Foiling with Waffle Flower Hot Foil Plates
Hello everyone! Nina here!
We've been busy behind the scenes for many months and we’re so happy that we can finally share these new foil plates with you!
Due to unexpected delays, the foil plates are arriving late. You can pre-order them now and we should be able to start shipping this Friday 1/28/2022. Pre-order will be closed once the coming shipment is sold-out.
I may have made my new favorite card of all time using this release!
My inspiration for the background came from this awesome gallery wall designed by Gill & Lagodich:
The mix of textures and hues is just amazing! I hope you can tell the semblance in the background of my card?
I created a video to share how I created the background using the new Triple Line Diamond Foil Plate and the coordinating Two-step Diamond Stencil! The foil I used on this card is called Speckled Aura that is included in our Glimmer Foil Favorites Pack!

The gorgeous peonies are from the new Elegant Flowers Stamp Set and colored with the Layering Stencil!
The stencil set includes 4 layers for each flower and 2 layers for each leaf. Line-up is easy because the guide lines are build-in! Check out my video below to see them in action! I also included some DT projects in the video, don't forget to check out the details during this hop!

Hot foiling is addicting! The Glimmer machine does take a while to heat up. I usually just trim the foil and paper for the next run while waiting. After each section, I ended up with a whole stack of backgrounds and sentiments to use later. If you wonder what happened to the blue triple line diamond background piece, I used it on another card! It just adds the perfect amount of shine to a card!
We have many tutorial videos coming to our YouTube, Facebook and Instagram, but I will share one more today to show how I made these two cards using a MISTI technique that has been my favorite ever since I saw our design team member Galina used it in a video.
[Video] MISTI Sandwiching Technique for Coloring
Basically you will sandwich your coloring in tween two layers of stamped outlines for a crisp finish. With stamps that provide just enough amount of details, such as the Violet and Primrose set used here, coloring is made easy!
I taped the whole set to the MISTI but you can use this technique for individual stamps too. Just remember not to remove the stamp from the MISTI until you are done with the top layer of Versafine ink stamping!
