Gym Rats and Marvy Uchida Watercolor Pencils by Channin

Hello all! It’s Channin here and today is our final day of our collaboration with Marvy Uchida! In today’s video I demonstrate a simple coloring technique on these cute Hamsters from the Gym Rat Combo set using Marvy Uchida Watercolor Pencils and their Le Plume II Blender. I had a lot of fun with this card and even made the center hamster resemble a certain celebrity, any guesses? Watch the video to find out!

Gym Rats and Marvy Uchida Watercolor Pencils by Channin

Watch below or on our Youtube channel.

First, I stamped several hamsters from Gym Rat Stamp Set the onto 110lb white cardstock in Versafine Onyx Black Ink. I then colored them in with a 24 set of Marvy Uchida watercolor pencils and then blended with the Marvy’s Le Plume II Blender. Once all my images were colored I die cut them out with the matching dies. Next, I stamped a wood floor with the Layering Woodgrain Stamp Set in Coffee Loves Milk onto light brown cardstock. I then trimmed the stamped cardstock to 2.125” x 5.5”. Next I stamped, a rainbow burst onto an A2 panel of white yardstick using the Rain Check Stamp Set an array of Waffle Flower Inks (My Pleasure, Oh Happy Day, You Said What, Chirp Chirp, Happy Go Lucky, and Daydreaming).

I then adhered the woodgrain paper onto the A2 panel and then ran the two together through my die cutting machine with the largest die from the A2 Nesting Rectangles 1 Die to add a stitched border. Next, I adhered all the images to the panel and then adhered the panel to an A2 card base. Lastly, I stamped a sentiment from the Gym Rat Stamp Set onto the card front in Versafine Onyx Black.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card and video! Thank you so much for joining us during or week long collaboration with Marvy Uchida! And don’t forget to check out their Instagram feed next week when they share their projects their team created with Waffle Flower products! Have a wonderful day!

Striped Moon & Stars Shaker Card by Channin

Hello everyone! It’s Channin here with a new video! Today I share how to create this colorful striped shaker card with the Moon & Stars Combo set. I just love the versatility of this set! Today I make a welcome baby themed card but you could easily use a different sentiment and palette and create a graduation card, an encouragement card, or even a simple I love you card.

Striped Moon & Stars Shaker Card by Channin

Watch below or on our Youtube channel.

First, I stamped the striped background using the Plaid Play Stamp Set and a variety of Waffle Flower dye inks (Happy Go Lucky, Safe Choice, Oh Happy Day, You Said What, Chirp Chirp, New Fish In Pond, & Daydreaming) on an A2 panel of white cardstock. Next, I die cut the Moon & Stars Panel die from white cardstock, making sure to die cut the strips of stars twice. I then silver heat embossed a sentiment from the Moon & Stars Stamp Set onto the panel and silver heat embossed the large die cut moon as well. Next I die cut two frames out of craft foam using the Rainbow Panel Die and adhered them together.

I then adhered the die cut strips of stars to the Moon & Stars panel and then adhered a panel of acetate to the back. Next, I adhered the foam frame to the striped panel and then filled the panel with my shaker components (Little Things by Lucy’s Cards: Sprinkles - Star Bright, Little Things by Lucy’s Cards: Diamonds - Dewdrop, & silver sequins). I then finished the card by adhering the front panel over the striped panel, then adhered the embossed moon too the acetate, and finally adhered the shaker panel to an A2 top-folding card base.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card and video! Thanks for stopping by!

Sweet Ice Cream Shop by Channin

Hello everyone! It’s Channin here with a new video demonstrating how to create this sweet ice cream shop scene using the new Sweet Ice Cream Set and the Apartment Builder Die.

Sweet Ice Cream Shop by Channin

Watch below or on our YouTube channel.

First, I die cut a panel using the A2 Grid Panel Die out of turquoise paper. I then die cut windows, balcony, curtains, and awning from white, pink, and peach cardstock with the Apartment Builder Die. Next, I stamped a sentiment from the Sweet Ice Cream Stamp Set onto pink cardstock and then die cut the awning from the stamped cardstock. I then stamped and copic colored some of the mice and an ice cream cone from the Sweet Ice Cream Stamp Set. Once I had finished coloring the images I die cut them out with the matching dies.

Next, I ink blended some You Said What Dye Ink onto an A2 top-folding card base and then assembled the shop onto the grid panel using liquid adhesive to hold all the pieces in place. Next I added foam tape to the back side of the grid panel and then adhered the panel to the card base. Lastly, I adhered the panel to the card base and then added the mice and ice cream. And for the final touch I added some wink of stella to the the ice cream cones.

I hope you enjoyed! Thanks so much for stopping by!!

[Interactive] Therefore I Am Pull Tab Card by Channin

Hello all! It’s Channin here with a fun interactive card to share! In today’s video I demonstrate how to create a pull tab card using the new Therefore I Am Set by Big Bear and Bird. This card also has a really fun reveal of bear’s buddy, bird, hiding under bear’s chef’s hat!

[Interactive] Therefore I Am Pull Tab Card by Channin

Watch below or on our YouTube channel.

