[Guest] Purses that POP by Clara

Hello! This is Clara here today, sharing with you what I have created with the Purse-nality stamp set. My idea was to have a patterned backdrop behind a hanging purse. I made 2 variations. Let's begin with the backdrop. I used the floral image (which is part of the stamp set) to provide a wallpaper-like background and to do so I used strips of masking tape to first mask off the middle section on the card panel. Then using Versamark ink the image was stamped a few times to fill up the space. After removing the masking tapes the area was clear heat embossed. This embossed surface would resist the colors that I applied with Zig Clean Color RB markers and a waterbrush. These markers were used to color the purses as well. A brad was inserted into the cardstock and secured with a piece of tape behind. The hanging purse was glued in place. I did stamp the sentiment before hanging up the purse. The front panel was adhered onto a card base. The following 3 pictures show more of the working process for this card. To color the background, I used Blue Gray, Gray and Light Blue markers. The image was stamped in Black Onxy VersaFine ink before getting clear heat embossed. As I was after a denim look, I colored it blue with a Blue Gray marker and a waterbrush. Then I hand cut the image without leaving a white border. I braided with thin gold string and adhered onto the back of the image. To make the purse pop, I cut the image apart separating the top and lower portions. Next I used the corresponding die to cut out two pieces of (black) foam which I will name F1 and F2 (for easy reference). On F2, I trimmed and left out the bottom portion as I only needed the top. Both the top portions of the purse and F2 were adhered together, then subsequently adhered onto F1. Finally the bottom portion of the purse was adhered onto the bottom of F1. A blue sequin was adhered to complete the look. On the second card, I was hoping to make the purse look like leather so I tried Mustard, Beige, and Mid Brown colors. Blue Gray and Mustard were applied onto the background. A gold elastic cord was used as the handle and a gold sequin was added as well. For just that additional "purse-nal" touch, I adhered a ribbon bow tied with brown cotton cord. That is all from me. Thanks for dropping by! I hope you have a great time creating with your supplies.
