Day-11-of-12-Days-of-Gift-Giving-with-Teri Hello everyone! Welcome to Day 11 of our Twelve Days of Gift Giving event! Today we have one of our craft idols on the blog! Teri Anderson from A bit of this. A bit of that. We may never be as crafty as Teri but we can certainly try making these adorable lip balm gift holders following her detailed instruction here! You know someone is a crafting genius when she can transfer some simple supplies into something amazing like these, right? Enjoy!

Make Lip Balm Gift Holders with Teri Anderson

Hi everyone! Teri here, and I'm sure excited to contribute a project to Waffle Flower's Twelve Days of Gift Giving event! I'd like to present to you my lip balm gift holders. These gift holders take a little bit of time to make, but they are sure to please. You'll need: The first thing you'll need to do is find some lip balm in a blister-style package. I am using Chapstick that I found for a $1 at a local box store. Now, you'll need to make a base for your lip balm wrap. Cut a 3 1/5" x 9" rectangle. Set it horizontally on a scoring board. You'll score lines at the 4" and 5" marks. wf_s1_teri Fold it up and then flatten the wrap and get ready to decorate it. Ink up the label from the Holiday Labels - Give Thanks stamp set with a red water-based ink pad. Drop a little water onto the inked up label stamp with a water brush or a wet paint brush. wf_s2_teri Stamp the label and let it dry completely. wf_s3_teri Stamp the label from from the Holiday Labels - Merry stamp set on top. wf_s4_teri Stamp on a few stars too. wf_s5_teri Fussy cut the label with your scissors. Create a second label just like this first one. Now, you are going to want to make a blue label. Follow the same steps. Just use blue ink. And stamp a sentiment on top with black ink. wf_s6_teri Die-cut a couple trees with the Riverside die set and affix them to the blue label. Adhere the labels, some twine and sequins onto your lip balm packaging like so. wf_s7_teri Fold up the package. Place the lip balm inside it. Punch a hole completely through the package. wf_s8_teri Bring twine through the holes, holding the packaging and lip balm together. Tie a bow in the front of the package. wf_s9_teri Finish the gift off by adding a little glue to the die-cut trees and sprinkling on a little bit of glitter. wf_s10_teri When you are finished, you'll get something that looks like this. wf_joytotheworldlipglossholder_teri wf_joytotheworldlipglossholderclose_teri wf_joytotheworldlipglossholderside_teri If you make a lip balm holder to give as a gift, I'd love to see it!   • I like the watercolor stamped, deocrated labels! What fun packaging for lip balm. Each year I have a tough time trying to think of useful, inexpensive gifts to give to several neighbors. They are all very different and with food allergies, diet restrictions, etc., I stay away from food, homemade or store-bought. The lip balm is a grand idea! Most everyone can use it, especially here in cold, northern IL. Thank you for the good idea, Teri! :D
