DesignTeamHeadshots-KatieGehringHello crafty friends, Katie here with a new feature on the Waffle Flower Blog, Throwback Thursday also referred to as #TBT! In this series, I will be sharing ideas for combining Waffle Flower Craft’s newest stamps and dies with some previously released and well loved sets. For my first project, I wanted to combine the new Gift Bag Die with a couple of the Surface Tag Die add ons- the Santa Add On and the Scallop Add On. First, I die cut all the gift bag and the elements that I need from the Surface Tag Add On sets. To make Santa’s beard wide enough to fit across the front of the gift bag, I rounded one edge. I also die cut two of the Santa’s belts to accommodate the wider front of the gift bag. wfc-20160915-santa-gift-card-holder-katie-1 I assembled the gift bag, by adhering the handle to the back of the bag so as not to interfere with Santa’s beard. Next I added some details using the Scalloped border detail and the belt with gold buckle. I decided to adhere the gift bag to a kraft card base, but decided to dress it up a bit by pulling out another older stamp set, A Homemade Christmas. I stamped the small stars included in the stamp set onto the note card using Coffee Loves Milk dye ink. wfc-20160915-santa-gift-card-holder-katie-2 Once the background was stamped, I stamped a sentiment- also from A Homemade Christmas- with black ink, adhered the gift bag to the card with score-tape and slipped a gift card inside. There you have it, the Gift Bag die is all dressed up for the holidays! If you need to send gift cards to far away family and friends over the holidays, this card lays flat for easy mailing- nothing dimensional to get smashed in the mail. wfc-20160915-santa-gift-card-holder-katie-3 Well that’s all for me today, but I hope that you enjoyed this project combining new and old adding up to even more creative possibilities. If you have a suggestion for a Waffle Flower stamp set or a die that you would like to see featured in a upcoming Throwback Thursday just let me know by leaving me a comment below. Thanks for stopping by! Katie

Day-12-of-12-Days-of-Gift-Giving-with-Joni Hello everyone! Welcome to Day 12 of our Twelve Days of Gift Giving event! How time flies when you are having fun, right? Today we have our design team member Joni Andaya here! We love that Joni kept it to the basics: stamps and dies - for her project today!

Embossing a Gift Bag with Joni Andaya

Hello Everyone, welcome back to the 12th day of Gift Giving here at Waffle Flower Crafts. My project today is very simple to make: embossing a paper bag that I purchased from my local crafts store. I used Waffle Flower Crafts stamps and dies to make this project special. gift-wrap-with-joni-andaya-1-photoI first stamped the paper bag with Versamark ink to prep for the white embossing powder using the Tribal Thank You Stamp Set (tree). This will also look gorgeous with colored embossing powder. gift-wrap-with-joni-andaya-2 Next, I poured the white embossing powder on the bag, then heat it with a heat gun. gift-wrap-with-joni-andaya-3 Then I created a tag to go with my gift bag using Flower Circle Die Set. I die-cut the flower die twice, one for the background for my tag and 2nd to create a window for my tag. I used pencil mark on the background as a guide to help me where to stamped the sentiment “a gift for you” from stamp set A Homemade Christmas. I then distressed both circles, window and background. gift-wrap-with-joni-andaya-4 Next, I added some leaves on the tag from the Holiday Labels - Give Thanks stamp set and die-cut using the Holiday Label 1 Die. Then I added a hole on top of the tag using the tiny hole reinforce from Surface Tag Die Started Kit. gift-wrap-with-joni-andaya-5 To finish off the tag I added some gold sequins from Pretty Pink Posh and natural twine from May Arts. gift-wrap-with-joni-andaya-6 Here’s the full view of the gift bag. gift-wrap-with-joni-andaya-7 Thank you so much for stopping by! Gift Wrapping with Lorena Cantó

