[WIW] Plaid Boo Card by Laura Bassen

Hi there! Laura here and today I have a fun, colorful Halloween project to share featuring the Boo stamp set as well as the Plaid Play stamp set. I used several of the delicious Waffle Flower inks in rainbow colors, of course, to create my plaid pattern.

I stamped the images from the Boo stamp set with Memento ink and colored them with Copics. Then I used the matching Boo dies to die cut each image out and popped them up with foam tape.

For the sentiment I embossed the "boo" in white onto black cardstock and then fussy cut it into a speech bubble.

Thanks for stopping by!

Laura

[In the Details] Monochrome Rainbow Cards by Nichol Spohr

Hello! Nichol here today with some Monochrome Rainbow Cards featuring the new Monochrome Dies as well as the new Scenery Dies. Images from the Monochrome Stamp Set were stamped with black ink and Waffle Flower My Pleasure, Oh Happy Day, You Said What, Chirp Chirp, Daydreaming, and Happy Go Lucky inks. The images were die cut with the coordinating dies.

Backgrounds were inked by masking off portions of cardstock with post it tape and using an Ink Duster to apply Waffle Flower My Pleasure, Oh Happy Day, You Said What, Chirp Chirp, Daydreaming, and Happy Go Lucky inks to form a rainbow rays background.

Borders were die cut from smooth white cardstock using a Scenery Die and layered along the bottom edge of the background. A greeting from the Monochrome Stamp Set was stamped on one of the cloud borders using black ink.

The images were adhered to the backgrounds as shown and the card was finished by applying Glossy accents to some of the images.

Thanks for stopping by!

Repeating Background with Colored Images by Nichol Spohr

Hi friends! Nichol here today with an idea for creating repeating background colored images with the Sweets Stamp Set. Instead of making the Sweets images the embellishment of the card, the images are used to created a custom background by repeatedly stamping the images until the 4” x 5 1/4” white cardstock background is completely full.

[Video] Repeating Background with Colored Images

Watch the video below or on our Youtube Channel.

The images were colored in with Copic Markers and additional colorful hearts were stamped using Tickled Pink, My Pleasure, Oh Happy Day, You Said What, Chirp Chirp, New Fish In Pond, and Happy Go Lucky Inks. The addition of colorful hearts fills in the background nicely. For the greeting, a rectangle was die cut from black cardstock using a Stitched Layers Die. Greetings from the Sweets Stamp Set were stamped with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. The greeting was adhered to the background with foam adhesive. Nuvo Crystal Drops finish off the greeting and Glossy Accents, a white opaque pen, and the Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen add fun detail to the background.

[In the Details] Repeating Pattern Greeting Backgrounds by Nichol

Hello friends! Nichol here today with a card featuring a background with a repeating pattern stamped with greetings from the Pawsome Stamp Set. I took the Tickled Pink, Safe Choice, My Pleasure, Oh Happy Day, You Said What, Chirp Chirp, New Fish In Pond, Daydreaming, and Happy Go Lucky Waffle Flower Inks and repeatedly stamped a background using a sentiment phrase from the Pawsome Stamp Set on smooth white cardstock. The rainbow look is one of my favorites and showcases the gorgeous inks plus makes for a stunning rainbow background!

Watch below or on our YouTube channel.

The panel was die cut with a Patched Layers Die to give a decorative look to the outer edges of the background. Dogs and heart images from the Pawsome Stamp Set were stamped on smooth white cardstock and colored in with Copic Markers before being die cut with the coordinating Pawsome Dies. The dogs were adhered with foam adhesive below the repeating greeting and the hearts and accents were layered over and around the background, matching the rainbow color/order of the design. Glossy Accents was applied over the hearts for a glossy, dimensional finish.

On the inside of the card I stamped the greeting again and finished with rainbow hearts surrounding the greeting stamped with the Waffle Flower Inks.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Nichol

[TT Video] Adding Color with Solid Shapes by Channin

Hello everyone! It’s Channin here, back with a new technique video! This week I’m sharing how to add color to your images without busting out your markers or colored pencils. Plus these colorful designs are quick and easy to create!

