[Video]#TBT - Flora Cat Spinner Card by Katie Gehring

Hello Waffle Flower friends!
Katie here today sharing a fun spinner card that I made using the new Flora Cat Play stamp set illustrated by Flora Waycott.  I was inspired by the sentiment “This is how we Roll” to try to make a card where the kitty would actually roll or spin around.
To make the spinner element, I stamped the same kitty and butterfly image on two 3” circles die cut from white card stock.  Those circles were sandwiched together with some silver thread in the center and positioned in a window opening created with a 3.5 inch circle die.
I have a video to share with you today which walks you through how to create a spinner card.  It really adds a fun interactive element to your greeting that your recipient will be sure to love!

Hello Waffle Flower friends, On today’s #TBT, I am combining the new Greenery Die with a throwback stamp set featuring some seriously stylish sentiments using brush lettering- the Balloon Messages stamp set. This card was so much fun to pull together and gave me a chance to play with my Distress inks in lots of different ways. I have a video to share with you today showing how all this came together to create a Tropical Birthday card. I hope you’ll take a peek!

Watch below or on our YouTube channel.   I love the way that the watercolored card stock looks cut into leaves and fronds using the Greenery die. I created the background of the card by blending some yellow shades of Distress Ink. No matter how many times I mist Distress Ink with water, I am still amazed at the dreamy bokeh effect it creates.   Thanks for stopping by! Hello Waffle Flower friends, Katie Gehring here. On today’s #TBT, I am sharing a couple of cards I made by pairing the throwback Pattern Play stamp set with the new stamps and dies designed by Helen Dardik. A complete list of my Waffle Flower supplies is below.

[Video]#TBT - Magical Rainbow Stripes with Katie Gehring

Watch below or on our YouTube channel. To create the rainbow stripe background, I stamped a few of the images from the Pattern Play stamp set using Waffle Flower inks. I overlapped the stripes as I worked my way down the card following a loose, rainbow (ROYGBIV) color order. With such a colorful background, I decided to keep the rest of the card pretty simple by die cutting the Magical Butterfly die and Magical Flower Border die from white card stock. I layered it with a bit of gold card stock for a little extra glitz. The sentiment is from the Enveloper Choice stamp set. My next card was one that was almost destined for the trash bin. I was nearly finished with the card and I managed to mess up stamping the sentiment. Never fear, social media to the rescue! I stepped away and got some great suggestions from my friends and fellow card makers. Together we came up with a solution to hide my stamping boo-boo. This sentiment is from the Enveloper Hello stamp set. I hope you’ll take a peek at my video below to see how the cards came together and how the drama unfolded including lessons learned and a new to me product that made adhering these detailed die cuts a cinch.

Hello Waffle Flower friends! Katie here. On today’s #TBT, I am using some Mixed Media techniques using Waffle Flower’s Tribal Pattern Die as a stencil.

#TBT - Mixing it up with Mixed Media Techniques by Katie Gehring

Watch below or on our YouTube channel. Embossing paste adds to much wonderful texture and dimension to paper crafted projects, and it can be tinted using Waffle Flower Dye Ink! It’s really quite easy too! If you have ever spackled a nail hole in a wall or frosted a cookie or cake, you can totally do this technique! I combined this technique with another throwback stamp set aptly called DT Mix. To further “mix it up” I layered the stamped sentiment with thread, vellum and a few sequins for good measure. I have a video to share with you today which shows how I used these mixed media techniques to create a very romantic card. I hope you’ll take a peek to see how it all came together. If there is an older Waffle Flower stamp set or die, that you would like to see featured in an upcoming #TBT video, leave me a comment and let me know. Until next time, thanks for stopping by! Hello Waffle Flower friends, Katie here with another #TBT. With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, I wanted to share an idea with you for a cheeky sort of love card that’s perfect for any loved ones who are really into their social media. ;) To make this card, I pulled out the Sketchy Alpha stamp set and the Social Icons stamp set and created a custom sentiment to go with all the Social Media icons. [Video] #TBT- Love You More Than Card Watch it below or on our Youtube Channel. I colored in the letters with Copic Markers and drew a sketchy border around the Social Media icon images with a black pen. This sentiment will be perfect for a tween-ager who live-streamed a review of her Christmas Gifts and creates an Instagram Story when there’s a snow day. I have a video to share today of how I created this card. I hope you’ll take a peek to see how it all came together! Thanks for stopping by! Hello Waffle Flower friends,
Katie here with another #TBT.  This week, I am combining the NEW Lacy Squares dies and the NEW Mini Strawberry die with some older favorites to create a sweet card for your Berry Best friend.
In my video, I share how I added color to plain white die cuts using distress inks.  I’ll also demonstrate how to use your dies to make shaped note cards.  I hope you’ll take a peek and see how it all came together!

