designteamheadshots_channin Hello everyone! It’s Channin here! I love playing with my stamps, especially simple shapes, and coming up with new ways to use them. This week I took a simple ray/elongated triangle from the awesome Rain Check Stamp Set and created 3 different Christmas tree designs! Watch the video below to get all the details!

[TT Video] 3 Trees, One Stamp with Channin

Watch below or on our YouTube channel. img_2702 photo-dec-11-9-33-38-pm Card 1: For my first card I cut a 4.75” x 6.75” rectangle out of white cardstock and then I die cut the largest dotted rectangle from the Pinking Layers Die set. Next, I used a ruler to make a vertical line down the center and then I stamped 6 triangles using the ray from the Rain Check Stamp Set in Chirp Chirp Dye Ink, New Fish in Pond Dye Ink, and Peace of Mind Dye Ink on either side of the vertical line (3 on each side). photo-dec-11-9-36-13-pm Next, I masked off the bottom of my tree with a post-it-note and then stamped the wider portion of the ray in Coffee Loves Milk Dye Ink to create a trunk. I then thoroughly dried my panel with my heat gun and then stamped and gold embossed a sentiment from the Peace on Earth Stamp Set. Lastly, I punched a star out of glittery gold paper using and adhered it to the top of my tree and then adhered the panel onto my 5” by 7” card base. photo-dec-11-9-34-49-pm Card 2: For my second card I first cut a 4.25” by 5.5” rectangle out of white cardstock and then I die cut the largest dotted rectangle from the Pinking Layers Die set. Next, I used a ruler to mark a vertical line down the center and then I stamped the ray stamp twice (once in Chirp Chirp and then in New Fish in Pond) on either side of the centerline to create a tree. I then created two more trees to the left and the right of my first tree in Chirp Chirp, New Fish in Pond, and Peace of Mind. photo-dec-11-9-34-12-pm Next, using a ruler and a permanent marker I drew a centerline down the middle of the right and left tree and then I drew branches coming out of the centerline on both trees. I then stamped a sentiment from the Peace on Earth Stamp Set in the center of the middle tree with Versafine Onyx Black pigment ink. Lastly, I cut a piece of craft foam to fit my panel, then adhered them together and then onto my 5” by 7” card base. photo-dec-11-9-34-38-pm Card 3: For my final card I started with my 5” by 7” card base. With my card turned horizontally, I repeatedly stamped the ray in Chirp Chirp, New Fish in Pond, and Peace of Mind to create a forest scene. Next, using a ruler and a fine permanent marker I made a vertical centerline in some of the trees and then added branches. photo-dec-11-9-34-20-pm I then stamped a sentiment which I trimmed (I removed the bird and flourishes) from Peace on Earth Stamp Set in Like a Pro Dye Ink. Lastly, I stamped the sentiment again but this time in Versafine Onyx Black pigment ink over my gray sentiment but slightly off-set to create a shadow. Thanks for stopping I hoped you enjoyed and inspired you to experiment with some of your shape stamps!