Hi everyone! Lorena here to welcome you to Day 7 of Waffle Flower Crafts Twelve Days of Gift Giving! Hope you’ve enjoyed all the fantastic ideas that have been shared so far. For today, I have two different projects to share: a Christmas gift box and a decorated mini bag that will be perfect for giving away year round. Let’s get started! Lorena PIC 1 I die cut the box and the side panels with my Silhouette Cameo, but it’s a model simple enough to be easily found on stores like The Container Store, the dollar store, crafting stores and such. Just a plain square gift box. Lorena PIC 2And now comes the fun part: decorating it! On the panels I stamped the stars cluster from Bowtiful stamp set in a light mint color and then went in with the holly image from Holiday Labels: Merry stamp set. I wanted to stamp it in two colors, so I performed a little surgery to the stamp to separate the leaves from the berries. This really fastened the stamping a lot! Lorena PIC 3 Next, I tied jute string around the box and finished it with a tag die cut from patterned paper with Surface – Tag Die – Starter Kit and the rectangle from Surface – Tag Die – Scallop Add on. The white embossed sentiment is from A Homemade Christmas stamp set. Lorena PIC 4 Oh, and as a final touch I added a star die cut from Tiny Star die. Lorena PIC 5 The second project is a mini bag embellished with a tag. The round tag with those super cute debossed dots was die cut from Flower Circles die set and layered on a bit of patterned paper. I’m a woman on a mission to stop hoarding pretty patterned paper… Lorena PIC 6 The Feathered More stamp set is perfect for personalizing gift tags! I used the “Friend” sentiment, but you also have Mom, Daughter, Sister, Son and Cousin. Lorena PIC 7 I embellished the tag with the Tiny Star die layered over the Tiny Circle die and finished it with a couple enamel dots and twine. Lorena PIC 8 There you go! Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you’ll be back tomorrow to find out what the amazing Katie Gehring has created! Lorena

Hello everyone! We have another guest today! yana-smakula-2014-Waffle-Flower-Card-2-3e I first found Yana's work in a card magazine about two years ago. I was playing with paper layering at that time and found her work interesting and are different every time. Then she joined a design team I was on and I started to get wowed by her stamped cards. Yana has a video for us today! You can find more of Yana's videos on her Youtube Channel here and her blog here! We love that she just plays and explores. Thanks Yana, for generously letting us upload your video to Waffle Flower Crafts Youtube Channel!

[Video] Christmas Cards by Yana Smakula

Hi everyone! Yana is here and today I will be sharing a few cards and a gift set idea with you using the new A Homemade Christmas Stamp Set. I originally planned to create one black and white snowy card, but after I started playing with this set I couldn't stop! I kept having more and more ideas and I wanted to test them all! I'm going to share 3 of them with you today.
yana-smakula-2014-Waffle-Flower-Card-2-2e I created a video tutorial to show how my main card was created. I also talk about other uses for this stamp set and show how you can easily turn a snowy heat embossed card into a modern looking one. And at the end I share an idea of a handmade gift using just the Homemade Christmas Set. Enjoy! You can watch the video here or on Waffle Flower Crafts Youtube Channel. And be sure to subscribe too! http://youtu.be/JBghNo4JI-0 Here is a photo for the gift set featured in the video: yana-smakula-2014-Waffle-Flower-Card-2-6e

Waffle-Flower-Freckled-Fawn-Blog-Hop Hello everyone! Welcome to day 6 of a week long inspiration brought to you by Freckled Fawn and Waffle Flower Crafts! We have simplified the blog hop to two stops - our blog here and the blog of Freckled Fawn. Stop by both of our blogs for inspiration and prizes! We have our very talented design team member: Joni Andaya here today! DesignTeamHeadshots-JoniAndayaHello there Joni here. For my first project I combined the Waffle Flower Riverside Die Set (trees) and A Homemade Christmas sentiment (Merriest Wishes) with Freckled Fawn Enamel Classic Dew Drops. To begin, I first die-cut the trees on watercolor paper using the Riverside dies and watercolor the trees then let it dry. Next I adhere the trees using glue pen on the center of the white cardstock panel and created the ground using Copic markers in gray. For the snow glitter effect I used the Martha Stewart glue pen and made some tiny dots on the card panel then pour the clear glitter from Martha Stewart and let it dry. I also added some glitters on the ground and the trees. For the finishing touch I added the white enamel dots from Freckled Fawn. Home-Sweet-Home3 Here’s the full view of the card. Merry-Wishes For my second project I combined the Riverside Die Set (river and trees) and A Homemade Christmas Stamp Set (sentiment “Home Sweet Home” and tiny house). I also used the Starry Night stamp set (sentiment “Everyday”). I combined these Waffle Flower sets with Freckled Fawn Wood Chips Clouds. To begin my card I first cut a panel tiny bit shorter than the A2 card just for me to adhere a strip of Kraft cardstock at the bottom of the card. I then die-cut the river, trees, using the watercolor paper then color in. For the tiny house I stamped it on the watercolor paper and fussy cut. I then put everything together starting at the bottom of the panel first….hehehe that’s how I do it ☺ bottom first then I move up. I adhere the river, colored the ground for the trees using Copic Markers in Olive green, then adhere the trees, and the house. I stamped the sentiment “Home Sweet Home” from A Homemade Christmas. I also added the “Everyday” from Starry Night Stamp Set. Home-Sweet-Home2 Next, I move up on top of the panel and adhere the Mountain from Riverside Die Set, same process die-cut on watercolor paper and color it in.  I adhere mountains close on top of the river and added the Freckled Fawn Wood Chips Clouds to finish off the card. Home-Sweet-Home4 Here’s the full view of the card. Home-Sweet-Home1 I hope you enjoyed! Thank you so much for stopping by ☺

