DesignTeamHeadshots-LorenaCantoHello there! Lorena here with a brand new Five for Friday post full of inspiration! Lately, I’ve been in love with all things coral. It’s a really pretty color, perfect for both Spring and Summer, and it combines beautifully with soft shades (like mint), with bold ones (turquoise!) and even with trendy metalics. Here are a few coral crushes I’m having right now…
  1. Let’s start with an amazing coral reef. Because, you know, it wasn’t Anthropologie that invented this shade * wink *

  1. An ombre coral cake? Yes, please!!!

  1. Coral seems to be hot for bridesmaids gowns, but you can wear it anytime! This dress is proof. Isn’t it gorgeous, combined with navy trellis?
coral 3 source
  1. This fabric: Fluffy llamas on a flowery coral background. I. just. can’t. even…

  1. The beautiful coral is making a dent in décor, too. I love how beautifully curated this little corner is.
coral 5 source So the occasion called for some coral paper crafting, and here’s what I did. WFC coral 1 I double die cut the A2 panel from Lacy Layers die to make a square panel in coral, and then used the Lacy Flowers  and Lacy Flowers Mats die to make some inlaid die cutting over vellum. WFC coral 2 I finished the card with Celebrate word die cut from glittery gold fun foam, and gold twine. WFC coral 3 I also tried some tone on tone coral on this tag, but this time I used glittery white fun foam for the sentiment, which comes from the Congrats die set. WFC coral 4 I hope you enjoyed this coral parade! Happy weekend! -Lorena

Hello everyone! Welcome to day 5 of Faber-Castell and Waffle Flower Inspiration Week! We team up with our friends at Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft to bring you an entire week of mixed-media inspiration! Blog-hop-badge-Faber-Castell-Waffle-Flower We have Sabrina here today! DesignTeamHeadshots-Sabrina Processed with VSCOcam with c1 preset There are many graduations coming up quickly, so for today’s project, I pulled out a brand new sentiment set along with an older favorite from my Waffle Flower Crafts collection. The Feather More Stamp set was sending the artsy, mixed-media vibe that the Faber-Castell products were inspiring, and the Congrats Stamp and Die set have the perfect sentiments. Processed with VSCOcam with c1 preset The background was creating by coloring with two shades of pink Gelatos® and blending before adding a layer of thick Whipped Spackle through a stencil. I used the same technique with the feather die cuts before stamping on top with the coordinating stamps. The Big Brush pens are great for coloring stamps and gives a bit of a watercolor effect. Layer everything up with some foam adhesive for extra dimension and texture. I love how easily a sheet of white paper can be transformed and how well these products compliment one another! Supplies:

Faber-Castell & Waffle Flower Inspiration Week - Day 3 - [Video] How to Add Texture & Color to Card Using Gelatos

Hello everyone! Welcome to day 3 of Faber-Castell and Waffle Flower Inspiration Week! We team up with our friends at Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft to bring you an entire week of mixed-media inspiration! Blog-hop-badge-Faber-Castell-Waffle-Flower We have Mayline here today! DesignTeamHeadshots_Mayline Hello everyone, it’s Mayline here today to share. Faber-Castell has amazing products; there are watercolor pencils, Crayons, Pastels, Pens, and so on. I believe that the most innovative product from Faber-Castell is Gelatos. Gelatos are very buttery so you can easily blend them like Pastels using fingers without water. They are also watersoluble so they can be used to create watercolor effects. How great is that?! I am fully in love with the Gelatos. They also work well with Waffle Flower products! Let’s take a look at my projects.

Project 1

It was my first time trying to create a mixed-media project using Gelatos and Textural Accents Whipped Spackle. I did not know what to do or how to apply them. So I watched tutorials on YouTube and found many techniques. I used simple techniques on my first card. textured-stripes-love-you-a-bunch Here are a few pictures to show you how easy it was to create the background for the card. textured-stripes-love-you-a-bunch-steps
  1. Use washi tape to create stripes on cardstock.
  2. Apply “Lemon” Gelato; blend with finger.
  3. Mix Whipped Spackle with "Lemon" Gelato; apply to the left side of the card base; let dry.
  4. Apply a random coat of Whipped Spackle for additional texture; let dry.
  5. Peel off washi tape.
As a result, I made a textured yellow-striped background. Here are some close-ups: textured-stripes-love-you-a-bunch-closeup-1 textured-stripes-love-you-a-bunch-closeup-2 textured-stripes-love-you-a-bunch-closeup-3 textured-stripes-love-you-a-bunch-closeup-4 I used three different ink colors to create a blended look on the petals. It is a fast and easy technique and here are a few pictures to show you how. I used A Bunch Stamp Set , A Bunch Die and Spring Blend inkpad, the color numbers are 4(Sweet lilac), 5(Pretty Peony) and 6(Rose Bud). doily-congrats-card-by-mayline-flowers

Project 2

I had fun getting messy with the Gelatos and Whipped Spackle on my second card. I used Doily Circle Die from Waffle Flower as the stencil for this technique. doily-congrats-card-by-mayline Here are a couple of close-ups: doily-congrats-card-by-mayline-closeup doily-congrats-card-by-mayline-texture And a quick video to show you how I made the card. Watch it here or on Waffle Flower's Youtube Channel here. http://youtu.be/mud88qPYZoo I used A Bunch Stamp Set & A Bunch Die (flowers), Congrats Die (sentiments), Doily Circle Die (yellow background), Pattern Play Stamp Set (banner) from Waffle Flower, and Gelatos (Lemon, Guava, Bubble Cum, and Metallic Melon) and Artist Pens (SILVER 251 and Gold 250) from Faber Castell faber-castell-products   That’s all for today. I hope you like my mixed-media projects and are inspired to make something yourself. --- Mayline Thank you for sharing your amazing cards with us, Mayline! We loved watching the video!

Hello everyone! It's Lorena here sharing some inspiration for the very versatile balloons! DesignTeamHeadshots-LorenaCanto Ah, balloons… aren’t they dreamy? Either a bunch of them soaring up high in the sky, or beautifully gathered to brighten a celebration. But when I started researching balloon images for this post, I was amazed! I would have never thought there are SO many things you can do with them, other than the obvious decorative use! And, sure, there are a gazillion ways to decorate with balloons, but check this, because there’s so much more… If you’re throwing a party, you can go beyond the bunch of balloons ans amaze your guests with this. So worth the effort! balloons 1

Did you really think balloons were only for children’s parties? This cool idea proves you wrong. Obviously, the dress above is the perfect outfit for attending this kind of party ;) balloons 4

And finally, balloons are such a delightful inspiration for cardmaking! Have a look at this wonderful image. balloons 5

I used this beautiful print as a starting point for my card. The new Waffle Flower Crafts release has the cutest heart shaped balloon image and a coordinating die for it! They are in the Congrats stamp set and Congrats die. Yippee!!! balloons card 2 Instead of using a sentiment in the place of the balloon string, I decided to give the sentiment a fun ride by tying it to a bunch of colorful balloons. The solid cloud from Rain Check stamp set provided the perfect backround. balloons card 3 Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great weekend!!! – Lorena
