Happy Monday, everyone! Time for some inspiration from the Challenge Team! Shelly, Laura Jane along with our guest spot winner Amina are here to share their takes on this month's Waffle Flower Challenge! Join the fun by linking your projects to our challenge too! wfc-201604-photo Marcie Sharp Products: Magical Stamp Set Lacy Flowers Die Celebrate Word Die Lacy Flower Mats Die WFC 4-11 Marcie Sharp What Marcie Says: I used the colours in the inspiration picture and channelled all the springtime vibes I could to create a pretty floral focal piece for my card. The Lacy Flower Mats Die and Lacy Flowers Die made this SO easy to do. Repeatedly stamping the thin lines from the Magical set and adding few ink splatters in a tone on tone look make a plain yellow card base a little more interesting. Finally, a bold pink sentiment draws your eye right where it needs to go and sequins give it a bit of bling. :) Daria Grushina Products: Leafy Stamp Set WFC 4-11 Daria Grushina What Daria Says: I was inspired by the gorgeous bouquet from the inspiration photo and decided to make my own... Unfortunately I do not have any umbrella die (that would look cool too)... So I just took a piece of craft cardstock to make the packaging and then colored and fussy cut lots and lots of flowers from Leafy Stamp set... Using coordinating dies would be so much faster... but they are still on my shopping list (wink) Shona Chambers Products: Awesome Word Die Congrats Stamp Set Willy Stamp Set Welcome Spring Stamp Set WFC 4-11 Shona Chambers What Shona Says: Using the tulip image as the focal point, I stamped the images in black on the card front and coloured with pencils. The word die was die-cut 3x, glued together and adhered to the card along with the rest of the sentiment. Thank you for sharing such beautiful creations with us, Ladies! We're lucky to have you! Hello everyone! When Valentine's Day is around the corner, we just want to make everything pink/purple, right? Our friend Melania has a birthday card for you in these beautiful colors! Magical Birthday Card Hi, Melania here! I used Magical Stamp Set and Magical Die to make a lovely birthday card. I heat embossed the stamps in silver and used vellum for the wings. The word "Magical" is heat embossed in white for a crisp contrast to the blended background. I watercolored the flowers, cutout with the matching dies and adhered them to card with foam tape. Magical Birthday Card 2 --- Isn't this a magical card? Thank you for sharing with us today, Melania! Find time to create and make something today!

Inspiration from the Challenge Team – January 4

on January 04, 2016
Happy Monday, everyone! Time for some inspiration from the Challenge Team! Annette, Shelly, and Laura Jane are here, along with our previous challenge winner Quyen Ngo to share their takes on the January Waffle Flower Challenge! Join the fun by linking your projects to our challenge too!

Annette Allen

Using: Monochrome Stamp SetDoily Square DieWilly and Friends Die WFC-1-04-Annette Allen
What Annette Says: I first die cut Waffle Flowers Crafts: Doily Square Die and then used it as a stencil. Using dabblers I added this fun colorful blend of colors. I then die cut the middle using the Doily Square Die and created a fun window almost like if you were going to create a shaker card just minus the sequins. Finishing off with rounding the corners.

Shelly Kurth

Using: In Every Way Stamp SetLoved Stamp SetTiny Wings Die WFC-1-04-Shelly Kurth
What Shelly Says: For my stenciling, I chose to make my own stencil using the Tiny Wings die. I took a piece of scrap paper and one by one placed the butterfly where I wanted it and ran it through my die cutting machine. Thus giving me my stencil.

Laura Jane

Using: Magical Stamp SetHoliday Labels: MerryIn Every Way Stamp Set; Surface - Tag Die - Scallop Add-on WFC-1-04-Laura Jane
What Laura Says: For my card I started out with a stencil made from the Tag Scallop Die. To create a "window", I inked it up with Distress Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean and Seedless Preserves. Then I added several snowflakes and trees, embossed in different colors, for a wintery scene. Finished it off with the Magical Die in Silver paper:)

[Guest] Quyen Ngo

Using: Bowtiful Stamp Set WFC-1-14-Guest Quyen Ngo
What Quyen Says: I used distress inks in peacock feathers and tumbled glass to sponge on a template. I then repositioned the template slightly offset and used a white gelly roll pen to trace over the spaces. After the ink was dried, I stamped the sentiment and bow image (from Waffle Flower bowtiful stamp set) in VersaFine Onyx Black and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. As it was a simple card, to finish, I rounded the outer edges and put on some gems in random places for a little sparkle.

