Hello and welcome to the Waffle Flower March 2022 Release introductions! We’re finally moving into Spring (at least for us folks in North America), and we’re all hoping for sunnier days! All of these products will be available on March 10th! Today we are introducing the new Personal Card line that includes the Personal Card Die, Personal Envelope Die, and the Personal Sentiments Stamp Set! There are some occasions when only a hand-delivered card will do. Something about the smaller size and the fact that it is given in person makes these cards feel special. It may be a small...

Written by Waffle Flower product designer JJ Bolton Welcome back for another installment of card design tips and tricks! Today we’re talking about composition! Composition is a term used to describe the way elements are arranged and combined in a piece or frame. Artists, architects, and photographers often follow composition rules to help them achieve results that are pleasing to the eye but still interesting. Without getting into the math of it all (yes, there’s math involved!), these guidelines work because the human eye is naturally attracted to certain proportions and find certain configurations aesthetically pleasing. Here’s just a few...

Written by Waffle Flower product designer JJ Bolton Here at Waffle Flower, we’re cardmakers just like you and we face the same design dilemmas. This month, we’re discussing some card design tips and tricks that help us when we’re stuck.  The card design topic today is the concept of visual repetition. The word and outline...

For more details, check out our intro posts below: Day 1 - Focal Point Day 2 - Sentiments Day...

Thanks for stopping by for Day 3 of the Waffle Flower February Release Introductions! Today, we’re introducing more from the February release, and we’re continuing our discussion of card design with backgrounds! One easy way to bring interest to your card backgrounds is with a panel die. In this card, Arjita uses the new Geometric Panel Die to create a fun and modern base for her card. By using a white panel over the white card front, she gets lots of texture without taking away from those beautiful focal flowers.  Geometric Panel Die Instead of going full panel, how about...
