Hello everyone! We have another guest today!

One thing I love about
JJ Bolton is that she is full of "surprises"! Her cards are created with fun techniques and clever uses of products, but there is usually something unexpected that makes me smile. On this card, that something is how JJ combined all four of our new sets together! I was all about critter stamps until JJ showed me what graphic stamps can do. I still collect cute images but my favorites are those ones that can be combined for endless possibilities.
JJ's product design reflects her creativity, do check them out! Now, take it away, JJ!
Snowy Night Glittery Shaker Card
Hi everyone! It’s JJ and I’m thrilled to be stopping in at Waffle Flower! I’m in love with all the new sets, and I put them all together to create this glittery shaker, snowy night Christmas card! (That’s a mouthful;) When I saw the winding river die of the
Riverside set, I knew it would make a great shaker card!

So I started my card by die cutting the river into an A2-sized rectangle panel. Then I masked off a “hill” with some Post-It tape. To create the night sky, I blended 3 different dye inks in swirls with a sponge. Then I stamped the trees along the hillside. The last step was to stamp the stars and snow. To get a random look, I stamped the stars multiple times in white ink, gold ink, and water. The water doesn’t really create an image but gives the dye inks a very subtle texture.

I left a little area clear so that I could stamp the Merry Christmas sentiment from the
A Homemade Christmas set. After I let all the stamping dry a bit, I turned it over and created the shaker. I used 1/4” foam tape to create the border to hold my glitter. To shape the foam strip around the aperture, I snipped it around the corners (don’t cut all the way through, just enough to bend). I filled the foam reservoir with all different sizes and shapes of white, clear, light blue, dark blue, and gold glitter and applied the card base. The final result looks like a sparkly river reflecting a starry sky or maybe the reflection of the northern lights:)

Big thanks to Nina for having me guest today! It’s been so much fun playing with all the new release goodies!
