[Technique] Offset Rainbow Sentiment by Channin

Hello everyone! It’s Channin here with a new technique video! In today’s video I’m doing a lot of stamping to create this colorful Christmas card! By simply stamping a sentiment slightly offset and repeatedly in a rainbow of colors, I create a dimensional and unique one-layer card.

[Technique] Offset Rainbow Sentiment by Channin

Watch below or on our YouTube channel.

First, I arranged all the letters in “Christmas”, except for the last “s”, from the Cutaway Alpha Stamp Set on my MISTI. I then stamped the letters in Daydreaming Dye Ink onto an A2 white card base. I then slid the card upward 1/16”, keeping the side of the card against the side of MISTI, and stamped the letters in a new color (Happy Go Lucky Dye Ink). I repeated this process for several more Waffle Flower inks (Tickled Pink, My Pleasure, Oh Happy Day, You Said What, Chirp Chirp, & New Fish in Pond) and then finished with a final layer in VersaFine Onyx Black. I then thoroughly dried my card with my heat gun.

Next I removed only the “s” from my MIST and then flipped my MISTI around and then positioned the “s” at the end of the word. I then repeatedly stamped the “s” in exactly the same manner as I stamped the rest of the letters. I then heat set my card, repositioned it in the MISTI, and then stamped the “s” in Versamark and heat embossed with glitter embossing powder. I then embossed the rest of the letters in Christmas, by first repositioning the “s” using the card as a guide. Lastly, I stamped and heat embossed “Merry” and some flourishes from the Peace on Earth Stamp Set with VersaFine Onyx Black and Versamark and the same glitter embossing powder.

I hope you enjoyed! Thank so much for stopping by!

[WIW] Frosted Window Trifold Card by Channin

Hello everyone! It’s Channin here for another Watch It Wednesday! This week I demonstrate how to create this charming trifold Christmas card that is perfect for giving a special gift. It’s a definitely crowd pleaser with it’s frosted window panels, a technique I learned from the amazing Jennifer McGuire, and adorable winter scene created with the adorable Cold Hands Stamp Set. Plus this card is perfect for gift giving with the little gift card envelope created with the Gift Bag Die on the inside.

[WIW] Frosted Window Trifold Card by Channin

Watch below or on our YouTube channel.

First, I created the card bases by partially die cutting two A2 card bases made from 110lb white cardstock with the A2 Arch Window Die and the A2 Nested Dome Dies, creating 2 arched shaped card bases, but one with the an arched window front. I then created a mountain mask and pond mask with contact paper simply by cutting them by hand. Then I placed them on the “back” of the arched card base, which will actually become the second fold of this trifold card.

Once the masks were in place, I ink blended with Distress oxides to create the sky (Worn Lipstick, Abandoned Coral, Candied Apple) and pond (Broken China). I then removed the masks and then stamped and copic colored several images from the Cold Hands Stamp Set and 2 greenery branches from the A2 Arched Window Die. Once I had finished coloring all the images I die cut the Cold Hands images with the matching dies.

Next, I adhered the images to the blended scene and then added a arched frame cut from 110lb white cardstock die cut with two A2 Nested Dome Dies. I then stamped a sentiment from the Peace on Earth Stamp Set in distress oxides Abandoned Coral and Candied Apple on the inside of the card base with the window front.

I then die cut another arch out of vellum with the A2 Nested Dome Dies and another arched window out of white cardstock with the A2 Arched Window Die and then glued the two together. Next, I sprinkled a small amounts of white embossing powder over the vellum window and then cleaned up the panes with a small brush. I then heat set the embossing powder with a pre-heated heat gun, applying the heat to the underside of the the window so not to blow the powder off the window.

Once the embossing powder was all set, I simply wiped the window down with a dry cloth to remove any excess powder. I then glue the window to the window card front and then decorated the front of the card with the previously colored greenery branches and mittens. Lastly, I adhered the two card bases together and then added a gift card envelope which I die cut a using the Gift Bag Die out of patterned paper.

I hope you enjoyed! Thanks so much for stopping by!

designteamheadshots_channin Hello everyone! It’s Channin here! I love playing with my stamps, especially simple shapes, and coming up with new ways to use them. This week I took a simple ray/elongated triangle from the awesome Rain Check Stamp Set and created 3 different Christmas tree designs! Watch the video below to get all the details!

