Today, we focus on the basic supplies for finishing your stitched projects into mailable cards!
Card Bases
All of our stitchables are designed for cards that fit into an A2 sized envelope. The card bases are usually 4.25" wide and 5.5" tall when folded. There are two basic ways to fold the card bases.
Side-folding
When the fold is along the longer edge of the card.
Top-folding
When the fold is along the shorter edge of the card.
The top-folding cards seem more popular in recent years but you can totally make your card go horizontal on a top-folding card if you want!
Above sample doesn't even have stitches on it! It is also trendy to leave part of the design un-stitched - perfect to add a sentiment to the card, don't you think?
Card Bases + Envelopes included in our kits
Committed card-makers usually make their own card bases from Letter-sized cardstock but in our kits, we will include a set of 4 top-folding card bases made from premium heavy weight cardstock. You will be able to tell the difference once you hold them in your hand.

Sentiments
Sentiments are words/greetings you add to a card. For our card-makers, finding the perfect sentiment for a card is always a big part of the fun!
If you are a stamper, you can find many wonderful sentiment stamps at Waffle Flower's website. But for our Stitchable Card Kits, we are including sentiment stickers and die-cuts that are based on some popular stamps by Waffle Flower.
