Xyron + Waffle Flower Inspiration Week – Day 5 - Channin Pelletier

Hello everyone! We are teaming up with our friends at Xyron to bring you some fun projects every day of the week! Don't forget to checkout the awesome giveaway prizes at the end of this post! We have Channin Pelletier on the blog today! Take it away, Channin! Xyron-Waffle-Flower-5 Hello everyone! I'm super excited to be participating in Waffle Flower's and Xyron's Inspiration Week! I had so much fun creating that I made 3 cards! Even though I made 3 different cards I did pretty much the same thing for each of them. I used the wonderful Flower Circles Inverted dies to create the circle designs. I left the dies unclipped, just like they come out of the packaging, so all the cuts would be centered every time I used them. I used the dies to cut two sets of circles out of rust, orange, mint, turquoise, and teal cardstock. I trimmed down the rust and teal paper scraps to create two 5” x 7” panels. I then glued these panels down on a 5” by 7” panel of white cardstock. WFC Xyron 3 Next, I arranged my inlaid circle sets in the color combos I wanted. I then held them in place with bits painters tape on the front and ran them through Xyron’s Create a Sticker Max machine to add adhesive to the backs of the cuts. I can be messy with glue and struggle with tape runners when working with smaller bits of paper. But the Create a Sticker Max machine made adhering my circle designs so so easy and clean, I loved using it! WFC Xyron 2 Next, I inlaid my circle design into the rust and teal panels for the front and middle cards. For my third card, I just adhered my circle designs on top of a 5” x 7” panel of rust cardstock. I then had to trim all my panels to remove the overhang from the circles. WFC Xyron 4 Next, I cut some strips of vellum, then stamped a sentiment from the Bowtiful set in black pigment ink and clear embossed it. I then stamped the sentiment again on scraps of orange, mint, and turquoise cardstock. I then trimmed these down to just the “your special day” portion of the sentiment. I then placed the vellum strips on the panels and folded the edges over and taped them down in the back. I then adhered the panels onto my card base and lastly adhered the “your special day” strips onto the vellum. Hope you enjoyed!! -- Channin

Hello everyone! We are teaming up with our friends at Xyron to bring you some fun projects every day of the week! Don't forget to checkout the awesome giveaway prizes at the end of this post! We have Shelly Kurth on the blog today! Take it away, Shelly! Xyron-Waffle-Flower-4-1 For my card, I started by stamping my images from the Snail Mail set on cardstock and coloring them in with markers. I then used the matching dies with them. Once I had my die cut pieces, I used the 3" Xyron Sticker Maker and the 1.5" Xyron Sticker Maker with my pieces and afterwards set them aside. Next, I used the largest die from the Lacy Layers die set with white cardstock. Once done, I used Xyron's permanent Mega Runner to adhere my die cut base to my card. Afterwards, I placed my 'stickers' on my card and to finish my card off, I added a little bit of twine. Xyron-Waffle-Flower-4-2 Waffle Flower products:

Hello everyone! We are teaming up with our friends at Xyron to bring you some fun projects every day of the week! Don't forget to checkout the awesome giveaway prizes at the end of this post! We have Laura Jane on the blog today! Take it away, Laura Jane! Xyron-Waffle-Flower-3-2 I started out by stamping and coloring the images from Little Mermaids with Zig Clean Color Brush markers and used the coordinating dies to cut the smaller images out. Xyron-Waffle-Flower-3-3 Then I used the Xyron 1 1/2" sticker maker and the Acid-Free Repositionable Adhesive Refill Cartridge to add sticky to the back of those images. Xyron-Waffle-Flower-3-4 Now that I have the pieces ready I can have fun putting it all together! I inked the blue background around the mermaids, added some bubbles and cut a frame from the Lacy Layers die. Since the smaller images had Repositionable Adhesive on them, I was able to move them around until I was happy with the collage at the corner:)) Here is the completed card: Xyron-Waffle-Flower-3-5 --- Laura Jane

Xyron + Waffle Flower Inspiration Week - Day 2 - Katie Gehring

Hello everyone! We are teaming up with our friends at Xyron to bring you some fun projects every day of the week! Don't forget to checkout the awesome giveaway prizes at the end of this post! We have Katie Gehring on the blog today! Take it away, Katie! Hello friends, Katie here to share a simple Birthday card featuring the Balloon Messages stamp set, the Balloon Messages Die along with some help and awesome tools from Xyron. Xyron-Waffle-Flower-2-Gehring-Bday Balloons I love using vellum on my cards for its translucent quality, and it works especially well with balloons. It’s the translucent quality of vellum though that makes vellum so tricky to use because, you know… adhesive. There’s nothing worse than VAL- Visible Adhesive Lines, right?! The best tip I can share is to coat the vellum evenly with adhesive and Xyron’s Sticker Maker are the perfect tool for for this. Xyron-Waffle-Flower-2-Gehring-Bday Balloons 2 First I prepped the panel by doing all the stamping and inking. I stamped the balloon strings and sentiment and added a little ink spatter with black ink. Next I die cut the balloons from vellum and ran them through the Xyron 1.5” sticker maker. In one of the balloons, I added an inlay star. When applying adhesive to a larger surface, like these balloon die cuts, sometimes adhesive get places you would rather it not go. To address this, I always apply pressure and trace the outline of the die cuts before removing the top layer of the sticker maker sheet. Should a little adhesive transfer to my project, Xyron’s Adhesive Eraser is very handy for removing unwanted adhesive without leaving marks or eraser residue on your project. Xyron-Waffle-Flower-2-Gehring-Bday Balloons 3 I added a couple sequins along with a bow cut using the Tiny Twine Bow Die. Finally, I used the Xyron Mega Runner to adhere the completed card panel to the card base. I have never used a mega runner or a tape gun previously, I was so impressed with how easy it was to quickly cover a large area with adhesive. The runner has a flip up cap to prevent unwanted adhesive transfer and its substantial size means it’s not as likely to get lost on your craft table like smaller tape runners. Xyron-Waffle-Flower-2-Gehring-Bday Balloons 4 Well that’s all for me today. I hope that these tips encourage you to try using some tricky materials in your next project. The right adhesive can make all the difference! --- Kaite

We have Patricia Roebuck on the blog today! Take it away, Patricia! Xyron-Waffle-Flower-1-YouAreFintasticCard Waffle Flower Supplies: Xyron Supplies: Xyron Creative Station After I used the Waffle Flower inks to blend in the water and sand on my card panel, I die cut the waves from the panel. I stamped and colored all of the images, then die cut each one out. I sent them all through the Xyron Creative Station! All I had to do was adhere everything into place. To get my waves to pop back up, I used a paint brush and baby powder to apply to the waves to remove the stickiness. --- Patricia