[TT Video] 3 Trees, One Stamp with Channin

Watch below or on our YouTube channel. img_2702 photo-dec-11-9-33-38-pm Card 1: For my first card I cut a 4.75” x 6.75” rectangle out of white cardstock and then I die cut the largest dotted rectangle from the Pinking Layers Die set. Next, I used a ruler to make a vertical line down the center and then I stamped 6 triangles using the ray from the Rain Check Stamp Set in Chirp Chirp Dye Ink, New Fish in Pond Dye Ink, and Peace of Mind Dye Ink on either side of the vertical line (3 on each side). photo-dec-11-9-36-13-pm Next, I masked off the bottom of my tree with a post-it-note and then stamped the wider portion of the ray in Coffee Loves Milk Dye Ink to create a trunk. I then thoroughly dried my panel with my heat gun and then stamped and gold embossed a sentiment from the Peace on Earth Stamp Set. Lastly, I punched a star out of glittery gold paper using and adhered it to the top of my tree and then adhered the panel onto my 5” by 7” card base. photo-dec-11-9-34-49-pm Card 2: For my second card I first cut a 4.25” by 5.5” rectangle out of white cardstock and then I die cut the largest dotted rectangle from the Pinking Layers Die set. Next, I used a ruler to mark a vertical line down the center and then I stamped the ray stamp twice (once in Chirp Chirp and then in New Fish in Pond) on either side of the centerline to create a tree. I then created two more trees to the left and the right of my first tree in Chirp Chirp, New Fish in Pond, and Peace of Mind. photo-dec-11-9-34-12-pm Next, using a ruler and a permanent marker I drew a centerline down the middle of the right and left tree and then I drew branches coming out of the centerline on both trees. I then stamped a sentiment from the Peace on Earth Stamp Set in the center of the middle tree with Versafine Onyx Black pigment ink. Lastly, I cut a piece of craft foam to fit my panel, then adhered them together and then onto my 5” by 7” card base. photo-dec-11-9-34-38-pm Card 3: For my final card I started with my 5” by 7” card base. With my card turned horizontally, I repeatedly stamped the ray in Chirp Chirp, New Fish in Pond, and Peace of Mind to create a forest scene. Next, using a ruler and a fine permanent marker I made a vertical centerline in some of the trees and then added branches. photo-dec-11-9-34-20-pm I then stamped a sentiment which I trimmed (I removed the bird and flourishes) from Peace on Earth Stamp Set in Like a Pro Dye Ink. Lastly, I stamped the sentiment again but this time in Versafine Onyx Black pigment ink over my gray sentiment but slightly off-set to create a shadow. Thanks for stopping I hoped you enjoyed and inspired you to experiment with some of your shape stamps! DesignTeamHeadshots-KatieGehring   Hello Waffle Flower friends, On this week’s Throwback Thursday, I am combining the Peace of Earth stamp set along with the Loved stamp set to create a reverse wreath Christmas card. I am really in love with metallic tones for this holiday and this card shines with beautiful touches of copper. I hope you’ll take a peek at my process and find some inspiration for a twist on typical holiday motifs and colors in your paper crafting. wfc-20161201-reverse-wreath-card-katie-1

[TT Video] Contact Paper Masks and Ink Blending with Channin

Hello everyone!! It’s Channin here and today I’m sharing how I make masks for ink blending using contact paper. I love to combine masks and ink blending into my card designs! For one thing I just love the look and second, it is a great way to get more use out of your dies! Masks can be made out of a variety of materials like copy paper, post-it notes, or more commonly masking paper, but I like to use contact paper. First, contact paper is very inexpensive (I got a whole roll at my local dollar store) and second, the back is completely covered in adhesive. Please check out my video below to see how I combined contact paper masks and ink blending to create today’s card! [TT Video] Contact Paper Masks and Ink Blending with Channin Watch below or on our YouTube channel. wfc_channin_112916_1 First, I cut six poinsettia masks using the poinsettia/flower die that is apart of the Lacy Panel Die set out of contact paper. I then ink blended Tickled Pink Dye Ink around the edges of a 5” by 7” white card base using my mini blending tool by Ranger. As I was blending, I was careful to keep the center white and create a gradation out to the edges. wfc_channin_112916_2 Next, I removed the backing on my masks and then stuck them down onto my card in ring or wreath formation. I then blended another layer of Tickled Pink over the inner ring of my poinsettia masks and then blended My Pleasure Dye Ink from the edges to the outer ring. Once my blending was completed I removed my masks and then dried my card thoroughly using a heat tool. wfc_channin_112916_3 Next, I stamped and gold embossed a sentiment from the Peace on Earth stamp set in the center my wreath. I then stamped the sentiment again in black in on a scrap of copy paper and the fussy cut around it leaving a border to create a mask for my sentiment. Then using some painter’s tape, I stuck my mask down over the sentiment and then splattered gold paint over the card. I hope you enjoyed and with give contact paper masks and ink blending a try! ~Channin Supplies: Lacy Panel Die Peace on Earth Stamp Set Tickled Pink Dye Ink My Pleasure Dye Ink

[WIW Video] Gift Bag Duo with Debby Hughes

on November 23, 2016
designteamheadshots_debby     Hello! It's Debby here today for this week's Watch It Wednesday. Today I'll demonstrate how to create two different gift bags using the Gift Bag die set.

