Welcome to day 2 of the introduction to our new release! If you've been following us, you might have noticed that August is a special month for us. In 2018, we releasedColor Swatches; in 2019, we releasedColor Combosand in 2020, we are releasing the Stitchables!
Cross-stitch was my main hobby before cardmaking. I love how simple the supplies are so I can stitch almost anywhere; I love how many colorful threads there are to collect; I also love that we could follow a pattern and get a fairly good result every single time! The only problem I had was that I couldn't find a way to put all my stitched projects to good use.
This idea came when I fell in love with cross-stitch all over again back in January this year. Now I can stitch my heart out and turn them into cards!
Today's Stitchables are probably more for experienced stitchers. The shapes are bigger with more stitches. They are equivalent to 10ct Aida. Our recommended needle size is #20-22 (#18 would be too big), 4-6 strands of embroidery floss and/or #5 DMC pearl cotton.
I always love the look of a cross stitched project with edges trimmed with pinking scissors. So I decided to add the pinking edges to these stitchable shapes. I left a fairly big border on these shapes so we can easily adhere them to cards.
I love how versatile these shapes are! All 4 will look great on A2 cards!
I followed a pattern designed by Susan Bates, exclusively for our Stitchables on this Pinking Rectangle! #20 needle with 4 strands of threads. This pattern is one of many that will be available for a free download on August 5th!
The design team and our guest designers also had a ball with these pinking shapes! Let's look at some examples!
Channin works wonders with Rainbows! These patterns will be available as a free download on August 5th!
There's more counting involved in Tessa's card here. She used #22 needle and 4 strands of threads. This pattern will also be available as a free download on August 5th!
Also in this release, we have many coordinating products to help make your diecutting/stitching experience easy and enjoyable!
A2 Piercing Panel Die
This die cuts an A2 sized rectangle with gridded piercing holes (equivalent to 14ct Aida) for a dainty look. Use the pierced holes as guides for stitching or use the die itself to quickly "poke out" the circles from the cutouts by the Stitchables.
Watch to see how it works in the video below:
We have more wonderful products to share, hope to see you again tomorrow!
