Hello everyone! Welcome to day 2 of a week long inspiration brought to you by Freckled Fawn and Waffle Flower Crafts! We have simplified the blog hop to two stops - our blog here and the blog of Freckled Fawn. Stop by both of our blogs for inspiration and prizes! We have our very talented design team member: Suzanne Dahlberg here today!

Hey everyone! It's
Suzanne here today with a fun holiday card that I made using Riverside die set, A Homemade Christmas stamp set, and some Pink Dew Drops from Freckled Fawn. I am going to show you the step-by-step of how I went about this, so let's get started!
The first step was choosing some coordinating green and blue cardstock for diecutting the tree shapes. I chose a traditional green, along with a pale blue and an aqua blue:

Next, diecut a bunch of trees in a variety of colors. Having lots handy for embellishing the card is easier than having to go back and forth to the diecutting machine for extras:

Before gluing anything, you can play with the diecuts until you get a pattern that you are happy with. I started with the largest trees first, and then went in to add the smaller ones later, being sure to alternate colors. This technique works well with a blocked sentiment like this one since it creates a "straight line" one which you can line up the trees. Keep your foam tape nearby to pop up the trees in the front and tweezers handy to make application easy:

The last step is adding the enamel dots to mimic ornaments - I use tweezers for this too. (Actually I use them so much in my crafting that I have several pairs of tweezers scattered around my craft room!) I tried to balance the colors and sizes of the Dew Drops across the card front. Load 'em up on there!

That is officially my first holiday card of the 2014 season! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