[WIW Video] Gift Bag Duo with Debby Hughes

Watch below or on our YouTube channel.   I love extending my Holiday crafting to include tags, gift card holders and bags and today's video is a combination of all three as I'm using the Gift Bag dies to create a gift card holder tag for a gift bag! wfc_20161123_gift-bag_debby_1 I started by stamping an image from Peace On Earth on white card and white heat embossing before blending a light and then a dark green ink over the top. I added watercolor and white gouache splatters and when dry die cut with the Gift Card die. wfc_20161123_gift-bag_debby_2 I created the bag by attaching the gift bag die to a white piece of card the same size and then attached two bag handles cut using the Gift Bag dies. Using the flower dies included I cut and layered a poinsettia to add to the bag. wfc_20161123_gift-bag_debby_3 I added this gift bag, which fits a gift card perfectly, to a larger gift bag I scored and folded from a piece of grey card and used one of the Gift Bag dies to create handles. I then looped red ribbon through the handles of both bags so the smaller bag sat nicely on the front of the larger bag. SUPPLIES Gift Bag Die Peace On Earth Stamp Set

[TT Video] DIY Christmas Tree Stencil with Channin

on November 22, 2016
designteamheadshots_channin Hello everyone! It’s Channin here and today I have several cards to share, all of which I created using a simple stencil that you can make too with just a ruler and a sheet of copy paper! Check out my video or description below to get all the details! :)

[TT Video] DIY Christmas Tree Stencil with Channin

Watch below or at our YouTube channel. wfc_channin_1122_1 First, I created my stencil by sketching out a 5” by 7” rectangle, the size of my card front, on a piece of copy paper using a ruler. I then drew a vertical line down the middle and from that line I drew to angled lines and then connected them at the bottom to create a large triangle for the tree. Under the triangle I made a little rectangle to create the trunk. Then, using an x-acto knife I cut out the simple geometric tree that I had created out. wfc_channin_1122_2 Next, I trimmed down the copy paper to 4 ¾” by 7”. So just slightly smaller than my card, this is because I will now tape my stencil and card inside my MISTI and the size difference will allow the tape to hold both the stencil and card in place. Now, that my card and stencil are taped down I can start stamping. wfc_channin_1122_3 Using several stamps from the Pattern Play Stamp Set I stamped several patterns in Peace of Mind dye ink onto the tree stencil. I then clean and rearrange the stamps and stamp them in New Fish in Pond dye ink and then repeat the process for my final ink color, Chirp Chirp. wfc_channin_1122_4 Once my tree is completely stamped, I remove the stencil and stamp a sentiment from the Peace on Earth Stamp Set in versafine black onyx ink. And that’s it!! Hope you enjoyed and maybe inspired you to create this stencil yourself! ~Channin Supplies: Pattern Play Stamp Set Peace on Earth Stamp Set Peace of Mind Dye Ink New Fish in Pond Dye Ink  Chirp Chirp Dye Ink

#TBT- Alpine Christmas Card by Katie Gehring

DesignTeamHeadshots-KatieGehringHello Waffle Flower Friends, Katie here with another #TBT. Over the summer, my family and I spent time in the national parks.  We were able to see some amazing sights and features of nature, but being a paper-lover, I was charmed and enthralled by the guides, park maps and other bits of ephemera.  I wanted to see if I could create the look of a wintery map, so I did that using the Peace on Earth stamp set combined with the Riverside stamp set and A Homemade Christmas stamp set to made a Christmas Card with the feel of an Alpine village.  I hope you’ll watch my video to see how it all came together! wfc-20161117-alpine-christmas-card-katie-1 [Video] #TBT- Alpine Christmas Card Watch it below or on our Youtube Channel Thanks for watching! designteamheadshots_lauraHi everybody, Laura here! I used the Lacy Flowers dies for the background & the Peace on Earth stamp set for the sentiment. I turned the lacy flowers into glittered snowflakes. I also performed surgery on my Peace on Earth sentiment by trimming off the dove image. This gives more mileage and versatility to stamps.
