Hello everyone! The
Sew Easy Stitching Templates have been on my wish list for a while. I placed my order for them as soon as they became available at
We R Memory Keepers's
official online store! WRMK is also generously giving me a set of the 4 new stitching templates as well as two spools of their Fancy Floss to giveaway on the blog here! Check out the details at the bottom of this post!

I tried the stitching templates on paper (
shared here) and decided to try a different surface with a masking technique! I'm very happy with my stitched muslin gift bag!

A closeup before we get into the how-tos!
How-tos
The Sew Easy template I used is call ICON. It is the red one with fun iconic images. The templates are just a couple of dollars each but if you want to start with one, I would recommend this Icon Template for everyday paper crafting needs.

The word bubble hello icon is on the bottom right of the template.

I first used a pen to mark the stitching holes on both the muslin bag and a piece of Post-It! note. I connected the dots on the paper to help guide me cutting it out to create a mask.

I then aligned the mask to the marks on the muslin bag and secured with some washi tape.

I then stenciled the word bubble with an ink that dries on fabric.

Easy Peasy!

I folded the edge of the bag down so it would be easier for me to reach the stitching holes. I didn't poke the holes because it was very easy to pull a needle through the muslin fabric. I used common
back stitch for this project.

I found it very soothing to stitch a little icon every now and then :) My stitching is not perfect but it makes me happy!

I’m new to the sewing world and have been wondering how people were making such adorable letters without an embroidery machine… what a genius idea!!! I love these patterns!!!!

These would be lovely for cards or little pillows!

I think the first item would be cards, and then gift bags with the new templates. Thanks for the chance to win.

I think my first project would be a gift bag, but I’d love to use it on a card as well. Thanks for the chance!

I would make a tea towel with them first.
