Saying Thank You to Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking Magazine
Hello everyone. I'm joining a group of crafters in a hop today to say thank you to a magazine that has brought us together: Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking Magazine. If you came from Bev's blog, you are right on track.
Since 2012, PCS has been a strong influence in my craft life. I like that it keeps up with the trends well and I can tell that a lot of time and care were put in each issue. I also appreciate that the team make the effort to build a craft community and organize events and activities. But the thing I am most thankful for PCS is the rejection I got from them.
Every card remains annoynmous until it is accepted during the PCS selection process. I know none of the rejections (the cards I submitted but didn't get picked up) were personal, which got me to wonder why and how can I improve. It was a wonderful process of taking the challenge to submit, getting the feedback and then studying the cards that were selected. This process helped me improve my card making skills tremendously.
It is also the rejections that gave me the thrill whenever I got a project or a few chosen for publication.
I love that PCS presented craft techniques alongside design and style in a logical, systematic way. The PCS team has done an excellent job putting together each issue for us. I am truly grateful. I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for PCS.
It is with a heavy heart that I am writing this post. I believe there are many reasons that caused the magazine to cease publication. I wish the PCS team, Jennifer, Susan, Stacy, Kerri, Holly, Matt and Melinda, best of luck in carrying on with your lives. I'm sure each of you will be an excellent addition to any team or business.
The creative seeds you have planted over the years will continue to grow and bloom. Thank you!