First, I die cut a notch for the pull tab using the Pull Tabs Die set from two A2 panels (4.25” x 5.5”), one made from white 110lb cardstock and the other from light blue cardstock. I then die cut the light blue panel with the largest dies from the A2 Nesting Rectangles 1 Die set and the Nesting Circles 2 Die set.

Next, I ink blended a little You Said What Dye Ink onto the lower portion of the white panel with a mini ink blending tool. I then stamped, copic colored, and then die cut with the matching dies images from the Therefore I Am Stamp Set and the Bird & Bird Stamp Set. Next, fussy cut the spoon away from the bird die cut and touched with white gel pen any remaining ink from the spoon.

I then die cut the pull tab track into the white panel and then die cut the remaining pull tab mechanisms from white and blue cardstock with the Pull Tabs Die set. I then assembled my pull tab and then adhered the blue front panel and bear with foam tape. I then adhered the bird to the pull tab and adhered the remaining die cuts with Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue. Lastly, I added Wink of Stella to the flowers and berries to add a little sparkle.

I hope you enjoyed today’s video and card! Thanks so much for stopping by!

[Technique] Faux Bejeweling with Cross Stitch Stamps by Channin

Hello all! It’s Channin here with a new technique video to share. This week I have a new spin on Waffle Flower’s cross stitch stamp sets. In today’s video I combine Nuvo Jewel Drops with several WF cross stitch stamp sets (Stitched Cacti, Stitched Cup for Tea, Stitched Peonies) to create a fun bejeweled look.

[Technique] Faux Bejeweling with Cross Stitch Stamps by Channin

Watch below or on our YouTube channel.

First, I stamped a cactus from the Stitched Cacti Stamp Set in distress oxides (cracked pistachio, twisted citron, abandoned coral, wild honey). Then with Nuvo Jewel Drops, I made small drops on each one of the x’s in the image with the corresponding jewel drop color (Key Lime, Strawberry Coulis, Limoncello).

Once the drops were dry I added Black Tie Enamel Accents to the eyes. When the entire image was dry, I fussy cut the cactus out. I then stamped a sentiment from the Hello Stamp Set in VersaFine Onyx Black onto a yellow A2 top-folding card base (4.25” x 11”, scored and folded at 5.5”). Lastly, I added the cactus with foam tape.

For these two cards, I used all the same distress oxide inks as before except I didn’t use Wild Honey and stamped the pots in WF’s Daydreaming Dye Ink instead. I used all the same Nuvo Jewel Drops as previously with the addition of Sea Breeze for the pots. I also used a sentiment from the Hoppy Stamp Set.

For this card I used the Stitched Cup of Tea Stamp Set and WF inks Tickled Pink, My Pleasure, You Said What, and Oh Happy Day for the images.

I used Strawberry Coulis, Limoncello and Rosewater Nuvo drops and the sentiment is from the Books & Coffee Stamp Set.

For this last card, I used the Stitched Peonies Stamp Set with WF inks Tickled Pink, My Pleasure, and Oh Happy Day and Distress Oxide Cracked Pistachio for the leaves and stems. This stamp set has a matching die so I used the die instead of fussy cutting these flowers.

I also used Strawberry Coulis, Limoncello, Rosewater, and Key Lime Nuvo drops and the Embroidered Greeting for the sentiment.

I hope you enjoyed! Thanks for stopping by!

[WIW] Wild Birthday Card by Channin

Hello! It’s Channin here for Waffle Flower’s Watch It Wednesday! In today’s video I create this fun and playful birthday card. I used the new Jungle Birthday and Limo Ride Stamps and Dies with the Apartment Builder Die and 9 Grids Die to create a wild party scene!

[WIW] Wild Birthday Card by Channin

Watch below or on our YouTube channel.

First, I die cut a grid panel using the 9 Grids Die, a roof with the Apartment Builder Die Set and a scalloped border with the Scenery Die Set from 110lb white cardstock. I then trimmed a square panel to fit behind the 9 grid panel and then cut and folded an A2 top-folding card base (4.25” x 11”, scored and folded at 5.5”) also from 110lb white cardstock. Next, I made a mask with the scalloped die from the Scenery Die Set and contact paper. I then ink blended Distress Oxide over the grid panel and Waffle Flower’s Like a Pro over the roof. Next I ink blended Waffle Flower’s You Said What over the square panel using the straight side of the mask to blend in rows to add warmth to the windows. I then blended a cloudy sky at the top half of the card base using the scalloped side of the mask and Memento Bahama Blue. I then finished up my blending by blending Distress Oxide Twisted Citron and Waffle Flower’s Chirp Chirp to the lower portion of my card base and the scalloped border. Next, I die cut the 9 Grids Die and the roof from the Apartment Builder Die out of craft foam and set all the die cut pieces aside.