#TBT - No Place Like Home Card by Katie Gehring

Hello everyone, Katie here with another #TBT Video to share with you. This week’s #TBT is super sized and over the rainbow because some ideas are just too big and too sparkly to fit onto an A2 note card.

[Video] No Place Like Home Card

Watch it below or on our Youtube Channel! Ever since Waffle Flower Crafts introduced the First Step stamp set last fall, I have been wanting to transform those shoes into Ruby Slippers. I love old movie musicals and The Wizard of Oz is one of my all time favorites. I have a bit of a personal connection too as yours truly played “Oz Lady” in her high school production of The Wizard of Oz. It was pretty epic. Of course, I needed a fitting sentiment to go with the Ruby Slippers, so I immediately thought of using the Cutaway Alpha stamp set to create a custom sentiment. Something like “There’s No Place Like Home” or “We’re not in Kansas anymore." It’s an idea that’s been rolling around in my brain for months now. The problem, however, was one of real estate. I just couldn’t get it to fit on the typical A2 note card. Enter the NEW Lacy Layer 5x7 dies and there’s a whole new world of possibilities available. I was finally able to make the card that I couldn’t quite get out of my head, and I figured out a way to transform some simple shoes into Ruby Red Slippers. I hope you’ll take a peek at my video to see how it all came together. Thanks for stopping by! Katie Supplies: Lacy Layers 5x7 die First Step Stamp Set First Step Die Cutaway Alpha Stamp Set

Hello Waffle Flower friends, Katie here with another #TBT card to share. I love modern design. There’s something so refreshing about pairing unexpected textures, angles, patterns and a touch of shine together against a backdrop of bright white. On today’s #TBT, I combined the new Layering Marble stamp set with some of the elements and sentiment from the Doily Square stamp set to create a modern and eclectic card. In my video, I’ll demonstrate how I used the Layering Marble stamp set along with Waffle Flower Inks and a bit of embossing powder to create a dreamy pink marble background. It’s much easier than it looks and results can be super impressive. I hope you’ll take a peek at my video to see how is all came together!

Hello Waffle Flower friends, Katie Gehring here. On today’s Throwback Thursday, we’re celebrating Waffle Flower’s new release!!! Hooray!! To get this party started I’m pairing the new Hey Girl stamp set with the Sketchy Numbers stamp set. First, I used Sketchy Numbers along with Waffle Flower Crafts dye ink to create a stamped background that looks just like patterned paper.   The adorable birthday cake sloth from the Hey Girl stamp set is the subject of a Insta Love photo frame. I am just crazy about this stamp set and these adorable sloths. I colored the sloth with Copic markers before adhering the stamped and colored image and the frame to the card with foam tape. The Copic markers used to color in the image along with links to all the Waffle Flower products used on my card are listed below. I hope you’ll take a peek at my video and see how it all came together!

Hello Waffle Flower friends, Katie here with another #TBT. A couple weeks ago, I received a special request to create a throwback card using the A Bunch stamp set. The A Bunch stamp set was originally released in Spring of 2015, and if it’s in your collection or on your wish list, it is definitely worth a second look. A Bunch features some really fun and playful daisy-type flowers and includes both outline flowers as well as coordinating solid stamps for some quick and easy two-step stamping. Today I’m using the A Bunch stamp set along with the Celebrate word die and Waffle Flower inks to create a “no line” watercolor card. This technique is much easier than it looks and the results can be really impressive. Using Waffle Flower dye inks as a watercolor medium is a great way to get more milage out of existing supplies. I hope you’ll take a peek at my video to see how it all came together. If there is an older Waffle Flower stamp set that you’d like to see featured on an upcoming #TBT, just leave me a comment below.