POST: [TT Video] Adding Color with Solid Shapes by Channin

Watch below or on our YouTube channel.

Cards 1 and 2

For these first two cards, I first stamped a background of circles using a circle from the Flower Circles Stamp Set in You Said What, Oh Happy Day, My Pleasure, Safe Choice, Happy Go Lucky, Chirp Chirp, New Fish in Pond, and Daydreaming Dye inks on two 4.25x5.25 panels of white 110lb cardstock. Next, I repeatedly stamped a balloon from the Balloon Messages Stamp Set on one panel and then a bowtie from the Bowtiful Stamp Set on the other in Versafine Onyx Black ink. Next, I stamped “It’s your birthday” from the Eat Cake Stamp Set on the panel with balloons and “big boy today” from Big Day Stamp Set on the panel with the bowties. Next, I outlined the stamped sentiments where they overlapped the stamped images with a white gel pen. Lastly, I stamped the sentiments again in Like a Pro but slightly off-set to create a shadow and then mounted the panels onto a top-folding A2 white card base using foam tape and adhesive tape.

Cards 3 and 4

First, I stamped the backgrounds exactly how I stamped my first two cards the only difference is one panel was 4.25x5.5. I then stamped sentiments from the Big Day Stamp Set on both panels in Versafine Onyx Black ink. Next, I stamped images from the Big Day Stamp Set (cake, ice cream cone, and stars) and Stocking Stamp Set (present) around the sentiments on the panels. Then I stamped the sentiments again in Like a Pro but slightly off-set to create a shadow. Lastly, I trimmed the larger panel to 4x5.25 and adhered it to a top-folding A2 black card base and adhered the smaller panel to a top-folding A2 white card base with foam tape and tape adhesive.

I hope you enjoyed! Thanks so much for stopping by!

[In the Details] Custom Backgrounds by Nichol Spohr

Hello! It's Nichol here with an new In the Details video!

Creating your own custom patterned backgrounds is a snap with a layered stamp set. The Pretty Wings stamps makes for a gorgeous background when paired with the awesome Waffle Flower Inks.

[In the Details] Custom Backgrounds by Nichol Spohr

Watch below or on our YouTube channel.

I layered Safe Choice, My Pleasure, Oh Happy Day, You Said What, Chirp Chirp, New Fish In Pond, Daydreaming, and Happy Go Lucky dye inks.

Black paint splatters over the background, add interest and a bit of distressing to the design. In order to still see the butterflies through the greeting, I die cut Lacy Layers from vellum and added a stamped and embossed greeting from the First Step Stamp Set.

Frames were die cut from white and black cardstock using the same dies and layered one on to top of another around the vellum greeting. The background is still visible through the vellum, but slightly muted so it’s still easy to read!

An additional Pretty Wings butterfly was stamped and then die cut before being adhered underneath the greeting, using foam adhesive under the wings to make it appear to have just settled there on the card.

Hope you enjoyed and thanks for stopping by!

Nichol

[In the Details] Rainbow Stitched Unicorn by Nichol

Hello all! Nichol here with a new video for the our In the Details video series!

The new cross stitched stamp sets are perfect for using multiple ink colors on one image. Combining rainbow colors of ink to the mane and tail of the unicorn from the Stitched Unicorn Stamp Set with My Pleasure, Oh Happy Day, You Said What, Chirp Chirp, and Daydreaming Inks adds lots of color and interest to this fun image!

[In the Details] Rainbow Stitched Unicorn by Nichol

Watch below or on our YouTube channel.

The cross stitched stamp designs tends to be very “forgiving” with this particular technique. The main body of the unicorn was stamped with Like A Pro Ink and then the rainbow colors were used for the shooting star image as well!

