Happy Monday, everyone! Time for some inspiration from the Challenge Team! Isha, York Tee and Tessa are here to share their takes on the December Waffle Flower Challenge! Join the fun by linking your projects to our challenge too! wfc201512 Isha Gupta Products: In Every Way Stamp Set, Congrats Stamp Set, Lotus Stamp Set What Isha Says: The flowers from the In Every Way Stamp Set were made for layering! I used them to create this fun and colorful background. WFC-12-21-Isha Gupta York Tee Products: Good Stuff Stamp Set, Tribal Bear Stamp Set, Good Stuff Die, and the Winter Blend Inkpad What York Tee Says: I applied three different Stamp Layering techniques for this Christmas card – layering using two step stamping set, one layered stamping and layering of grey pigment ink with colorful dye ink. First, I used Good Stuff Stamp Set to stamp the outlines of the bottle and the solid body and lid of the bottle. Then, I stamped randomly variety shape of stars and snowflakes using different colored ink on top of each other. For second and third, I layered a white tag on top of my white card base and stamped on the layers at the same time. After finished all the stamping, I layered a grey colored tag in between. Regarding the stamping, I stamped the lined patterns from Tribal Bear Stamp set with grey pigment ink and stamped over the background with colorful dye inks and watercolor strokes. WFC-12-21-York Tee Tessa Wise Products: Notions Stamp Set, Doily Circle Stamp Set What Tessa Says: I started by stamping the doily circle with white pigment ink onto my white card base. I let it dry completely and then went over it with some light pink ink. The white ink resists the pink. Next I stamped the threads in some fun colors. Last, I added the sentiment with black ink. I embellished with a few little heart stickers to finish it off. WFC-12-21-Tessa Wise Hope you are inspired to try the stamp layering technique! Find time to create and make something today!

Inspiration from the Challenge Team – December 7

on December 07, 2015
Happy Monday, everyone! Time for some inspiration from the Challenge Team! Annette, Shelly, and Laura Jane are here to share their takes on the December Waffle Flower Challenge! Join the fun by linking your projects to our challenge too! wfc201512 Our previous challenge winner: Anika Lerche is also sharing with us today! WFC-12-7 Guest Anika Anika says: For the background I stamped the sentiments in white pigment ink. I let it dry overnight. Then I stamped the dogs in dye ink over the white ink. For the main image I stamped the dog, added some dimension with Prismacolors and some details with a black gel pen. Using On My Mark Stamp Set, On My Mark Die, Monochrome Stamp Set WFC-12-7-Anika Lerche How cool is the hand stamped sentiment background on Anika's card? We also love that crisp black speech bubble for the sentiment! Thanks Anika for including the detailed shot! WFC-12-7-Anika Lerche2

Annette Allen

Using Stocking Stamp Set, Stocking Die, DT Mix Stamp Set, Flower Circles Die Annette says: I first stamped all the images on a scrap piece of paper. Using the Stamp Layering technique I stamped the stocking pattern from Stocking stamp set. Next I stamped over the heart from DT Mix this fun sentiment also from the Stocking stamp set. I LOVE this sketch so I added that into the mix also created a fun watercolor background just to give it a little more color. WFC-12-7-Annette Allen We are totally in love with this wonderful free-style collage look: the teal heart, the little dotted circle and the watercolored background! We also love that Annette stamped the long sentiment form Stocking stamp set on two lines to fit in the heart! Perfect!

Shelly Kurth

Using Surface Tag Stamp Set, Starry Night Stamp SetBe My Guest Stamp Set Shelly says: For my stamp layering I decided to overlap all my smaller stars in different shades of blue. WFC-12-7-Shelly Kurth Shelly, you've done it again! We are amazed at how you take all the inspiration and make it into something so simple yet so unique and fun! We love how you layered the star stamps!

Laura Jane

Using Stocking Stamp Set, Doily Circle Stamp Set Laura Jane says: I used the many different images from the STOCKING stamp set to create a layered "one of a kind" stocking:) Just a bit of masking magic allowed for flawless ink color changes. The Doily Circle stamp set added an extra layer of goodness to my card base. WFC-12-7-Laura Jane We love that Laura Jane leaves the images uncolored - the "hand-drawn" look adds so much to a Christmas card. Did you see that doily flower stamp peeking from the top right corner? So fun! ___ Aren't these cards fantastic? For more details, please click on the designer's name/link! [Video] Doily Circle Art Journal Page

Hi there! It's Cheiron here with a guest post for you. Today, I have created a video that walks you through the steps I took to make this art journal page. I love playing with new color combinations and trying out different stamp sets together in my journal pages. I don't always finish one page at a time, but rather work on a few backgrounds at once. After making this page, I have several other doily pages in the works! Watch it below or in HD on Our Youtube Channel. Here are some photos of the finished page: doily art journal 2 by cheiron_ doily art journal 1 by cheiron_ doily art journal 3 by cheiron_ Thank you so much for sharing the fun with us today, Cheiron! Faber-Castell + Waffle Flower Inspiration Week - Day 1

on May 11, 2015
Hello everyone! Welcome to day 1 of Faber-Castell and Waffle Flower Inspiration Week! We team up with our friends at Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft to bring you an entire week of mixed-media inspiration! Blog-hop-badge-Faber-Castell-Waffle-Flower We have Tessa here today! DesignTeamHeadshots-Tessa Hi everyone! I created a mixed media canvas.  It measures 12 x 6". Flower Canvas 5 I started by painting the outside edges with a citrus green paint.  I then layered torn book pages to create the background.  I used the Faber-Castell Gel Medium to decoupage them down piece by piece. Collage 1 I added some background stamping next, using the heart from DT Mix Stamp Set and the doily from Doily Circle Stamp Set and black ink.  I added some random washi tapes too. My next layer was Faber-Castell's Whipped Spackle over the vines stencil. Collage 2 Once it was dry, I painted over the entire surface with gelatos. Collage 3 Next, I began to build my focal image- a pot with flowers from A Bunch Stamp Set and coordinating die.  The pot was torn out of a dictionary page and painted a terra cotta color.  I layered it over the center of the canvas using the Faber-Castell Gel Medium and darkened the edges with a black marker.  I used the Faber-Castell Pitt artist pens to shadow it in even more. Collage 4 I stamped the flowers from the Bloom Stamp Set on white cardstock with black ink.  I used #16 Sunshine from the Waffle Flower Summer Blend Ink Pad to stamp each of the centers and then diecut them all out using the Bloom Die Set. Collage 5 I adhered them to the canvas with a mix of foam adhesives and regular adhesives for dimension. Flower Canvas 3 More beautiful details: Flower Canvas 4 -- Tessa Thank you for sharing with us today, Tessa!

[Video] Take a Challenge with Mayline Jung

on May 04, 2015
DesignTeamHeadshots_MaylineHello crafty friends! It’s Mayline here today to share my card for this month’s Waffle Flower challenge. Waffle Flower Challenge-20150427 When I saw the inspiration photo, I wanted to get a big gold framed mirror for my bedroom. Unfortunately, my room is too small for a big mirror like this. I cannot have this beautiful mirror in real life but I can put one on a card! I am also drawn to the other details in the photo: flowers, pots and bottles on the drawer dresser! Isn’t it a interesting combination? I incorporated this look on my cards. They are simple and clean cards that are easy and fun to make! Here’s a quick video to show you how I made the cards.

I stamped them using Summer Blend Inkpad, the color numbers are 14(Waterfall), 13(Malibu) and 10(Wild Orchid). challenge-card-by-mayline-3 challenge-card-by-mayline-4 Don’t forget to check out this month's challenge and the new products released in April.
