Hello everyone! In this week's Watch It Wednesday video, our design team member Sabrina takes you out in the sun, sharing a fun chalk on vellum look with masking technique!
Hi there! Sabrina here today with another trick for using our chalk ink blends! Masking certainly isn’t a new trick but it’s one that never gets old and it seems like there are always many new ways to try it.
How about on vellum? You can blend it and stamp with it – using a mask of not – because chalk ink is one of the only ink varieties that will dry on a glossy surface like vellum. Allow it to sit overnight or speed up the process with a heat tool – just be careful not to get too close!
And a closeup to see all the beautifully blended colors!
Thank you for sharing with us today, Sabrina! Love your take on the masking technique!

I am working on some thank you cards and am using vellum for the first time. I cut out a tag and stamped “thanks” at the bottom. I used Ranger Archival ink and it dried with no problems. I worried about the ink smearing before it dried. I didn’t want to use my heat gun because I worried the vellum would warp. I am happy with how it came out. I do like your vellum card and may try your technique. Thanks for your video!! Have a good weekend!
