[Technique] Stamping Chevrons by Channin

Hello everyone, it’s Channin here with a new technique video! This week I’m making chevrons with the new Plaid Play Stamp Set. In the video I demonstrate my method for stamping chevrons and I also show you how to create 3 different chevron designs with simple modifications to the same technique!

Watch below or on our YouTube channel.

First I cut an A2 panel in half vertically to create (2) 5.5” by 2.125” panels. I then positioned the largest solid stripe stamp from the Plaid Play Stamp Set in my MISTI at an angle with the help of the smaller triangle from the Creative Corners set. I then stamped a series of stripes in My Pleasure, Happy Go Lucky, Oh Happy Day, New Fish in Pond, and Peace of Mind till the half was completely covered. I then stamped the other half of the panel in the same process except with the strip flipped.

I then glued the halves onto an A2 panel, trimmed it down and adhered it to an A2 top-folding card base. Next, I diecut a circle out of vellum using the Flower Circles Die set. I then stamped and white heat embossed a sentiment and hearts from the Big Day Stamp Set. Lastly I added small strips of foam tape to the backside of the vellum, behind the sentiment and hearts and then adhered it to the center of the card.

For this card I followed the same steps as before to create the chevron stripes except this time I used a smaller solid stripe stamp from the Plaid Play Stamp Set and I some used different Waffle Flower Inks (Daydreaming, New Fish in Pond, Chirp Chirp, You Said What, Oh Happy Day, My Pleasure, Safe Choice, & Happy Go Lucky). I then cut the halves in half again vertically and then adhered them to an A2 panel.

I then trimmed the panel and adhered it to an A2 top-folding card base. I then diecut “good luck” out of white cardstock and craft foam using the Good Luck Word Die. I then trimmed off the luck portion with scissors and adhered the cardstock “good” and the craft foam “good” together. Next, I stamped and white heat embossed the rest of the sentiment using the Happy Day Stamp Set onto a strip of black cardstock. Lastly, I adhered all the portions of the sentiment onto the card front.

I also followed the same steps as before to create the chevron stripes as in card 1 except this time I didn’t cover the entire half. I also used a smaller stripe stamp and Peace of Mind, New Fish in Pond, You Said What, and Oh Happy Day inks.

I then adhered the halves to an A2 panel, trimmed the panel, and then adhered the panel onto an A2 top-fold card base. Lastly I created a sentiment in the same manner as I did for card 2 and I adhered it to the card front.

I hope you enjoyed. Thanks so much for stopping by!
