Embossing a Gift Bag with Joni Andaya

Hello Everyone, welcome back to the 12th day of Gift Giving here at Waffle Flower Crafts. My project today is very simple to make: embossing a paper bag that I purchased from my local crafts store. I used Waffle Flower Crafts stamps and dies to make this project special. gift-wrap-with-joni-andaya-1-photoI first stamped the paper bag with Versamark ink to prep for the white embossing powder using the Tribal Thank You Stamp Set (tree). This will also look gorgeous with colored embossing powder. gift-wrap-with-joni-andaya-2 Next, I poured the white embossing powder on the bag, then heat it with a heat gun. gift-wrap-with-joni-andaya-3 Then I created a tag to go with my gift bag using Flower Circle Die Set. I die-cut the flower die twice, one for the background for my tag and 2nd to create a window for my tag. I used pencil mark on the background as a guide to help me where to stamped the sentiment “a gift for you” from stamp set A Homemade Christmas. I then distressed both circles, window and background. gift-wrap-with-joni-andaya-4 Next, I added some leaves on the tag from the Holiday Labels - Give Thanks stamp set and die-cut using the Holiday Label 1 Die. Then I added a hole on top of the tag using the tiny hole reinforce from Surface Tag Die Started Kit. gift-wrap-with-joni-andaya-5 To finish off the tag I added some gold sequins from Pretty Pink Posh and natural twine from May Arts. gift-wrap-with-joni-andaya-6 Here’s the full view of the gift bag. gift-wrap-with-joni-andaya-7 Thank you so much for stopping by! Make a Wine Tag with Karolyn Loncon

Hello!! I’m Karolyn Loncon, and am so happy to be a part of Waffle Flower’s 12 Days of Gift Giving extravaganza!! I decided to focus on a project that would show gratitude and appreciation to the host or hostess of your Thanksgiving celebration!! Waffle Flower 11-10-14 Thanksgiving Wine Bottle Tag Close Up   I think it’s so important to say “thank you” to anyone that opens their home and slaves over a hot stove to provide a lovely meal, don’t you? This is super easy to create! Here are the Waffle Flower products that I used: Flower Circles Die Set Holiday Label 1 Die Holiday Labels – Give Thanks Stamp Set Holiday Labels – Merry Stamp Set   STEP ONE: I gathered some fall themed patterned paper and some white cardstock, adhered each patterned paper to a cardstock panel to give it some substance, and then die cut each panel using the largest die from the Flower Circles Die Set. Waffle Flower 11-10-14 Step 1 STEP TWO: I used the woodgrain piece for the outside of the flower, and the leaf piece for the inside. The above photo shows the back of the two pieces, and how I adhered them together. I just tore off small pieces of washi tape and taped them around the circle to join the two pieces. Waffle Flower 11-10-14 Step 3 STEP THREE: Using images from both the Holiday Labels – Give Thanks Stamp Set and the Holiday Labels – Merry Stamp Set, I stamped a label for the wine bottle tag onto some yellow cardstock, and then die cut the label using the Holiday Label 1 Die. I found that it was easier to stamp first, and then die cut in order to find the true center of the stamping with the die cut. I used a bit of Post It tape to hold the die in place while cutting. Waffle Flower 11-10-14 Step 4 STEP FOUR: I adhered the label to the front of the flower/tag using some foam tape. I cut a piece of yellow polka dot ribbon that I had in my stash, and adhered it to the back of the flower/tag using some tape. I tied a bow for the top (I adhered that with a glue dot). Easy peasy! Waffle Flower 11-10-14 Step 5 I think this project shows that you care enough for your hostess that you took the time to hand make something for them, and that you appreciate their hard work and hospitality! Waffle Flower 11-10-14 Thanksgiving Wine Bottle Tag Isn't it adorable? What a thoughtful gift wrap! Thank you for sharing your talent with us, Karolyn!

Twelve Days of Gift Giving - Day 5 - Rustic Gift Wraps with May Park

on November 05, 2014

Hello everyone! Welcome to Day 5 of Waffle Flower Crafts Twelve Days of Gift Giving event! Today we have our design team member May @ Mayholicraft here! The natural rustic look of her gift wraps stole our heart!

Rustic Gift Wraps with May Park

wfc-May-GiftWrapping-1 Hi, crafty friends, May here. Today I'm sharing some gift wrapping idea using products from Waffle Flower Crafts. Gift wrapping is one of my favorite parts of upcoming holidays. I love putting in the effort to make each gift something special for the recipient. I thought it might be fun to get a little more creative in my gift presentation this year. Then I decided to create my own wrapping papers and decorate my gifts using stamps and dies. wfc-May-GiftWrapping-2 For my first project, I used the feather stamp from Feather More stamp set to create my own wrapping paper. You can choose the different sized feathers from the set, depending on how large wrapping paper you need. Then I dressed it up with some gold dipped feathers that I made using gold embossing powder and feather dies from Feather More die set. wfc-May-GiftWrapping-3 This is a closer up of my embellishments. I love the woodsy, rustic, and organic look of my gift packaging. The partial embossed feathers give it a unique look, too. What do you think? It took me quite a while to make this. But I’m sure the person who will receive my gift will definitely like my extra effort.  wfc-May-GiftWrapping-4 For my second project, I stamped the leaf images from Give Thanks stamp set randomly on a piece of kraft paper. You could switch up the ink colors depending on what color wrapping paper you use. Or you could stamp the images in a different pattern, maybe lines or waves. This time I attached some die-cut leaves to add an extra autumn feeling. wfc-May-GiftWrapping-5 I love how the irregularities in the stamping give it a faded, vintage look. This leaf patterned wrapping paper was the easiest to make and you can definitely make it by stamping the images with kids. wfc-May-GiftWrapping-6 These are step-by-step instructions on how I put together my second project. 1)Stamp the leaf image from Give Thanks stamp set randomly over the entire piece of kraft wrapping paper with black ink. 2)Stamp another leaf image from the same set to fill in the gap. 3)Wrap up the gift in the leaf stamped wrapping paper. 4)Die cut two shapes of leaf image using dies from Give Thanks die set. Stamp the leaf images on the die cuts in different colors. 5)Die cut the tag from Surface-Tag Die-Starter Kit. Then stamp the sentiment from Give Thanks stamp set with black ink. 6)Tie the gift box with some ribbon and make a bow. Then top it off with a tag, button, twine, and twig. wfc-May-GiftWrapping-7 Stamping on a wrapping paper is a great way to customize gifts for friends, family, and special occasions. It makes for a pretty adorable package in relatively little time. You can customize the wrapping paper with your loved one’s favorite color/image, too. Hope you love my gift wrapping projects that I shared today and get some inspiration. Thanks so much for stopping by! Happy crafting! May