I then stamped, copic colored, and die cut with the matching dies several images from the Jungle Birthday and Limo Ride sets. I then adhered the cardstock grid to the craft foam grid and then the pair to the square panel. Next, I adhered the cardstock roof and craft foam roof together and then set the gird and roof aside. I then added foam tape to the backside of all the images except the balloons and banner and then adhered them to the 9 grid. I then adhered the balloons and banner to the grid and then adhered the grid to the card base. Lastly, I adhered the roof and scallop border to the card front. I

hope you enjoyed today’s video and card! Thank you so much for stopping in!

[Technique] DIY Border Stamp with Ombre Inking by Channin

Hello Waffle Flower Friends! It’s Channin here with a new technique video! This week I’m creating my own border stamp with several images from the super sweet Wish Stamp Set. I then combined my DIY border stamp with rock-n-roll inking to create an ombre background. For all the details please check out the video below.

[Technique] DIY Border Stamp with Ombre Inking by Channin

Watch below or on our YouTube channel.

First, I created a border stamp by arranging several small images from the Wish Stamp Set in a 1” strip on my craft mat and then picked up the images with my acrylic block. Next, I inked up my DIY border stamp in Happy Go Lucky Dye Ink and then partially inked up the top portion in Daydreaming using the rock-n-roll technique and then stamped it onto an A2 panel (4.25” x 5.5”) of 110lb white cardstock. I then repeated this process with several other Waffle Flower Inks (Safe Choice, My Pleasure, Oh Happy Day, & You Said What), always using just two shades of ink at a time but inking the stamps up with the lighter shade first then rock-n-rolling half of the stamp in the darker shade. I also flipped the stamp each time as well to vary the pattern a bit.

After I had stamped the whole background I then stamped, copic colored (colors listed in video) and then die cut with the matching dies the girl and dandelion from the Wish Set. I also stamped some dandelion seeds in You Said What and die cut those out as well. Next, I die cut a circle frame out of the stamped panel with the 2 larger dies from the Nesting Circles 2 Die set. I then taped the frame to the rest of frame and then mounted it and the remaining small circle of the stamped panel into my MISTI and then stamped a sentiment in VersaFine Onyx Black. Next, I adhered the panel with the taped frame onto an A2 top-folding card base with foam tape. I then adhered the circle with the sentiment into the opening with liquid glue and then adhered the girl with foam tape and the dandelion and dandelion seeds with liquid glue.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card and video! Thanks for stopping by!

[Technique] Silhouetted Scene with Rainbow Background by Channin

Hello all! It’s Channin here with a new technique video! Today I have a fun idea for your stamps that are more solid or less linear. With the current coloring trend in full force these types of stamps often get forgotten, which is a shame because there are so many fun techniques and creative designs you can only do/create with these more solid stamps sets. In today’s video I demonstrate how to create a simple scene in silhouette that just pops with a bright rainbow stamped background.

[Technique] Silhouetted Scene with Rainbow Background by Channin

Watch below or on our YouTube channel.

First, I created a rainbow background by repeatedly stamping a stripe stamp from the Plaid Play Stamp Set with my MISTI on an A2 white card base in a rainbow of Waffle Flower Inks (You Said What, Chirp Chirp, Daydreaming, New Fish in Pond, Happy Go Lucky, Oh Happy Day, My Pleasure, & Safe Choice).

Next, I stamped several images from the Morning Stamp Set in VersaFine Onyx Black onto the card front. Once, all the images were stamped, I stamped a sentiment from the Flower Circles Stamp Set. Lastly, I added a few accents and a shadow to the sentiment with a white gel pen.

And that's it! I hope you all enjoyed! Thanks so much for stopping by!

[Technique] Ombre Backgrounds with Border Dies by Channin

Hello everyone! It’s Channin here with a new technique video! Today I’m sharing a simple and fun way to create backgrounds that are prefect for framing your stamped images or even large sentiments.

[Technique] Ombre Backgrounds with Border Dies by Channin

Watch below or on our YouTube channel.

Card 1

First I die cut a mask using the scalloped die from the Scenery Die set from some contact paper. I then removed the backing and placed the mask at the upper third of an A2 white card base. I then ink blended a very light layer of WF’s You Said What Dye Ink over the upper portion of the card with a mini ink blending tool. I then removed the mask, re-aligned it and then moved it upward 1/4” and then blended more You Said What to make a slightly darker shade of yellow.

Next, I repeated the process one more time to create a darker third layer. I then flipped my mask around and repeated the whole process again on the lower third of the card. With my back ground complete, I stamped and copic colored images from the Rock On Stamp Set and then die cut them out with the matching dies. Lastly, I adhered the images onto the card front with foam tape.

Card 2

I followed the same process for this second card as I did the first, just using different products. I also cut a mask from contact paper but this time I used the Chunky Chevron Die. I then placed the mask on an A2 card base made from white cardstock and then blended with WF’s New Fish in Pond Dye Ink. I made the 3 layers at the top and bottom portions of my card by sliding the mask up and blending just as I did with the first card.

I then stamped and copic colored an image from the Rock On Stamp Set. I also stamped a sentiment and some music notes from this set on the front of my card with Memento Tuxedo Black. Lastly, I adhered my colored image with foam tape to the front.

I hope you enjoyed! Thanks so much for stopping by!