The greeting was stamped in crisp black ink to really stand out with a scattering of smaller stitched stars throughout the design. The design was finished with a scattering of Nuvo Crystal Drops in Honey Gold and White Blizzard and some Glossy Accents over the unicorn’s eye.

Thanks for stopping by!

[Video]#TBT - Magical Rainbow Stripes with Katie Gehring

Hello Waffle Flower friends, Katie Gehring here. On today’s #TBT, I am sharing a couple of cards I made by pairing the throwback Pattern Play stamp set with the new stamps and dies designed by Helen Dardik. A complete list of my Waffle Flower supplies is below.

[Video]#TBT - Magical Rainbow Stripes with Katie Gehring

Watch below or on our YouTube channel. To create the rainbow stripe background, I stamped a few of the images from the Pattern Play stamp set using Waffle Flower inks. I overlapped the stripes as I worked my way down the card following a loose, rainbow (ROYGBIV) color order. With such a colorful background, I decided to keep the rest of the card pretty simple by die cutting the Magical Butterfly die and Magical Flower Border die from white card stock. I layered it with a bit of gold card stock for a little extra glitz. The sentiment is from the Enveloper Choice stamp set. My next card was one that was almost destined for the trash bin. I was nearly finished with the card and I managed to mess up stamping the sentiment. Never fear, social media to the rescue! I stepped away and got some great suggestions from my friends and fellow card makers. Together we came up with a solution to hide my stamping boo-boo. This sentiment is from the Enveloper Hello stamp set. I hope you’ll take a peek at my video below to see how the cards came together and how the drama unfolded including lessons learned and a new to me product that made adhering these detailed die cuts a cinch.

If there is an older Waffle Flower stamp set or die that you would like to see featured in an upcoming #TBT video, just leave me a comment below. Thanks so much for stopping by! [In the Details] Embellishing with Nuvo Drops & Ink Dusting with Nichol Spohr

Hello everyone! It's Nichol here for another "In the Details" for Friday! I stamped and embossed images from the Enveloper Kindness, Enveloper Hello, and a greeting from the Congrats stamp sets on smooth white cardstock using white embossing powder. An Ink Duster brush is a fantastic way to apply the Waffle Flower Oh Happy Day, Chirp Chirp, and New Fish In Pond over the embossed areas for embossed resist. The Ink Duster makes applying the ink smoothly without blotches SO super easy! It’s a fantastic way to create some great effects with dye inks!

[Video] Embellishing with Nuvo Drops & Ink Dusting

Watch it below or on our Youtube Channel Nuvo Crystal Drops are a quick and effective way to embellish the Enveloper Kindness and Enveloper Hello stamped and embossed images on these birthday greeting cards. Drops of all sizes can be created with the Nuvo drops and they add a bit of dimension, lots of color and so much interest to these images! The Nuvo drops work a lot like Glossy Accents as well. A dimensional greeting die cut from cardstock adhered to Fun Foam using the Celebrate Word die was finished with a layer of Nuvo Crystal Drops to add color and shine to each sentiment. Each card was finished with a stamped birthday greeting on the inside of each card using a Balloon Messages stamp set sentiment and the Oh Happy Day, Chirp Chirp, and New Fish In Pond inks. Supplies

Hello Waffle Flower friends, Katie here with another #TBT. With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, I wanted to share an idea with you for a cheeky sort of love card that’s perfect for any loved ones who are really into their social media. ;) To make this card, I pulled out the Sketchy Alpha stamp set and the Social Icons stamp set and created a custom sentiment to go with all the Social Media icons. [Video] #TBT- Love You More Than Card Watch it below or on our Youtube Channel. I colored in the letters with Copic Markers and drew a sketchy border around the Social Media icon images with a black pen. This sentiment will be perfect for a tween-ager who live-streamed a review of her Christmas Gifts and creates an Instagram Story when there’s a snow day. I have a video to share today of how I created this card. I hope you’ll take a peek to see how it all came together! Thanks for stopping by!