DesignTeamHeadshots-LorenaCantoHello friends! Lorena here with a Christmas card that is probably one of my favorites ever! I played with different Waffle Flower Crafts products to show you how great they mix. Can you spot how many different ones I used? magical1 I’ve been wanting to use the gorgeous lace tape from the Fun Finds section for some time, and this was the perfect project. I adhered a few strips of the tape to a piece of cardstock, and die cut it with the Doily Square die. Tada! Christmas ornaments! The bows come from Stocking die. magical 2 Before adhering the ornaments and the silver cord to the card I heat embossed a sentiment from Magical stamp set. magical 3 And that’s it! I love the little dots around the ornaments. Nothing can beat a well designed die, right? What about you? Are you making time for Christmas crafting? It’s definitely one of the things I love from the Season. Thank you so much for stopping by!

[Five for Friday] Holiday Planning - Katie Gehring

on November 20, 2015
DesignTeamHeadshots-KatieGehringHello friends,
Katie here.  It’s not even Thanksgiving yet, and I have big, big plans for this holiday season.  Check it out.
This year we are forgoing our traditional live cut evergreen in favor of a white Christmas tree. I hope that ours looks as fun and festive as the one pictured below.
These paper ornaments would look stunning on our white tree.  The 3D Diamond Template Die and the Rosette Hearts Template Die will come in handy if I try to recreate this look myself.
I also love the whimsical look of these DIY pom pom pinecones.  These would be easy enough for the kids to create.
More Pom-Poms- in this case the wool felted kind- make for a charming garland.
I have a tendency to horde those super cute paper straws. This wreath would give me a way to use up my stash and pick up a few more.

My project

As you know, all this holiday magic doesn’t happen on its own.  That’s why I took a few minutes earlier this month to create a holiday planner using a notebook that you can find in the dollar spot at a craft store. It’s small and light enough to slip in my pocket book when I am out and about and I can leave my larger planner at home. I used the Magical Stamp Set along with Stay Focused Die to create this holiday planner.  In this planner, I will track all my lists, ideas, and to-dos to help make this holiday magical.  Stop by my blog for more details.

[Guest] Magical Holiday Cards by Kay Miller & Mom

on November 19, 2015
Hello everyone! Kay Miller is back on the blog today! --- Hello! I’m thrilled to be back guesting with Waffle Flower today! I have a card I made with the gorgeous Magical stamp set, matching dies and Magical Word die set. KayM-Magical2 To start off, using watercolor paper, I stamped the tiny row of trees down at the bottom right corner. I then took some Peerless watercolors and created my background blending the trees in just a bit and giving them that watercolored look. I set this aside to dry while I stamped the horse and flowers on watercolor paper and colored them with the same colors I used in the background. I cut these out with the matching dies and adhered them to my card with foam tape. I stamped the sentiment in black ink across the top and cut out the Magical Word die and glued that down just underneath. I added a few clear sequins to give it a festive look! KayM-Magical My Mom has horse and loves to make cards with horse stamps, so when she saw my card she wanted to create something similar. She loved this stamp set from Waffle Flower! Her card turned out so beautifully that I wanted to share it too! KKHanson-horse Thanks so much for stopping by and huge thanks to Waffle Flower for having me as their guest! --- Thank you for sharing with us today, Kay! Your mom's card is just as darling as yours! You rocked the sets!

[Guest] Magical Birthday Card by Kay Miller

on October 08, 2015
Hello everyone! Waffle Flower friend Kay Miller is on the blog today! We are so glad to see some of our seasonal products used on a birthday card! KayM-TribalPattern Hello! I am thrilled to be guesting with Waffle Flower this month! For my first card I used the Tribal Pattern die, The Tribal Bear stamp set, and the Magical stamp set. I started by blending Distress inks onto a piece of watercolor paper. I used Peacock Feathers, Peeled Paint, Crushed Olive, Mustard Seed, and Spiced Marmalade. I then speckled it with water and some of the same colors that I had used to blend, then let this dry very well. I then cut the Tribal Patterned die out, and I glued this to the front of my top folded A2 size card base. I stamped the feathers from the Tribal Bear stamp set onto some of the paper that I had used the Distress inks on, and embossed this with white embossing powder. I cut those out with the matching dies and adhered them to my card with foam tape. I then stamped the two sentiments from the Magical stamp set onto some dark brown card stock, and embossed them with white embossing powder. I cut those out, and adhered them below the feathers with foam tape. KayM-TribalPattern2 - Kay   Thank you for sharing with us today, Kay! Your creation is delightful as always!