Waffle-Flower-Freckled-Fawn-Blog-Hop Hello everyone! Welcome to day 1 of a week long inspiration brought to you by Freckled Fawn and Waffle Flower Crafts! We have simplified the blog hop to two stops - our blog here and the blog of Freckled Fawn. Stop by both of our blogs for inspiration and prizes! We have our very talented design team member: Lorena Cantó here today! DesignTeamHeadshots-LorenaCantoHi everyone! Welcome to the first day of the Freckled Fawn & Waffle Flower Crafts Blog Hop Week! It's Lorena here and I'll be sharing two projects using stamps and dies from the August Waffle Flower Crafts release combined with some lovely goodies from Freckled Fawn. Let's get started!

First, I have a tag and a little tutorial to make a speech bubble from the Santa beard die in Surface - Tag Die - Santa Add on. I love finding alternate uses for dies!

September hop 1

Here's the how-to:

September hop collage
1. Cover a piece of cardstock with Freckled Fawn's Large Polka Dot washi tape and die cut the largest tag from Surface - Tag Die - Starter Kit.
2. Die cut the beard bottom from patterned paper. Use a pencil to trace the rest of the bubble speech shape and trim with scissors.
3. Stamp the sentiment from A Homemade Christmas stamp set on the speech bubble.

Now, just adhere the speech bubble to the tag with foam tape, embellish with the Freckled Fawn Wood Chips Stars & Such and you're good to go!
September hop 2

I also made a Christmas card using A Homemade Christmas stamp set and some yummy white enamel dots from Freckled Fawn. Again, here's proof that Waffle Flower Crafts stamps can be stretched to make lots of different things! Here, I created Christmas peppermint candy using the tiny tree shape in the set.

September Hop 3 Each peppermint candy was created stamping the small tree 4 times in red and 4 times in white, in a circular motion. I used pigment ink because the colors show much better on kraft cardstock, specially the white.

September Hop 4
Here's a tip for not contaminating your inkpads: stamp all the red trees first. Once you're done, clean the stamp very well before going in with the white ink. You don't want red smudges all over your pristine white ink pad, right? ;)

I finished the card with a sentiment from the same set heat embossed in white.  I love how playful those peppermint candies look!

September Hop 5
That's it from me! Don't forget to check back tomorrow for more blog hop inspiration by the amazing Suzanne Dahlberg and thank you so much for hopping with us!

Hello everyone! Welcome to Waffle Flower Crafts August/September 2014 Release! We will introduce our new products from August 1st to 4th with giveaways on each day. All products will be available in our store on August 5. We have 4 stamp sets and 4 die sets in this release.

A Homemade Christmas Stamp Set

A Homemade Christmas Stamp Set For our first take on a Christmas stamp set, I went back to the basics again. I want to provide a simple set that can be used over and over again. I had tags and gift giving in mind but the stamps can be easily used on cards and other paper crafting projects too.

Surface - Tag Die - Santa Add-on

Surface – Tag Die – Santa Add-on-01

This is what was on my mind when choosing the basic shapes for our Surface - Tag Die - Starter Kit. But you can also use them on their own by die cutting the speech bubble edge first and then trim to size.
