro Dye Ink

Hello everyone! It's Nichol here with another video for our In the Details series! Nothing says that ocean water has to be shades of blue and green! This pinkish orange Distress Inked background is the perfect compliment for a Valentine’s or love-themed greeting card scene featuring the adorable images from Little Mermaids, Snail Mail, and Willy and Friends. Mixing and matching elements from several stamp sets is a great way to get the most from your stash!

[In the Details] Mermaid Love by Nichol Spohr

Watch below or on our YouTube channel. Color choices play an important role here and I colored the images in shades of pinks and oranges to compliment a love-themed card, complete with a love greeting from the Balloon Messages Stamp Set. Small details like a black glaze pen for the eyes, a white opaque pen for detail on the seaweed and flower in the mermaid monkey’s hair, and a stardust glitter pen for the jewel and mermaid tail all add that perfect finishing touch. A bright, white frame die cut using Lacy Layers Dies frames up the scene perfectly and some sequins and clear droplets finish off the design. Thanks for stopping by! [In the Details] No Line Coloring with Nichol Spohr

Hello all!! It's Nichol here with another In the Details video! No line watercolored balloons is made super easy with Distress Inks and the balloon images from the Congrats and Balloon Messages Stamp Sets. I stamped the balloons on watercolor cardstock using four shades of Distress Ink and then used a water brush to pull the color from the stamped line and to add additional Distress Ink color when necessary. I love the soft look of the balloons against the Distress Inked background instead of a harsh, black stamped line. I added detailing to the inked background with second generation stamping of the “xoxo” and the small solid heart from the Balloon Messages Stamp Set. I added a stamped greeting from the Congrats Stamp Set with black ink, balloon strings from Balloon Messages stamped with the WF Like A Pro Ink, and a fun foam dimensional die cut greeting using the Celebrate Word Die customized with Distress Inks. An additional greeting from the Balloon Messages Stamp Set finish the inside of the card.

[TT Video] Ink Smooshing with an Acyrlic Block by Channin

on December 28, 2016
Hello everyone!! It’s Channin here! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and have a lot of new crafty goodies to play with!! Today I’m sharing a video demonstrating ink smooshing with an acrylic block. I love how this technique keeps the ink contained yet you still get a lot of play between the colors! I hope you check it out below!

[TT Video] Ink Smooshing with an Acyrlic Block by Channin

Watch below or on our YouTube channel. Card 1: First, I inked up an acrylic block with a rainbow of Waffle Flower inks (You Said What, Oh Happy Day, My Pleasure, Happy Go Lucky, Daydreaming, and Chirp Chirp). I then misted the block with water and then pressed the block onto a panel of water color paper and left it to dry. Once dry I repeated the process and ink smooshed again directly on top of the section I did earlier. I did this so I had fewer white areas. Once the second layer was dry I stamped the balloon strings, balloons, and a sentiment from the Balloon Messages Stamp Set in Versafine Onyx Black ink. I then smooshed Peace of Mind Dye Ink on my acrylic block and misted it with water and then used the watered down ink to paint a shadow around the balloons. Lastly, I took a white gel pen to outline the sentiment and add glares to the balloons. Card 2: I followed a very similar process for this card. I just positioned the stamps differently, used the solid balloon, and didn’t outline the sentiment. I hope you enjoyed! DesignTeamHeadshots-KatieGehring Hello Waffle Flower friends, Katie Gehring here. Happy Thanksgiving to our US friends!  On today’s #TBT, I am sharing an idea for a card brimming with Ho Ho Ho-liday style using non-holiday supplies! My card pairs the Balloon Messages stamp set and dies with the Cutaway Alpha stamp set along with some basic supplies like ink, card stock and gold star sequins. In my video, I’ll also demonstrate how I created my background using just card stock. I hope you’ll take a peek! wfc-20161124-ho-ho-ho-card-katie-1

designteamheadshots-nicholHi everyone! It's Nichol here! Spinner cards are a great way to send an interactive greeting to friends and family. I love that Waffle Flower Crafts has a bunch of mirror image critters and coordinating dies that are perfect for this technique! I grabbed the cat and bunny from the Welcome Spring Stamp Set, the fox from the Trick or Treat Stamp Set (the ghosts would make darling spinners for Halloween!), and the snail from the Snail Mail Stamp Set. wfc_20161118_thankyouspinnercards_nicholspohr   I colored all these images in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and die cut them with their coordinating dies. I sandwiched some thin silver embroidery floss between the two for the spinner element. I created spinner frames with the Lacy Layers and Flower Circles Inverted Dies. wfc_20161118_thankyouspinnercards_nicholspohr_2 A greeting from the Balloon Messages Stamp Set embossed with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder allowed me to use the embossed resist technique on my frames, adding the color I wanted for the frame.

designteamheadshots-nichol Hello everyone! Nichol here and today I'm sharing my design secrets for creating versatile cards that work for many different occasions! Watch my video below to see how I create multiple cards using the same design so I always have the right cards on hand when I need them!

[In the Details Video] Design Tips for Multi-Occasioned Cards by Nichol Spohr

Watch video below or on our YouTube Channel. wfc_20161111_babycongratscards_nicholspohr_1 I created both boy and girl versions of these baby balloons cards using the Balloon Messages Stamp Set & Dies and the Birthday Fishes Stamp Set & Dies. Both are the same design but I simply changed up the colors.   wfc_20161111_babycongratscards_nicholspohr_3 A bit of Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen gives the balloons a nice shimmery shine while a bit of thin twine tied around the balloons gives them the perfect finishing touch. wfc_20161111_babycongratscards_nicholspohr_4 To keep the twine from coming undone in the mail, try sealing the knot with a bit of Glossy Accents. I used clear droplets for bubbles coming up from the fish balloon and added a scattering of iridescent star confetti to add interest to the background. wfc_20161111_babycongratscards_nicholspohr_2 The fishes eye is the perfect size to add a googly eye too for a fun, whimsical touch. I made the Congrats die cut greeting dimensional with a bit of fun foam. Thanks for stopping by!
