[TT Video] 4th of July Chalkboard Art Card by Channin

Hello everyone and happy 4th of July! It’s Channin her with a new technique video to share! This week I’m playing with the wonderful BBQ Sayings and Meat Up Stamp Sets to create a chalkboard art inspired card. I combined heat embossing, colored pencils, and even a white gel pen to get a realistic chalkboard look. Check the video to see how it all comes together!

First, I stamped a sentiment from the BBQ Sayings Stamp Set in embossing ink in the center of a black 4.25x5.5 cardstock panel then heat embossed it in white. Next, I stamped and heat embossed in red 3 flags around the sentiment. I then I stamped and white embossed several images from the Meat Up Stamp Set, BBQ Sayings Stamp Set, and the Big Day Stamp Set around the sentiment to complete the ring/wreath. Next I colored in the blue portions of the American flag with a blue (PC903) prismacolor colored pencil. I then colored all the white images with a white prismacolor colored pencil.

Next, I colored in the stripes of the flags with a white gel pen. I then created fireworks with the white colored pencil and the gel pen. Next, I diecut “happy” and “fourth of july” out of blue cardstock using the Holiday Words Die. I also cut strips of red paper that I glued the behind the sentiment strips with liquid adhesive. I then trimmed my panel to 4.125 x 5.25 and then adhered it an A2 top folding black card base. Lastly, I adhered the diecut sentiments onto the card front.

I hope you enjoyed! Thanks for stopping by!
