[TT Video] Pom-Pom Accents by Channin

Hello everyone! It’s Channin here and I’m so excited to be with you all for another Technique Tuesday! This week I’m focusing on CAS cards with 3-D accents, pom-poms accents to be precise. Pom-poms are a very popular trend in clothing right now and it seems I can’t get enough because I couldn’t resist putting some on my cards! Today I’m making 4 different cards showing just a few ideas for incorporating pom-poms into your cards.

Card 1

For my first card I stamped 3 different dogs and 3 party hats from the Pawsome Stamp Set on 110lb white cardstock in Memento Tuxedo Black, an alcohol marker friendly ink. I then colored all the images in with my alcohol markers and then diecut them with the Pawsome Matching Dies. Next, I adhered the party hats onto the dogs with liquid adhesive. I then strung some 10mm pom-poms on some black and white twine using a needle to create a garland. Next, using an x-acto knife I cut small slits in the mouths of each one of the dogs and then fed some of the garland in. Then I stamped my sentiment onto my A2 white, top-folding card base and then adhered the dogs, holding the garland, down with foam tape. Lastly, I glued some 5mm pom-poms onto the tops of all the party hats.

Card 2

This second card is a bit simpler. First, I stamped 3 corgis from the Pawsome Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black on white 110lb cardstock. I then colored all the images in with my alcohol markers and then diecut them out with the matching dies. Next, I stamped a sentiment from Happy Day Stamp Set on an A2 white, top-folding card base. I then adhered the corgis down with foam tape and then drew curved dotted lines behind and in front of each corgi with a pencil and then a permanent marker. Lastly, I erased my pencil marks and then adhered 3 green 5mm pom-poms in front of each corgi.

Card 3

For card three I stamped the Shiba Inu dog from the Pawsome Stamp Set and a party hat on 110lb white cardstock. I then colored the images in with my alcohol markers and then diecut them with the matching dies. Next, I adhered the party had onto the Shiba Inu’s and then set it aside to dry. I then diecut 5 photo frames out of 110lb white cardstock using the medium frame from the InstaLove Die set. I then adhered all the frames together using liquid adhesive so that the frame was very thick. Next, on one of the left over inserts from the Instalove frames, I colored a rainbow background of circles to resemble the 5mm pom-poms. I then trimmed the dog down to fit into the frame and adhered her with some doubled up foam tape and some glossy accents. I then adhered 5mm pom-poms behind and in front the Shiba Inu to make it appear as though she is partially buried in a ball pit. I then set the frame insert aside to dry and then stamped my sentiment at the bottom of an A2 top-folding white card base. Once the insert was dry I popped it into the photo frame and adhered both onto my card front.

Card 4

This last card is the simplest. First, I stamped a cat from the Hello Stampurr Stamp Set on 110lb white cardstock in Memento Tuxedo Black. I then colored the image in with alcohol markers and diecut it out with the Hello Stampurr Matching Dies. I then stamped a sentiment from the Flora Cat Meow Stamp Set on an A2 top-folding white card base. Lastly, I adhered the cat down with foam tape and then added a glitter 10mm pom-pom in its paws with glossy accents.

I hope you enjoyed and I’ll see you next Tuesday with a new technique!
