Thanks for stopping by for Day 3 of the Waffle Flower February Release Introductions! Today, we’re introducing more from the February release, and we’re continuing our discussion of card design with backgrounds!

One easy way to bring interest to your card backgrounds is with a panel die. In this card, Arjita uses the new Geometric Panel Die to create a fun and modern base for her card. By using a white panel over the white card front, she gets lots of texture without taking away from those beautiful focal flowers.

Instead of going full panel, how about going mini? Mini tags, that is. For this card, Dilay uses the Multi-tag Tool Die to cut tags for her background. The Multi-tag Tool Die was originally designed to make it easy to produce tags in bulk, but the tags work as small panels for the sentiment and other decorative elements.

Another technique for creating interesting backgrounds is using a single element repeatedly to create a pattern. In this card, Galina cut multiples of the new Layered Flowers Die set to create this repeat floral pattern.
