Hello everyone!! It’s Channin here! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and have a lot of new crafty goodies to play with!! Today I’m sharing a video demonstrating ink smooshing with an acrylic block. I love how this technique keeps the ink contained yet you still get a lot of play between the colors! I hope you check it out below!

[TT Video] Ink Smooshing with an Acyrlic Block by Channin

Watch below or on our YouTube channel. Card 1: First, I inked up an acrylic block with a rainbow of Waffle Flower inks (You Said What, Oh Happy Day, My Pleasure, Happy Go Lucky, Daydreaming, and Chirp Chirp). I then misted the block with water and then pressed the block onto a panel of water color paper and left it to dry. Once dry I repeated the process and ink smooshed again directly on top of the section I did earlier. I did this so I had fewer white areas. Once the second layer was dry I stamped the balloon strings, balloons, and a sentiment from the Balloon Messages Stamp Set in Versafine Onyx Black ink. I then smooshed Peace of Mind Dye Ink on my acrylic block and misted it with water and then used the watered down ink to paint a shadow around the balloons. Lastly, I took a white gel pen to outline the sentiment and add glares to the balloons. Card 2: I followed a very similar process for this card. I just positioned the stamps differently, used the solid balloon, and didn’t outline the sentiment. I hope you enjoyed!
