Waffle-Flower-Challenge-20150608
DesignTeamHeadshots_AmandaHi everyone!  Amanda here today with my take on the June Waffle Flower Challenge.  This bright, playful photo lends itself to so many fun interpretations.
June Challenge Card Squares
I am crazy about the arrangement of the ombre canvases in the June Challenge inspiration photo.  While brainstorming a way to mimic the overlapping, curled canvases, I spotted a stack of sticky notes on my desk.  These little sticky notes were the perfect size for a card, and consequently, the perfect size for the scribble and sentiments from the Doily Square Stamp Set.

Using Waffle Flower chalk inks, I stamped several different colors onto sticky notes and played around with the arrangement of the on the front of the card.  Once I settled on an arrangement that I was happy with, I stamped the sentiment on the top square.
June Challenge Card Squares 3Picking the colors for this card was the most fun!  I chose colors based on the inspiration photo, but this card would look equally as lovely using another color palette.  I used #5 from theSpring Blend Inkpad and #9, 10, 12, 13, and 16 from the Summer Blend Inkpad.

Gently curl up the ends of each sticky note with a pencil before affixing them to the card.  This will help the ends of the sticky notes spring up like the canvases in the inspiration photo.

Add some movement to the card by stamping a few dashes here and there.  These lines may be little, but they can have a big impact on the visual balance of a card.

Have fun with the June Challenge!  I can't wait to see what you make!
Thank you for sharing your talent with us, Amanda! Now we need to go and roll some paper! LOL

DesignTeamHeadshots_MaylineHello crafty friends! It’s Mayline here today to share my card for this month’s Waffle Flower challenge. Waffle Flower Challenge-20150427 When I saw the inspiration photo, I wanted to get a big gold framed mirror for my bedroom. Unfortunately, my room is too small for a big mirror like this. I cannot have this beautiful mirror in real life but I can put one on a card! I am also drawn to the other details in the photo: flowers, pots and bottles on the drawer dresser! Isn’t it a interesting combination? I incorporated this look on my cards. They are simple and clean cards that are easy and fun to make! Here’s a quick video to show you how I made the cards.

Aren't they gorgeous? challenge-card-by-mayline-1 Doily Square Die is perfect to use as gold frames on cards. I also used the new Congrats Stamp Set (bow ties), Doily Circle Stamp Set (sentiments) and one of my favorite stamp sets: Riverside Stamp Set (jars and lantern). challenge-card-by-mayline-2 Can you see the small hearts in the bow-tied bottles? I stamped them using Summer Blend Inkpad, the color numbers are 14(Waterfall), 13(Malibu) and 10(Wild Orchid). challenge-card-by-mayline-3 challenge-card-by-mayline-4 Don’t forget to check out this month's challenge and the new products released in April. My Card

I was most inspired by the wildflower bouquet! The color combo is comforting and energetic at the same time - just how I feel about my mom! <3 wildflower-bouquet-for-mom-card I cut a bunch of the foliage from our Loved Stamp Set and flowers from A Bunch Stamp Set  from kraft cardstock and stamped them in several different colors to form a bouquet look I liked. loved-stamps-dies I cut the standard A2 size card base down to 3.75" x 5.5" so I can let the doily cut by our Doily Circle Die stick out. wildflower-bouquet-for-mom-card-closeup Nothing compares to making a card for someone you love!
