Release Blog Hop for the Stitchables

Today is the day! All of our stitchable products are now available in the store! Including some awesome FREE PATTERNS! Yay!

A Little Background Story
If you've been following us, you might have noticed that August is a special month for us. In 2018, we released Color Swatches; in 2019, we released Color Combos and in 2020, we are releasing the Stitchables!
Cross-stitch was my main hobby before cardmaking. I love how simple the supplies are so I can stitch almost anywhere; I love how many colorful threads there are to collect; I also love that we could follow a pattern and get a fairly good result every single time! The only problem I had was that I couldn't find a way to put all my stitched projects to good uses.
This idea came when I fell in love with cross-stitch all over again back in January this year. Now I can stitch my heart out and turn them into cards!
Five Reasons to Love the Stitchables
These are some of the products I was super excited to design, and then the more I use them the more I like them! Here are some reasons
1. Sized for Cards!
All of the Stitchables (borders, pinking shapes and holiday shapes) are sized for A2 sized cards. Especially the beginner friendly borders, you can cut them out directly from the cardbase to make a card with not too much bulk!
I can now finish a project and put it in the mail for someone special without worrying about where to put it. Remember to snap a few pics before you send them out!
2. Easier on the Eyes!
I chose to have the Stitchables equivalent to 10ct Aida. I think it's at a good balance of "Cute!!!" and "How much work was that?!" (Wink!) They have not caused any eye strain for me!
Comparing to a common 14ct or more fabric, less crosses per inch means bigger holes and bigger needles! If the small holes and fine needles have put you off for cross-stitching, these Stitchables may change your mind!
3. Easier on the Hands!
Bigger holes means bigger needles! We recommend #20-22 Tapestry Needles with 4-6 strands of floss!
Another reason that it is easy on your hands is that you are stitching on paper! It's like stitching on fabric on a tight hoop! Needles are easy to go through, and pressure is a lot easier to control! If you are running into uneven Xs problems, the Stitchables may help you!
4. Unlimited Color Choices!
Or only limited to what cardstock you have! I recommend 80lb cardstock - heavier cardstock might not cut well due to the intricate cutlines and lighter cardstock might not be strong enough to hold up to the tear and wear during stitching.
Think all the wonderful color combos you've already learned in cardmaking: White on Kraft? Purple on Lavender? Pink on Navy? Share what you would try first in the comment!
5. Exclusive Patterns!
In a way, all of our Stitchables have a pattern in them already - all you need is to fill the shapes with little "X"s. You can easily add a little sparkle here and there or stitch the rows or columns in rainbow colors.

I’ve actually collected completed small cross stitch pictures from estate sales or antique shops to use them on cards. I did a TINY bit of cross stitch when I was very young, and I only knew a couple basic stitches & you brought all that back. It is cool that Waffle Flowers has dies to put the patterns on paper. Definitely going to consider buying some. You are a great teacher.
