Care Tips
• Clean with water or a photopolymer-safe cleaner as needed
• Avoid alcohol and chemical-based cleaners
• Use a non-scratch dish sponge to gently remove small particles like bits of die-cut paper
• Avoid scratchy materials and sharp edges
• Do not use embossing powders, glitters, or other fine powders over the mat, they can be difficult to remove
• Do not place foiled images or printed acetate in direct contact with the mat. The foil/print may transfer and is very difficult to remove
• Alcohol-based markers like Copics can permanently stain the mat. To protect the surface, nest your small diecuts back into the negative piece when coloring.
• Store on the included acetate sheet, or between two sheets of parchment paper
• Avoid wax paper, wax may transfer to the mat
• Do not stack heavy items on top for an extended time
To minimize paper warping and tearing, gently peel the mat away from your paper.
Disclaimer
Grip Mats are made from soft, high-quality photopolymer. Slight variations such as air bubbles, surface cloudiness, or staining from certain inks are normal and do not affect performance. Over time and with use, wear and tear should be expected. Always handle with care and avoid contact with sharp tools, harsh chemicals, or abrasive materials.

I had my grip mat in my Misti and when I removed it, I placed the piece of black acetate on top to protect the mat. An hour later when I removed the black acetate piece, much of the black plastic stuck to my grip mat. It did come off with a lot of patience and peeling. A photo of the acetate piece is attached so you can see how much of the black element stuck to the mat. Beware - if you must put a cover back on the mat, do not use the black acetate piece - use a new piece of clear acetate instead!
I used the grip mat for stencilling and placed the black acetate piece on top when I was finished. When I went to clean the mat and pulled back the acetate an hour later, approx. 1/3 of the black residue from the acetate stuck to the grip mat! It was difficult to peel off. Beware - do not use the black acetate piece! Find another piece of acetate to cover your mat. The photo shows the acetate piece after it was peeled back from the mat - the clear areas are where the black residue stuck to my mat.

I have MANY grip mats - both from Waffle Flower and a different brand - this one with the black protector sheets is the most sticky of any of them. I bought one of these for all three of my Misti tools. Highly recommend!
