We have Channin Pelletier on the blog today! Take it away, Channin!
Hello everyone! I'm super excited to be participating in Waffle Flower's and Xyron's Inspiration Week!
I had so much fun creating that I made 3 cards! Even though I made 3 different cards I did pretty much the same thing for each of them.
I used the wonderful Flower Circles Inverted dies to create the circle designs. I left the dies unclipped, just like they come out of the packaging, so all the cuts would be centered every time I used them. I used the dies to cut two sets of circles out of rust, orange, mint, turquoise, and teal cardstock.
I trimmed down the rust and teal paper scraps to create two 5” x 7” panels. I then glued these panels down on a 5” by 7” panel of white cardstock.
Next, I arranged my inlaid circle sets in the color combos I wanted. I then held them in place with bits painters tape on the front and ran them through Xyron’s Create a Sticker Max machine to add adhesive to the backs of the cuts. I can be messy with glue and struggle with tape runners when working with smaller bits of paper. But the Create a Sticker Max machine made adhering my circle designs so so easy and clean, I loved using it!
Next, I inlaid my circle design into the rust and teal panels for the front and middle cards. For my third card, I just adhered my circle designs on top of a 5” x 7” panel of rust cardstock. I then had to trim all my panels to remove the overhang from the circles.
Next, I cut some strips of vellum, then stamped a sentiment from the Bowtiful set in black pigment ink and clear embossed it. I then stamped the sentiment again on scraps of orange, mint, and turquoise cardstock. I then trimmed these down to just the “your special day” portion of the sentiment. I then placed the vellum strips on the panels and folded the edges over and taped them down in the back. I then adhered the panels onto my card base and lastly adhered the “your special day” strips onto the vellum.
Hope you enjoyed!!
