#TBT - Santa Gift Card Holder by Katie
Hello crafty friends,
Katie here with a new feature on the Waffle Flower Blog, Throwback Thursday also referred to as #TBT! In this series, I will be sharing ideas for combining Waffle Flower Craft’s newest stamps and dies with some previously released and well loved sets.
For my first project, I wanted to combine the new Gift Bag Die with a couple of the Surface Tag Die add ons- the Santa Add On and the Scallop Add On.
First, I die cut all the gift bag and the elements that I need from the Surface Tag Add On sets. To make Santa’s beard wide enough to fit across the front of the gift bag, I rounded one edge. I also die cut two of the Santa’s belts to accommodate the wider front of the gift bag.
I assembled the gift bag, by adhering the handle to the back of the bag so as not to interfere with Santa’s beard. Next I added some details using the Scalloped border detail and the belt with gold buckle. I decided to adhere the gift bag to a kraft card base, but decided to dress it up a bit by pulling out another older stamp set, A Homemade Christmas. I stamped the small stars included in the stamp set onto the note card using Coffee Loves Milk dye ink.
Once the background was stamped, I stamped a sentiment- also from A Homemade Christmas- with black ink, adhered the gift bag to the card with score-tape and slipped a gift card inside. There you have it, the Gift Bag die is all dressed up for the holidays! If you need to send gift cards to far away family and friends over the holidays, this card lays flat for easy mailing- nothing dimensional to get smashed in the mail.
Well that’s all for me today, but I hope that you enjoyed this project combining new and old adding up to even more creative possibilities. If you have a suggestion for a Waffle Flower stamp set or a die that you would like to see featured in a upcoming Throwback Thursday just let me know by leaving me a comment below.
Thanks for stopping by!
