Products Willy & Friends Stamp Set Willy & Friends Die Flower Circles Die Good Stuff Stamp Set Good Stuff Die

What Annette Says: I first choose a piece of designer paper that I thought was perfect for the photo inspiration and die cut using Flower Circles Die. I cut this same shape out again using white textured card-stock. I then adhered the shape to my card base inlaying it directly to the card. I then stamped this sweet image from the Willy & Friends Stamp Set, colored, die cut and adhere to card using foam adhesives along with the sentiment and pretty bow from Good Stuff Stamp Set.

Products Lotus Stamp Set Lotus Die With Love Word Die

What Shelly Says: I started by stamping each of my flowers and coloring them in with markers. After, I used the matching dies and ran them through my machine. Once done, I set them aside for the time being. I then started to make my 'scene' so to speak, using my flowers on a piece of white cardstock. One at a time, I placed a die where I wanted my flower to be and ran it through my machine. After, I placed my COLORED die cut piece (again, one at a time) on my white cardstock where I previously had my flower and used my die in the negative spot next to my colored flower. So it would trim my colored flower to fit perfectly with the others. Giving me my 'inlaid die cutting' technique. To finish things off, I used the 'with love' word die to place over the top of my flowers.

What Laura Jane Says: I masked off the heart shape from Flutter Stamp Set and stamped several flower layers from the DT Mix Stamp Set in colors suggested in the inspiration photo. I then used the With Love Word Die to cut out and inlay the sentiment in GOLD paper.

Products Flower Circles Stamp Set Flower Circles Die With Love Word Die

What Laura Says: I was inspired by the fabulous tones of pink in the February palette and combined a couple of the stamps from the Flower Circle Stamp Set with the matching Flower Circle Die to make this retro style card. The inlay technique is probably one of my favorites and I used it to insert the pieces of the large flower into the background, as well as the pretty sentiment (With Love Word Die). Thanks for letting me play with you this month, it was a lot of fun!

Five for Friday - All Aflutter for Butterflies

on March 20, 2015
DesignTeamHeadshots-KatieGehringHello everyone! Katie here. There’s something about the change in seasons that makes me think about butterflies.  It’s as if we are emerging from the cocoon of winter, and spring is ready to take flight.  Some trends may come and go, but butterflies, and all that they symbolize in strength and transformation have long been a staple in inspiring fashion and decor.

My card

Look no further than the Flutter Stamp Set for a decidedly modern take on the timeless butterfly icon.  I was inspired by one of the buildable sentiments in the set to create this colorful card:

Silly Valentine Week - Two Clever Cards by May Park

on February 05, 2015
DesignTeamHeadshots-MaySukyongParkHello, everyone! It's May here. Today I'd like to share a couple of one layer cards that I made for Valentine's Day.
pouring hearts card by May
For my first card, I stamped the stitched heart image from Flutter stamp set after leaving some lines uninked. Then I drew some holes/lines using black pen to look like my heart hanging up from the top. Next, I stamped the tiny hearts from DT Mix stamp set in different shades of pink. I finished it off with the sentiment from Monochrome stamp set.
sheep love you cardFor my second card, I used a masking technique to create a flock of sheep on the bottom of card front. Then I drew a ladder using a ruler and black pen to look like one of sheep climbing up to the heart. Next, I stamped the solid heart from DT Mix stamp set and the sentiment from On My Mark stamp set.
That's all for today. Hope you loved my cards and got some inspiration. Thanks so much for stopping by! Happy crafting!

Silly Valentine Week - Quick and Easy Lunch Box Valentines by Kim Kesti

on February 03, 2015
DesignTeamHeadshots-KimKesti Hello everyone! Kim Kesti here! My seven year old daughter, Eloise is in first grade and takes a lunch box to school every day. I thought it would be so fun to surprise her for the week leading up to Valentine’s Day with a fun little card tucked in with her lunch. I created these five cards assembly line: first I trimmed five strips of red cardstock (3 ¾” X 8”), next I scored each strip at ¾” and again at 4 ½”, this creates a tiny little matchbox card. Since I am not putting these notes in envelopes, I love using the matchbox fold and securing it closed with a staple. Silly Valentine Card_Kesti   I trimmed patterned paper for each card (3 ½” X 3 ½”) and also trimmed a cardstock panel to stamp on (3” X 3”). Stamping each little panel was so fun! I used a variety of stamps set from the new release including the Flutter Stamp Set, Monochrome Stamp Set, On My Mark Stamp Set and Rain Check Stamp Set. WFValentines_Kesti1 I think this is my favorite card: WFValentines_Kesti2 I used the DT Mix Stamp Set and added “strings” to the heart with markers. Easy-peezie! Thanks for taking a peek! I enjoy making cards that are simple, quick and still have a fun little kick to them. Happy Valentine’s Day! Kim Kesti

Silly Valentine Week - Classroom Valentine Card Set by Katie Gehring

on February 02, 2015
DesignTeamHeadshots-KatieGehring Hello friends,
Katie here sharing an idea for a set of silly Valentines- perfect for the classroom.  To make these Valentines, I used the materials picture below including the On My Mark stamp set, On My Mark die and the Flutter stamp set.
 WFC Gehring Silly Valentine1-1
I trimmed panels of white card stock to 3.25 x 4.25 and adhered some washi tape at the bottom. Next I stamped the polka dot heart from the Flutter stamp set.  A quick tip that I wanted to share… notice the heart on the left is a bit splotchy.  It was the first time I stamped it and with large solid images, sometimes you need to condition the stamps a bit.  I cleaned the ink off the stamp and roughed up the surface just a bit with a fine grit sanding block and look at the stamped image on the right- it inked up and stamped perfectly.
WFC Gehring Silly Valentine2-1
Next, I made a mask using thin card stock and stamped the striped heart in blue ink.  I was using a post it note originally, but I noticed after a few uses, the blue ink was bleeding through- not exactly the look I was going for, so I switched to a heavier paper.  One of the challenges of heavier paper is that the image that you are stamping over the masked image may have some challenges getting right up to the mask, so I used this sponge-tip tool called Fantastix to apply ink next to the mask.  I found Fantastix in the ink section at JoAnn’s.
WFC Gehring Silly Valentine3
After the hearts were in place, I stamped the sentiment from the On My Mark stamp set.  I also stamped and die cut the kitty also from the On My Mark stamp set and wrapped him with some embroidery floss.  This is where my girls let a hand wrapping the kitty with string.  A bit of washi tape on the back of the die cut will hold the string in place.
WFC Gehring Silly Valentine4
I adhered the wrapped kitties with some foam tape.
WFC Gehring Silly Valentine5
And here they are, a set of six Silly Valentines- wrapped in love, string and a bit of washi tape.  The kids can add the "to" and “from" inscription on the back or near the small heart.
WFC Gehring Silly Valentine7
Well, that’s all for me today, but be sure to stop by tomorrow and every day this week for more silly Valentine inspiration.

We blend well together, don't you think? ;) Basic RGB Please visit their blogs (listed above) to read more about their contribution! So proud of the girls! If you are wondering, the Chinese character in there, 愛 (ai), is "love" in Chinese, Japanese and Korean! It contains the characters for "friendship" and "heart". Isn't it beautiful? 271031 DT Mix-02 I made a quick card for today but I look forward to playing more with this set! So versatile! wfc-2015-01-05-forever-always-card
