B for Blossoms Origami Tutorial

Hello everyone! Nina here with another project for GCD Studios. This week we are challenged to create something related to Bs: Basket, Birds, Bee, Bunny and Blossoms! :) I made this bouquet for my Blossoms assignment:)

The blossoms are based on the traditional origami flower. The original version was designed for thin and single-sided origami paper. Here is my version for the beautiful heavy weight double-sided pattern paper:) Save half the amount of paper used and get this beautiful double-sided look! :) Let's get started!

Supplies:

Pattern Paper: (Striking Stripe, Flowery, Flower Child Plaid, Wondering Geo and Organic Geo from Flower Child Collection) GCD Studios

We will need three 3" x 3" squares of paper for one flower.

Other Supplies: paper trimmer, bone folder, scotch tape, double-side tape (or liquid glue) and clips.

[OPTIONAL] Score the squares at 1.5" both horizontally and vertically before Step 1. We are working with thick high quality paper, scores will make the folds easier.

STEP 1: Trim the squares into triangles.

STEP 2: Take one triangle, fold as shown on both sides (at the pre-scored lines); open up.

STEP 3: Fold as shown. Do not go over the first fold lines.

STEP 4: Fold the small flap down then fold back.

Do so on both sides.

STEP 5: Hold the flap down and fold at the first folded line.

Do so on both sides.

STEP 6: Bring the sides together as shown: Use a piece of scotch tape to secure.

STEP 7: Prepare the rest of the petals. Add tape (or liquid glue) on one side close to the edge:

Adhere two petals together and use a paper clip to help holding them together while the glue dries. Make two 3-petal-group.

Adhere the two 3-petal groups together.

Wait for the glue to dry.

You can use a lollipop stick for the stem.

Ooh la la! You are done!
