[Technique] Adding Depth to Alphabet Dies by Channin

Hello all! It’s Channin here with a fun Halloween card. I can’t believe it’s mid October and I haven’t made a Halloween card yet! It's time to rectify that I think! In this week’s video I demonstrate a simple way to added depth to your die cut sentiments to help them pop or stand out from busy backgrounds.

First, I created two masks with the pumpkins from the Trick or Treat Stamp Set out of copy paper and then two ghost masks from a full-adhesive post-it note. I then stamped a layered pumpkin background with a couple ghosts using the masks I created in Fired Brick Distress Oxide and Versafine Onyx Black on a panel cut with the Stitched Layers Die. I then watercolored the pumpkins with Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink, WF Oh Happy Day Dye Ink, and a little Fired Brick Distress Oxide for the stems.

Next, I cut “Boo to you” from black and white cardstock with the Papercut Alpha Die set and then layered the black letters over the white but slightly off-set to create a shadowed look. I then adhered a panel of craft foam behind the watercolored panel and then adhered the panel onto an A2 top-folding black card base. And lastly, I adhered the letters onto the card front.

I hope you enjoyed! Thanks so much for stopping by!
