Fun with Vellum - Trick AND Treat Card by Channin

Hello everyone! It’s Channin here to share with you a fun card I made for Halloween! I just love Halloween and I just adore Waffle Flower Crafts’ new Trick or Treat stamp and die set and of course I couldn’t resist making another card with them!
This time I played around with the ghost images to create a little scene where it appears the little boy ghost has been a tad naughty and, to his sister’s shock and dismay, has eaten all of her candies. I had a lot of fun creating this scene, I even altered the little ghost images just a bit to better create the story.
First, I stamped in black ink and clear embossed both the ghosts from the Trick or Treat stamp set on a scrap of vellum. However, before I stamped, I carefully wiped away the ink on the stamp where the girl ghost’s mouth and the boy ghost’s arms had been. I then cut my stamped vellum ghosts with the matching dies and just cut off the little arm bump on the boy. I also cut out an additional girl and boy ghost with the dies but without the stamping this time to create blank backs that I will adhere to the stamped ghosts later. I then stamped the pumpkin basket and the smallest candy 5 times in copic-friendly black ink on a scrap of white cardstock.
I then colored the stamped images with my copics but added some striped lines to the candies with my prismacolor color pencils. When I was done coloring I fussy cut the basket and the candies out. Next, I stamped the “trick or treat” sentiment in black and then clear embossed it in the center of a 4 ½” by 6” panel of white cardstock. I then crossed out the “or” and wrote “and” next to it with a black marker.
I then placed my colored candies in the center of the unstamped vellum boy ghost and then squeezed tiny dots of glossy accents around the edges to adhere the stamped ghost on top and sandwich the candies inside. I then drew stripes on the girl ghost’s bow and a little oval for her mouth with a black marker and then glued her to her back in the same manner I did the boy. Lastly, I adhered the basket onto the girl ghost, the ghosts onto the panel, and then the panel onto my 5” by 6 ½” card base. I hope you enjoyed my card and thanks for stopping by!!
