I stamped the bear image first in center. Using masking paper I stamped the bear again and covered so I could create this fun feather wreath around the bear. Stamp the feather image twice on masking paper and trim. Stamp cover..stamp cover. You can use the same masking paper several times.

Using: Tribal Bear Stamp Set; Tribal Thank You Stamp Set; Tribal Bear Die

Shelly Kurth
I started by stamping on my leaves on multiple post it notes and cutting them out for the masks. After, I stamped my first leaf on my card where I wanted it. Then used a mask and stamped on my next leaf. I continued this process until I was happy with the amount of leaves I had and being sure to leave some space to add my monkeys in.

Hello everyone! Thank you so much for joining our Inspiration Week with Faber-Castell! We are in awe of all the beautiful creations shared over on Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Blog! Isn't it amazing to see what you can do with Gelatos and Gessos? We hope you are inspired and encouraged to incorporate more fun art medium in your card making! Blog-hop-badge-Faber-Castell-Waffle-Flower The fun of doing what we do is to try different things, right? We have Lorena here with a bonus project for you! DesignTeamHeadshots-LorenaCanto Hello and happy weekend, friends! Lorena here to close this fabulous week full of inspiration with Waffle Flower Crafts and Faber Castell Design Memory Craft. I had a blast pairing their awesome products together! Let me show you what I did: WFC-Faber Castell 1 For my project, I wanted to give a try to the Stamper’s Big Brush Pens and after experimenting a bit with them, I thought they would work really well for the “smooshing” technique that is all the rage lately. So I scribbled with three different colors (Violet, Cold Gray and Flesh) on a piece of acetate, sprayed it with water and smooshed a piece of cardstock on the acetate… and magic happened! I love, love that kind of marbled look! WFC-Faber Castell 2 Once the cardstock was dry, I stamped and heat embossed a sentiment from Doily Square stamp set. To ground the sentiment, I used the triangles strip from Pattern Play stamp set. This time, I used the Stamper’s Big Brush Pens in Violet, Cold Gray and White to color straight on the stamp and the result was pretty cool, too! WFC-Faber Castell 3To make the butterfly, I played around with Gelatos in Guava, Raspberry and Silver. I started by scribbling with the gelatos on a piece of linen cardstock and blended the colors with my finger. Then, I used the colored piece to die cut the Tiny Wings die. I also cut it a few times from vellum and then adhered all the tiny butterflies together. The texture and dimension on this little embellishment are fab! WFC-Faber Castell 4I finished the card adhering a piece of silver shimmer paper to the card base, and then adhered the focal piece with foam tape. Thank you so much for stopping by and I hoped you enjoyed this last project! Don’t forget to come back on Monday to check the giveaway winners!

Faber-Castell & Waffle Flower Inspiration Week - Day 3 - [Video] How to Add Texture & Color to Card Using Gelatos

Hello everyone! Welcome to day 3 of Faber-Castell and Waffle Flower Inspiration Week! We team up with our friends at Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft to bring you an entire week of mixed-media inspiration! Blog-hop-badge-Faber-Castell-Waffle-Flower We have Mayline here today! DesignTeamHeadshots_Mayline Hello everyone, it’s Mayline here today to share. Faber-Castell has amazing products; there are watercolor pencils, Crayons, Pastels, Pens, and so on. I believe that the most innovative product from Faber-Castell is Gelatos. Gelatos are very buttery so you can easily blend them like Pastels using fingers without water. They are also watersoluble so they can be used to create watercolor effects. How great is that?! I am fully in love with the Gelatos. They also work well with Waffle Flower products! Let’s take a look at my projects.

Project 1

It was my first time trying to create a mixed-media project using Gelatos and Textural Accents Whipped Spackle. I did not know what to do or how to apply them. So I watched tutorials on YouTube and found many techniques. I used simple techniques on my first card. textured-stripes-love-you-a-bunch Here are a few pictures to show you how easy it was to create the background for the card. textured-stripes-love-you-a-bunch-steps
  1. Use washi tape to create stripes on cardstock.
  2. Apply “Lemon” Gelato; blend with finger.
  3. Mix Whipped Spackle with "Lemon" Gelato; apply to the left side of the card base; let dry.
  4. Apply a random coat of Whipped Spackle for additional texture; let dry.
  5. Peel off washi tape.
As a result, I made a textured yellow-striped background. Here are some close-ups: textured-stripes-love-you-a-bunch-closeup-1 textured-stripes-love-you-a-bunch-closeup-2 textured-stripes-love-you-a-bunch-closeup-3 textured-stripes-love-you-a-bunch-closeup-4 I used three different ink colors to create a blended look on the petals. It is a fast and easy technique and here are a few pictures to show you how. I used A Bunch Stamp Set , A Bunch Die and Spring Blend inkpad, the color numbers are 4(Sweet lilac), 5(Pretty Peony) and 6(Rose Bud). doily-congrats-card-by-mayline-flowers

