Puffy Rainbow with Marvy Uchida by Channin

Hello all! Today starts our week long collaboration with Marvy Uchida! I”m so excited about this week because I have some really fun and unique cards to share with you!! Today I use Marvy Uchida’s Puffy Velvet Markers to create a fun textured card with the Little Painters Set.

Watch below or on our YouTube channel.

To start, I first stamped a paint brush from the Little Painters Stamp Set five times onto Canson Bristol paper in VersaFine Onyx Black ink. I then colored them with Marvy Uchida’s ColorIn Brush Tip Markers, using water and brush to create gradations and soften the color. I then die cut the images out with the matching dies. Next, I colored a rainbow gradation using ColorIn Markers on bristol paper and then die cut the Rainbow Word Die from it. I then trimmed the paint brushes down to create a pyramid shape and and adhered them to an A2 panel with foam tape.

Next, I colored paint streaks with 5 different colors of Marvy Uchida Puffy Velvet markers and heat set them to make them puff. I then die cut a sentiment strip using the Sentiments Die and then stamped and white heat embossed a sentiment from the Rainbows Stamp Set. Next, I took a strip of vellum and wrapped it around my panel, using a tape runner to hold it in place. I then used more tape to adhere the panel onto an A2 top-folding card base. Finished up the card by adhering my sentiment onto the vellum with liquid adhesive.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project and video! Thanks so much for stopping by! See you Wednesday for another project feature Marvy Uchida!

Simple Alcohol Ink Background by Channin

Hello Waffle Flower Friends! It’s Channin here with a new video! In today’s video I share with you how to create a simple yet colorful alcohol ink background which I pair with the fun artsy images from the Little Painters Combo set!

Watch below or on our Youtube channel.

VIDEO

First, I create my alcohol background on a 5x7 sheet of Yupo paper with several Ranger alcohol inks (Citrus, Stream, Wild Plum, Sailboat Blue, & Watermelon). I then set the background aside to try a start working on the images. I start by stamping several images from the Little Painters Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black onto white cardstock. I then colored them with copics (100, C-7, C-5, C-3, C-1, BG10, E00, E21, E37, E29) and then die cut them out with the matching dies. Next, I stamped and white heat embossed a sentiment from the Rainbows Stamp Set onto a black sentiment strip created using the Sentiments Die. I then die cut an A2 panel from the alcohol ink background using the A2 Nesting Rectangles 1 Die. Next, I adhered the panel onto an A2 top-folding card base and then finished up my card by adhering the images and sentiment with foam tape.

I hope you enjoyed my card and video! Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a fantastic day!

Rainbows and Deco Foil by Channin

Hello all! It's Channin here with a new project and video for our collaboration week with Thermoweb! I seriously couldn't wait to share today's project with you all! I had so much foiling rainbows left and right with the Rainbow Panel Die and the beautiful Rainbow and Iridescent Deco Foil Transfer Sheets. Yup, this is going to be good!

Watch below or on our YouTube channel.

I started by creating my background. First, I placed the Starburst Deco Foil Stencil over an A2 panel of white cardstock. I then spread Deco Foil Transfer Gel over the stencil, removed the stencil, and let the panel dry for an hour. While the panel was drying I die cut a rainbow, clouds, and "rainbows" sentiment using the Rainbow Panel Die, Partly Cloudy Die, and Rainbow Word Die from a Deco Foil Toner Sheet. Next, I foiled the rainbow stripes and "rainbows" sentiment die cuts with a Rainbow Deco Foil Transfer Sheet. I then foiled the clouds with an Iridescent Deco Foil Transfer Sheet. Next, I die cut the all the images again (rainbow, clouds, & "rainbows" sentiment) from craft foam. I then adhered the foiled die cuts to their craft foam counterparts.

Next, I die cut a sentiment strip using the Sentiments Die set from black cardstock and then stamped and white heat embossed the rest of my sentiment using the Rainbows Stamp Set. I then foiled my stenciled background panel with more iridescent foil. I then put together my card by adhering the stenciled panel onto an A2 top-folding card base, then adhering the rainbow and clouds to the card front. Lastly, I adhered the sentiment strip and then the "rainbows" die cut over the largest cloud.

I hope you enjoyed today's project and video! And don't forget about the giveaway for a $25 Thermoweb gift certificate and a $25 Waffle Flower Crafts gift certificate. To enter please leave a comment below by Monday, June 4th!

[Technique] Contact Paper and Ink Lifting by Channin

Hello everyone! It’s Channin here with a new technique video! In today’s video I expand upon the ink lifting technique by incorporating contact paper masks!

[Technique] Contact Paper and Ink Lifting by Channin

Watch below or on our YouTube channel.

To start I die cut several flowers and leaves from a 6” x 6” piece of contact paper with the Bouquet Builder Matching Dies. Once die cut I saved the die sheet as well as the die cut flower and leaves.

Next, I ink blended distressed oxides (1:Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean, Wilted Violet; 2: Picked Raspberry, Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade) onto 2 A2 panels of Bristol paper die cut using the largest die from the A2 Nesting Rectangles 1 Die set.

I then heat set the panels and then removed the backing on the contact paper die cuts and adhered them to the panels. I adhered the sheet to one panel and the die cuts leaves and flowers to the other.

Next, with a wrung out chamois cloth, I lifted the ink off the panels by pressing the chamois to the paper. Once I finished lifting the ink off the surface, I removed the contact paper and then stamped and white heat embossed some flowers and leaves from the Bouquet Builder Samp Set onto the panels.

Next, I created my sentiments by stamping and heat embossing sentiments from the Rainbows Stamp Set onto strips of black cardstock. To finish the cards, I adhered the panels onto A2 top-folding card bases and then adhered the sentiments with foam tape.

I hope you enjoyed today’s video and technique! Thanks so much for stopping by!

[Technique] Ink Extracting with a Chamois by Channin

Hello all! It's Channin here and I have a really fun technique that I’m super excited to share with you all today! In today’ s video I will demonstrate how to create some beautifully textured backgrounds with a very simple ink extracting technique. Best part is you most likely already have all the supplies you need to give this a try!

[Technique] Ink Extracting with a Chamois by Channin

Watch below or on our YouTube channel.

First, I die cut an A2 panel from Bristol paper using the largest die from the A2 Nesting Rectangles 1 Die Set.

I then ink blended either distress inks or oxides over the entire panel.

I then bundled up a wrung out chamois and bounced it over the surface of the blended panel.

I then stamped, copic colored, and then die cut with the matching dies several images from the Bouquet Builder Set.

Next, I stamped and white heat embossed sentiments from the Rainbows Stamp Set onto black cardstock.

Lastly, I adhered the panels onto A2 top-folding card bases with liquid adhesive and then adhered the flowers and sentiments with foam tape.

I hope you enjoyed today’s technique and will give it a try yourselves! :) Thanks for stopping by!
