[WIW] Dimensional Frame with Surprise Lookie-Loo by Channin

Hello everyone and welcome to another Watch it Wednesday! It’s Channin here and in today’s video I will create a fun little scene with the adorable Books & Coffee Stamp Set and the super versatile Dimensional Frame Die. This simple scene disguises a fun reveal on the inside, plus the surprise little lookie-loo is sure to crack a grin. Check out the video below to see how it all comes together.

First, I repeatedly stamped an A2 (4.25” x 5.5”) panel of kraft cardstock with one of the stamps from the Layering Woodgrain Stamp Set in Distress Oxide Vintage Photo. I then die cut 3 of the larger frames out with the Dimensional Frames Die out of the woodgrain cardstock. Next, created a square frame using two of the dimensional frame die cuts and score tape. I then die cut a square out of the front of an A2 card base (5.5” x 8 1/2”) made from kraft cardstock with a die from the Doily Square Die set.

Next, I stamped a sentiment from the Books & Coffee Stamp Set onto the front of the card with VersaFine Onyx Black. I then stamped several images from the Books & Coffee Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black onto some white cardstock and then colored the images in with alcohol markers. I then used the matching die set to cut the images out but trimmed the bunnies to release them from the rest of the cardstock with a pair of scissors. Next, with a ruler and an x-acto knife I trimmed the remaining dimensional frame to just the front and back sections.

I then attached the square frame to the front of the card with score tape and then adhered the cut sections of frame to the back side of the card front. Next, I adhered one of the rabbits to the inside of the frame front with liquid adhesive and then adhered the other rabbit directly to the back of the first rabbit. Lastly, I glued all the books and the bird to the inside of the card and then stamped the rest of my sentiment and a heart.

I hope you enjoyed! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hello everyone!! It’s Channin here and I’m back with a new technique video! This week’s technique is a combo, Markers Stripes and Inlaid Die Cuts! I had so much fun playing around with these two simple techniques, that I made 5 cards!! I just couldn’t stop playing with color combinations and experimenting with directions of the stripes. Hope you enjoy and maybe try it out for yourselves!

Watch below or on our YouTube channel. First, I traced around the medium square die from the Doily Square Die set on a scrap of white cardstock. I then selected my alcohol marker colors, lined them up in the order I wanted to use them and then made diagonal stripes on over my traced square using the chiseled tip on my markers. Next, I die cut my striped scrap with the medium and small square from the Square Doily Die set. I then rearranged my cuts to create a new pattern and adhered them onto a backing I created by die cutting the medium square from a scrap of white cardstock. Next, splattered some watered down black acrylic paint onto a 5 ¼” square card base (did not splatter on all my cards, I did however, on the one I created in the video). While my splatters dried, I die cut “celebrate” from white craft foam and white cardstock using the Celebrate Word Die. I then adhered these two together and then stamped and white embossed my sentiment from the Congrats Stamp Set on a strip of black cardstock. Next, I mounted my striped inlaid square on foam tape and I mounted onto my cardbase. Now because I wanted a portion of the “Celebrate” to hang off the inlaid panel I then die cut another craft foam “celebrate”, but this time I trimmed off most of the letters and only kept the last 3 and adhered them onto my previous “celebrate”. Next I adhered “celebrate” onto my card base. Then, I added foam tape to the tail end of “It’s your day” and then glued the rest onto my card base. I hope you enjoyed!
