I am surprised to read the review below. Yes, this stencil is delicate, Pixie spray used together with strong magnet’s (even better, with the the stencil and card stock pushed right up into the corner of your Misty with the magnets, if you own one) and a very delicate pounce of a sponge tool, I assure you you will have success. YouTube the stencil and see how people work with it.
Take your time. Dab on pigment Oxide Ink with a sponge rather than trying to blend dye ink in with a brush. Dye ink almost always requires more blending and is typically harder to blend because of the quick drying time. Oxide ink is like blending with butter… so easy.
Regardless, it’s a stencil to replicate wood so no matter the application of ink and if the stencil slips a little it should look great; even more realistic with imperfections. Wood has a very organic/imperfect look and that’s the beauty of it. Try Hammermill cardstock, which has the most amazing silky feel to it, almost like a plastic coating (it doesn’t though) allowing the ink to stay wet a bit longer on the paper therefore blending is easier and more forgiving. Do a pounce type of blending. You could try Yupo paper too. Better yet call Waffle Flower and they will definitely help you out. Don’t just write them off, they are an excellent company.
Rest assured, your other products are going to be great; give them a chance. The company has been around for over 10 years and I know for a fact that companies in the craft manufacturing world do not stay in business for that long for if they have inferior product and most of all poor customer service. They are great to deal with!!!
Don’t stress.