Project 2

I had fun getting messy with the Gelatos and Whipped Spackle on my second card. I used Doily Circle Die from Waffle Flower as the stencil for this technique. doily-congrats-card-by-mayline Here are a couple of close-ups: doily-congrats-card-by-mayline-closeup doily-congrats-card-by-mayline-texture And a quick video to show you how I made the card. Watch it here or on Waffle Flower's Youtube Channel here. http://youtu.be/mud88qPYZoo I used A Bunch Stamp Set & A Bunch Die (flowers), Congrats Die (sentiments), Doily Circle Die (yellow background), Pattern Play Stamp Set (banner) from Waffle Flower, and Gelatos (Lemon, Guava, Bubble Cum, and Metallic Melon) and Artist Pens (SILVER 251 and Gold 250) from Faber Castell faber-castell-products   That’s all for today. I hope you like my mixed-media projects and are inspired to make something yourself. --- Mayline Thank you for sharing your amazing cards with us, Mayline! We loved watching the video!

Five for Friday - Making Lists with Lorena

DesignTeamHeadshots-LorenaCanto Hello, friends! Lorena here with a new rendition of our Five for Friday feature. I’m sure many of you are with me on this: Making a list and checking it twice is not just for Christmas. Right? I live making lists (that’s not a typo. I truly “live” making lists. And I love it too) and I know there are lots of people like me out there. Well, lucky us, making lists has become quite the trend lately! Perhaps it has been triggered by the planner craze trend. But however it happened, the love for list making has definitely won a place in the paper crafting industry! There are beautiful list pads ready for us to use. lists-pic1

Or you can make your own pretty list pad and decorate it to your heart’s content. lists-pic2

Using a list related comparison to declare your love? It can be done now. lists-pic3

There are many places where you can write down a list. Even in the shower… lists-pic 4

Lists themselves are coming out of our purses and planners to become pretty decorative prints lists-pic 5

So, for someone who loves list making and also loves stamping, stamp sets like On My Mark or Planner:Stay Focused are basically a dream come true! Obviously, stamping your own lists is the first thing that comes to mind (check this awesome idea from Design Team member Katie Gehring), but there are many other things you can make with them. Like making a list-inspired birthday card… List card 1 I stamped the background using Pattern Play stamp set and On My Mark stamp set to stamp both the list numbers and the “to do” items. The cute heart comes from Monochrome stamp set. List card 2 The list was framed using the Surface – Tag die – Scallop add on dies. I used a simple method to alter it’s size so it would fit the list. I’m showing how to do it on my blog, hope to see you there, too! Thanks for visiting and happy weekend!

[Watch It Wednesday] Painted & Stamped Stripe Background - Sabrina Alery

DesignTeamHeadshots-Sabrina Perfect-Painted-Stripes-Waffle-Flower-Crafts-Sabrina-Alery-1 Hi guys! It’s Sabrina with your Watch it Wednesday video. Today I was in the mood for a little experimenting and tried out a background created by painting and stamping some simple stripes. Using supplies in a freehand sort of method, like painting, always makes me really nervous! Once you put it down on paper, there’s no repositioning or turning back. Perfect-Painted-Stripes-Waffle-Flower-Crafts-Sabrina-Alery-2 If that describes you too, don’t be afraid to experiment. You may end up with something that looks great and that you love! And if it’s not perfect, use my tricks for disguising those imperfections. ☺

Take a Challenge with Kim Kesti

DesignTeamHeadshots-KimKesti Hello everyone! Kim Kesti is back with another take on our current challenge! Waffle Flower Challenge-20150209 Kim says,
I really love this month's Photo Inspiration! It's pretty obvious by looking at my card that I was inspired by the trio of pots (I even did a little masking to layer the succulents and pots), but I was also drawn to the strong horizontal lines in the photo. I wanted to add a little drama to my cacti, so I added the stamped patterned paper on the right (I used the new Pattern Play stamp set) and the little sprinkling of inky dots on my main stamped image to tie everything together. I can't wait to send this card to a friend! (Other stamps sets used: Potted and Planted).
