Puffy Rainbow with Marvy Uchida by Channin

Hello all! Today starts our week long collaboration with Marvy Uchida! I”m so excited about this week because I have some really fun and unique cards to share with you!! Today I use Marvy Uchida’s Puffy Velvet Markers to create a fun textured card with the Little Painters Set.

Watch below or on our YouTube channel.

To start, I first stamped a paint brush from the Little Painters Stamp Set five times onto Canson Bristol paper in VersaFine Onyx Black ink. I then colored them with Marvy Uchida’s ColorIn Brush Tip Markers, using water and brush to create gradations and soften the color. I then die cut the images out with the matching dies. Next, I colored a rainbow gradation using ColorIn Markers on bristol paper and then die cut the Rainbow Word Die from it. I then trimmed the paint brushes down to create a pyramid shape and and adhered them to an A2 panel with foam tape.

Next, I colored paint streaks with 5 different colors of Marvy Uchida Puffy Velvet markers and heat set them to make them puff. I then die cut a sentiment strip using the Sentiments Die and then stamped and white heat embossed a sentiment from the Rainbows Stamp Set. Next, I took a strip of vellum and wrapped it around my panel, using a tape runner to hold it in place. I then used more tape to adhere the panel onto an A2 top-folding card base. Finished up the card by adhering my sentiment onto the vellum with liquid adhesive.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project and video! Thanks so much for stopping by! See you Wednesday for another project feature Marvy Uchida!

Simple Alcohol Ink Background by Channin

Hello Waffle Flower Friends! It’s Channin here with a new video! In today’s video I share with you how to create a simple yet colorful alcohol ink background which I pair with the fun artsy images from the Little Painters Combo set!

Simple Alcohol Ink Background by Channin

Watch below or on our Youtube channel.

VIDEO

First, I create my alcohol background on a 5x7 sheet of Yupo paper with several Ranger alcohol inks (Citrus, Stream, Wild Plum, Sailboat Blue, & Watermelon). I then set the background aside to try a start working on the images. I start by stamping several images from the Little Painters Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black onto white cardstock. I then colored them with copics (100, C-7, C-5, C-3, C-1, BG10, E00, E21, E37, E29) and then die cut them out with the matching dies. Next, I stamped and white heat embossed a sentiment from the Rainbows Stamp Set onto a black sentiment strip created using the Sentiments Die. I then die cut an A2 panel from the alcohol ink background using the A2 Nesting Rectangles 1 Die. Next, I adhered the panel onto an A2 top-folding card base and then finished up my card by adhering the images and sentiment with foam tape.

I hope you enjoyed my card and video! Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a fantastic day!

Rainbows and Deco Foil by Channin

Hello all! It's Channin here with a new project and video for our collaboration week with Thermoweb! I seriously couldn't wait to share today's project with you all! I had so much foiling rainbows left and right with the Rainbow Panel Die and the beautiful Rainbow and Iridescent Deco Foil Transfer Sheets. Yup, this is going to be good!

Rainbows and Deco Foil by Channin

Watch below or on our YouTube channel.

I started by creating my background. First, I placed the Starburst Deco Foil Stencil over an A2 panel of white cardstock. I then spread Deco Foil Transfer Gel over the stencil, removed the stencil, and let the panel dry for an hour. While the panel was drying I die cut a rainbow, clouds, and "rainbows" sentiment using the Rainbow Panel Die, Partly Cloudy Die, and Rainbow Word Die from a Deco Foil Toner Sheet. Next, I foiled the rainbow stripes and "rainbows" sentiment die cuts with a Rainbow Deco Foil Transfer Sheet. I then foiled the clouds with an Iridescent Deco Foil Transfer Sheet. Next, I die cut the all the images again (rainbow, clouds, & "rainbows" sentiment) from craft foam. I then adhered the foiled die cuts to their craft foam counterparts.

Next, I die cut a sentiment strip using the Sentiments Die set from black cardstock and then stamped and white heat embossed the rest of my sentiment using the Rainbows Stamp Set. I then foiled my stenciled background panel with more iridescent foil. I then put together my card by adhering the stenciled panel onto an A2 top-folding card base, then adhering the rainbow and clouds to the card front. Lastly, I adhered the sentiment strip and then the "rainbows" die cut over the largest cloud.

I hope you enjoyed today's project and video! And don't forget about the giveaway for a $25 Thermoweb gift certificate and a $25 Waffle Flower Crafts gift certificate. To enter please leave a comment below by Monday, June 4th!

[Technique] Ink Smooshing with Embossed Resist by Channin

Hello all! It’s Channin here and in today’s technique video I’m combining 2 techniques to create 2 colorful cards! In the video, I will combine ink smooshing and embossed resist to create these leafy backgrounds with Distress Oxides. Please check out the video below to get all the details.

[Technique] Ink Smooshing with Embossed Resist by Channin

Watch below or our YouTube channel.

First, I ink smooshed Distress Oxides Twisted Citron and Cracked Pistachio onto two A2 panels (4.25” x 5.5”) of watercolor paper. I then completely dried the panels with a heat gun. Next, I die cut several leaves from craft foam using the Greenery Dies and then mounted them onto an acrylic block with tape adhesive to turn them into stamps.

Next, I covered the panels with anti-static powder and then repeatedly stamped the leaves in VersaMark to cover the panels and then heat embossed them with clear embossing powder. Next, did some more ink smooshing over the panels; one with Peacock Feathers & Lucky Clover and the other with Picked Raspberry & Spiced Marmalade.

I then stamped and heat embossed a sentiment from the Drink to That Stamp Set onto a sentiment strips cut using the Sentiments Die. Lastly, I adhered the panels onto A2 top-folding card bases (4.25” x 11”, scored & folded at 5.5”) and then added the sentiment strips with foam tape.

I hope you enjoyed today’s cards and techniques. Thanks so much for stopping by!

[Interactive]-Across The Miles Pull Tab Slider Card by Katie

Hello Waffle Flower friends, Katie Gehring here with a video to share with you today on how I created a Pull Tab Slider Card featuring the Across the Miles stamp set and matching die illustrated by Big Bear and Bird.

Things are looking up for Big Bear as he ascends the evening sky on a hot air balloon ride. The track for the slider element was a snap to make with the Holiday Words Dies. The Year Round Words die and the Sentiments die will also work for this technique. The rectangles are the perfect width to create the slider element and you can use whichever word that will give you the best length for your track. Using Fun Foam to form the track for the slider tab is an economical alternative to double sided foam tape.

I have loads more tips and ideas to share with you. I hope you’ll take a peek at my video to see how it all came together.

DesignTeamHeadshots-KatieGehringHello Waffle Flower Friends, Katie here. On today’s Throwback Thursday, I am going to show you how I transformed a pile of card stock scraps into a Christmas card with a little help from the Waffle Flower Holiday Words Die and Sentiments Die. I have a feeling that I’ll be making more of these in the coming weeks, and in the video I share an idea for applying this concept to other occasions as well. Scrap piles, get ready, I'm coming for you!
